They charge a 20% extra charge, for GRATUITIY that it is not a TIP, to cover expenses for the kitchen, the bar and the employees. My table end up discussing the fact of this, if I where the owner I would increase the prices up 20%, and withdraw this policy, everybody ends up with a bad sour taste because of this instead of enjoying a good experience.

One of the best restaurants in LA. Incredible food, amazing service, and the vibe of the restaurant is cozy and makes the experience that much better. The ceviche is a must & fish is also amazing. A must try.

Came here last Friday as group of 5 for dinner. We ordered several entrées one of them being the steak frites. Towards the end of our dinner I had emptied out my tin of fries that came with my entrée to share with the group to find a fried bug/earwig at the bottom. I wish I had taken a photo to share here for evidence but was too disgusted with what we had discovered. We immediately reported this to our waiter who escalated to the manager. They were really apologetic and offered to remove one of the cheaper entrées off our bill when it actually came from my steak frites. In addition they offered a single complimentary dessert.to feed a group of 5. I tried to negotiate, at the very least, a round of cocktails but the manager was hesitant and offered a round of Lillet instead. We weren't thrilled about it but we decided it was better than sharing one dessert for the 5 of us.

Though the gesture and the apology was appreciated, I honestly thought they should have found a better way to make it up to our group or offered a better compensation equivalent to finding a fried bug in our food. If management had offered a better alternative I would have considered the the restaurant another shot. After this experience our group will likely never go back again.

We went on our last night in Venice and it was by far our favourite. The zucchini beignets and the prawn were our favourite dishes. Service was very attentive and some of the best we had in LA.

Very good oysters, ceviche and steak. Everything was cooked very well, drinks were well made and the service was excellent. Will definitely return.

Everything about this place is lovely. Food was amazing. I loved the zucchini beignets and the muscles the most. Ingredients were unique but paired perfectly!

Staff was great and knowledgeable. Atmosphere is very beautiful and aesthetic. We dined on a busy night and it does get quite loud since it’s a cozy space. It was hard to have a conversation at times.

But all around this place is amazing. I can’t wait to return and try the rest of the menu!

The owner here charges an automatic %20 tip… then keeps it. Doesn’t pay the wait staff tips at all. Now you know, they’re charging an extra 20%, scammers.

Not worth the money. The atmosphere and staff were really nice but the food just wasn’t good. Mussels were a bit cold and generally wouldn’t recommend it

An absolute gem, to be certain. We visited as a group of 4 on a busy Friday night, and ordered the beignets, prawn cocktail, and steak tartare to share. All three hit the mark - the wood-fired prawns were delectable, and the steak tartare was the best I've had in quite a while. For mains, two of our number ordered the steak frites and both reported they were "perfectly cooked. " The dorade was well reviewed, and I had the hot dog, which I highly recommend. It's a creative and fun dish, simultaneously harkening memories of simple summer BBQs and high-end cuisine at the same time. Bottom line: can't wait to visit again.

A great find! French bistro with an American twist. The menu is concise but with a wide enough selection for everyone and a nice selection of cocktails and wine. The Wood Fired Prawn Cocktail and Steak Frites were excellent, as was the service. It's a small restaurant that gets busy so you'll need a reservation!

Nice French bistro that feels a little more sophisticated than it's near beach location. On the small and noisy side. Also some muggy weather hit LA and are usually don't like air conditioning cuz a little sticky. Also the staff is very eager to shuttle us along as they had a line out the door

Food was great but wow, I’ve never had such bad service in my life — actually it was a lack of service. We sat at the bar and it took at least 20 minutes to get the attention of literally anyone to place our order. Not once did someone check in on us or even offer us some water. After getting our food, it took us another 10 minutes to get the attention of someone to bring us utensils. The lack of service was actually insane. We would have loved to order another drink or maybe even desert but it was truly impossible to get anyone’s attention. Finally got the attention of someone to get our check to find that they automatically charge 20% for tip. We literally didn’t even have a server lol. Worst experience, definitely won’t be back.

Went for the Pa’s Biscuitisserie pop-up and it was amazing. I got a chicken biscuit sandwich and the match latte.
I’m not typically a biscuit or matcha person but I am now.

Good food and fun drinks. We tried a bunch of items from the menu including the tar-tat, oysters, fish, and more. It was all good, especially the tar-tar. The service lacked the fine dining experience. I had to request the table cleaned more than once even though the oysters were obviously done and sat there while new plates piled up. The staff is new and needs better guidance from mgmt in.my opinion. I will give it another shot if improvements are made I will update this review.

Had high expectations for this place, but left disappointed.
-Rude hostess
-Not pet friendly
-Bland food. It may look Instagram worthy but not worth the $$
-Espresso martini tasted like syrup, Bonnie and Clyde drink pour was shockingly small
-Ritz crackers (yes the ones you get at the grocery store) was served with a dip. Only 6-7 crackers came out and we had to ask for more. I find the restaurant to be a bit stingy

Suggest going here for only for dessert, but don’t bother eating dinner or drinking here. Spend your precious money elsewhere.

We live nearby and have returned multiple times to this charming and welcome addition on Main Street! It is a playful take on French food; with fantastic service in a beautifully designed space. Nothing else like it on Main!

Food was OK and a bit overpriced. Service was ok until the end. They definitely tried to rush us out. (We were only there for ~1 hour with a bottle of wine, two appetizers and two entrees). They asked me three times if they can take my plate despite I told them every time that I am still working on it. The seating person came and took the wine ice bucket away while we still have wine in the bottle. At the end I just said check please before checking out the desert menu. They automatically added 20% service charge to the bill. We are party of two. If they don't automatically add tips to every table, I guess they just add service charge to the table the service was not good? !

Overall feel it's a bad experience. Would have been a better evening if we went somewhere else.
