Cove To Lake Trailhead, La Quinta CA

Scenic trail with varying terrain and unique overlooks that is great for both bikers and hikers. The trail starts flat but eventually leads to several mild climbs up to a ridge that is rocky but nothing that a moderately fit person can't handle. There are several spots that get sandy, but my gravel bike was able to handle all of it with speed (45c tires). Eventually, there is a switchback descent into another river bed leading you to gorgeous blue Lake Cahuilla. The area does get very hot so it's important to watch your water intake and not to overexert yourself.

For biking, there are some deeper sandy parts so air-down your tires! Views are great at sunset, I would avoid midday rides unless you are a desert pro!

Early morning is the best Whiskey trail if you're brave Watch your step not for amateurs. 6: 28 sunrise.

Hiking trails everywhere.nice and hidden. With amazing VIEWS, as the SUNSETS or rises.

Very senic area for hiking and mountain biking. Dogs are allowed but not on every trail because of the wildlife.

Trail was good. Not too difficult. Some loose stones, so some areas be careful.
