This delicious little gem in downtown is so close to everything I absolutely love the location and the decor is so unique.
The front desk staff was so wonderful and welcoming and if you deal with Sal, he’s probably the best front desk agent ever!
You’ll absolutely love the history and the decor of this glorious historic hotel.

Love the building, love the room, the front desk staff is awesome too! The historic building is a great setting for a hotel! Love how well preserved it is and the rooms are a great size. Two important things to note-the hotel is right next door to House of Blues and there is a club across the street; so if you are a light sleeper this may be hindering. If you sleep through the night this is a worthwhile place in the city to stay.

Located inside a former bank building in downtown San Diego. You can see the actual safes on the S level. Very friendly and professional staff. Elevators are reallllly slow. Beds were comfy. Would stay here again.

Location is OK, staff was friendly at checkin. I was here for business on 2 consecutive nights, 2 different rooms. The 1st night I had a king size bed. The ac worked so great & made the room really cold at 68 degrees. The 2nd night I was in a room with double beds. The first bed on the left I tried was horrible. It was so mushy & soft the mattress almost bent in the middle. It wasn't a nice soft, it was an overused, uneven, uncomfortable soft. I switched to the bed on the right & it was normal & more firm. The ac was set at 60 degrees when i first walked in but an hour later the room still wasn't cool. I called for maintenance & he removed the cover, talked to someone in Spanish so I don't know what was said & told me 30 minutes. I guess in 30 it would get cooler- it never changed at all & I just went to sleep. In the morning the shower drained so slow the water was filling the tub. Yuk! My pet peeve. Very different experiences in the same hotel. The pillows here are great, they're very soft.

Beautifully restored 1800's banking building which is impeccably maintained with a staff that's always courteous and service oriented. Accommodations are as expected with beautiful views of the surrounding city. Well worth the investment and great location central to many attractions.

Always Pleasant and clean during the pandemic they were open and accommodating to the community serving with a smile no more pool table no more bar but you can sit there on your laptop and do your work and still have small meetings what are two people and by Ambience is great

We just checked in and the whole place smelled like raw sewage. There is black mold on the outside of the ice machine on the 4th floor and the wall paper is peeling in the elevator and in our room. We are going to see if anything else is available in the area.

Love this property. It was originally a bank and they still have the vault in the basement which is now used as a conference room. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean and up to date. It's located by Gas Lamp district.lots of restaurants and bars around.

One of the most beautiful and authentic Courtyard’s I’ve ever stayed at. This was a unique older bank building and could easily have been an Autograph collection with the beautiful woodwork and original layout. It was just the right distance from downtown activities with an easy walk.

Located in the middle of all the action, plenty of resistants, bars and a lively night life scene. Great rooms and good hotel accommodations

Fine place to bring in your family in gaslamp quarter. They offer parking (mostly have to rely on valet parking). Customer service is excellent and the rooms have all needed amenities.

I would like to say that I find the reuse of an old bank building awesome. Also love the classic age of the hallways and doors. The room prices I found reasonable for being a downtown location. And the rooms being upgraded are very nice.

The staff is very helpful and polite.

I give this location a 3 for 2 reasons.

1-Having only valet parking is fine but $50 a night is unacceptable. When you go to a hotel you’d expect there to be parking fees. $30 should be capped by Marriott (I was told it’s up to the hotel owner as this is a franchise) or just put into the hotel booking prices.

2-I’ve come to enjoy the conveniences of the small shopping markets that Marriott has in most/all their hotel lobby. This market has very little to offer more than a vending machine. I usually travel with my family. We’ve come to rely on this consistency of the Marriott properties.

Oscar. Valet Parking guy is all the reason you need to stay at this place. He sets the tone for this place and its a good tone.

The hotel and staff were fantastic, don't listen to all the negative hype. This is a historical building. It's not cookie cutter and brand new. It's got great character! My flight was delayed due to hurricane Ida. We checked in at 3: 30am and we encountered the wonderful SAL! He was pleasant and helpful. I wanted to change my room and he was so accommodating and honest. But really, all the staff I encountered in 5 days there were fantastic! They had helpful info about the city, restaurants and sights we had to see without breaking the bank.
My room was on the 12th floor. I got a city view and 2 queen beds. My room was huge! The bathroom was brand new but was refinished nicely. My refrigerator didn't work which I notice until the next day. They had a new fridge in my room in 10 mins. And I mean new; out of a box with Styrofoam. I also wiped down my whole room due to covid. It's my test. All my Lysol wipes came back clean when I looked at them. No dust or dirt.
When I left, my suitcase felt a bit heavy from my souvenirs. The staff literally found a luggage scale and new batteries to weigh my bag! Seriously, who does that?
So yes, I gave this place five stars. It deserves it! And if you have time, try to visit the vault. I was here for a wedding and the rehearsal was in the banquet room and the vault. It was amazing to see the history!

Great location! Walking distance to restaurants and the bay. Staff was friendly, valet was quick, and the room was spacious. Love the history of the building.

I was referred to this hotel by our Marriott timeshare (which was booked on the dates I requested) I was not expecting to be in a city/business type district nor that no parking for the hotel guests except a valet at $50 per night available. Sure there are other public parking near by but no in and out allowed and those garages do not stay open all night leaving you locked in/or out at closing. The location and parking accommodations really was a disappointment after a long drive from Northern California.

The room itself was nice however this hotel shares the building with The House of Blues and if you book a room with two beds you will hear the repetitive thumping of the music until 3 am. You also get the conversations and noise of the drunk guests staying there walking in the hall. The rooms are NOT insulated well. (all rooms with 2 beds face the street and get the music vibration. Only the king bed units don't hear the night club music. This info comes from the hotel staff). I asked to be moved to a king bedroom unit, although these are more expensive I found it to be quite smaller than the two queen bed units and the view is terrible. These rooms are located towards the middle of the hotel and the view is of walls and equipment. The plus was the quite at night.

Outdated, $50 parking ‍️‍️ and it seemed like it was valet only. I drove around the block twice and didn't see a parking lot structure. No thanks!
