Courtyard by Marriott Los Angeles Torrance/Palos Verdes

As every Courtyard looks like any other Courtyard, what makes or breaks the experience is the customer service and the delivery of the basics. The Courtyard by Marriott Los Angeles Torrance/Palos Verdes failed miserably on both accounts.
To start with, there was no recognition of the Bonvoy Platinum status. In fact, I was assigned one of the worst rooms in the house (room 155) : smaller, on the ground floor, beside the elevators and the exit onto the parking, with the result that my sleep was constantly disrupted. The lady at reception said that that was 'the best they could do', as they were fully booked. Which is an acceptable justification for a walk in, not for someone that booked weeks in advance, as it means that the hotel has no process in place to treat frequent guests according to Marriott's guidelines and promise.
Another negative aspect is the exorbitant cost of the laundry service, which is far higher than at any other Marriott or Courtyard ($10 for one shirt). The cherry on the cake being the extra $5 (per item!) if you want your shirts folded.
To add insult to injury, on my last night internet was down for several hours, making it impossible to work or access online entertainment.
So, look elsewhere if you care about being valued as a frequent guest, if you enjoy a good sleep, or if you need an internet connection that works.
Parking is free, though.

What you would expect, nothing fancy and nothing out of the ordinary. Which is what we hoped for for a quick wedding trip.

Rooms were left much to be desired, no remote for the TV and my door didn't lock but the service was amazing! Thank you Natalie for all of your help with our event we will definitely be back because of your exceptional communication and welcoming hospitality.

The stay, the staff, the service, the food, the coffee at the bistro and in the room. The amenities; gym, laundry, common area. The room was on the first floor. I was able to come and go with no issue. The common area was amazing. Elevator jazz music played throughout the day. It was calm and relaxing, a perfect place to grab coffee and some bfast and to then get some work done on my laptop; either on a desk or on a cozy, comfy sitting spot.

We chose to opt out of housekeeping, but again the staff was so friendly. If we needed to exchange towels or ask for coffee while housekeeping was in the hallway, they did not hesitate to accommodate.

Even though times have changed; room prices have gone up and complimentary items have significantly decreased, everything I mentioned above made our stay nothing short of amazing. Service, staff, amenities - incredible. What a joy to stay here! ️

Very nice. Great location. Beautiful and well keep outside. Very friendly and helpful employees. Will be back. Has pool outside and Very nice setting areas.

I've stayed here 5 times and everytime the online check-in has to be redone and it takes over 10 minutes. Then when I get a room key I can't even get into the doors without 5 trys. Their credit card system always asks for a pin and will not let you proceed without one (credit card).

For some unknown reason this courtyard hotel will not allow food and beverage credits to be applied towards alcohol/drinks.

Used suite night awards to upgrade to a one bedroom suite. The hotel overall is okay and the staff is helpful. I will probably be back again unless I can find a courtyard in the area that allows more thorough usage of the food and beverage credits.

Not good. Strange to see how hotels are forgetting basics of hospitality, I.e to serve customers well. Everyone wants to be following LCC model of pathetic service - but be aware, customer will find an alternate soon for more pleasant experience.

Terrible customer service the lady in the front Karen is so rude she was really out here acting like a Karen and also I was charged addition fees on top of my room that didn't make sense I'm also and ambassador member and maybe me feel less of I don't if it was cause that I was black I was treated this way but Marriott has lost support from me for this one please do better with your front desk staff because they will be the reason you loose valued customer

It was a fine hotel with ample well-lit parking, and side doors that open with room key so you can park near your dwelling place. Staff are always helpful!
Outdoor pool was open both time we stayed this year, batting 1,000!

First at all. I want to say thank you to the manager of front desk and one of the front desk ladies who, unfortunately, I don’t know the name of. They were incredibly professional and friendly. I had a problem with my reservation and couldn’t arrive because one of my family members got COVID, and they were able to help me. In the future, I hope that I’m able to actually stay in this hotel. I really appreciate all their help because I had a similar situation with another Marriott hotel and they were rude and incomprehensible.

Nice place, friendly staff! Everything seemed clean. Only drawback was My room was near the elevator.it wasn't as bad though. I only heard it once. Other than that no complaints!

The room we had was very nice. The people are courteous and nice. It was easy to get into and easy to find. The courtyard has a firepit in it.

First and foremost it was is a nice hotel but one thing I did have a problem with was a staff that works at night …. He came to my room knowing I have my kid with me saying he was getting complaints … okay I get that she was running around jumping, but then he accused me smoking in the room just because he saw steam coming from the bathroom and tried to charge my card for smoking which they not getting cause why would I smoke in a room with my baby … knowing my baby shouldn’t be around smoke and at that didn’t smell no type of Weed or cigs that I don’t smoke! Didn’t even give me the chance to stay my two nights with some bull stuff like this and you gon charge a smoking fee while I’m staying there? !? That’s how I know I was getting picked on I’m never coming here again good luck to the people that do!

There was plenty of parking space during my stay. Grounds were clean and landscaping was nice with lots of green plants. The associates at the front desks were very friendly and got mechecked into my room very fast. The room was very clean and the bed felt very comfortable. The bathroom was very clean. I enjoyed my stay here. Will definitely be returning here.

Front desk staff are all nice, it's just the promised microwave that was written on the fine print of the hotel upon booking is not true and i asked for it and they said that there's an error on the website, very disappointed. But room was okay then, parking on-site available.
