Cracked Pepper Bistro reviews
18 We went here 7 years ago, and we were expecting another exceptional dining experience. Not so much anymore. For those who have difficulty with eating cilantro, your dining experience may be restricted - and there were no "hold the cilantro" alternatives for the dishes we wanted.
In addition, the bar was given two tries for a cocktail shaken well, but they inexplicably couldn't do it - shaken a bit doesn't cut it.
While the food was good, and the service decent, the experience with the, I suppose the owner, and the manager was extremely unpleasant. I'm latino and we all know that overbearing attitude some white people have towards us in the US, which we weren't expecting specially in California. We showed a valid tax exemption card from the DoS, and we understand it's uncommon here in Fresno, the problem wasn't that they didn't want to accept it (they should) but the contempt and aggressive attitude towards us. Do yourself a favor and go to other restaurants around Fresno, for +$150 bill per person we expected at least politeness.
This place is delicious and flavorful. I can't stop thinking about their bread pudding! You must try it if you go.
Absolutely love Cracked Pepper Bistro! The shrimp Diablo is bursting with flavor and my favorite dish is the Halibut which has the perfect crust and buttery taste! Atmosphere is great, temperature is perfect, and service is always great!
The service at Cracked Pepper was pleasantly refreshing to see a restaurant still focused on service. The ribeye was so tender and cooked perfectly.
Love the salmon and bread pudding. It's a great location for a date night or just a fun night with some friends.
I would recommend making a reservation in advance.
Amazing food & drinks were fantastic. Bread pudding is not my favorite dessert, but this place blew it out of the water.
My favorite restaurant ever. All time. Very pricey, but everything on the menu is good. I think I’ve had it all. Here’s what you do: appetizer - Eggplant and goat cheese dish. Main plate - anything. Dessert - Bread Pudding. That’s the secret. Enjoy!
The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I order the scallops and they came out super quick. They were huge and juicy, not over cooked. The drinks were very tasty as well.
Although they don't have their New York cut anymore, the food is very good. Perfectly seasoned steaks and the salmon is tasty as well. Service and accommodations are spot on. Will definitely be coming here more often.
We had the best night tonight. The service was wonderful, Jodie, our server was spectacular, attentive, kind, and very knowledgeable. The bartenders were top notch, quick, and made delicious cocktails. Overall the experience was marvelous and the food was delicious! We will be back for sure!
Favorite place in Fresno for dinner. Incredible food but the service is the key to their success.
Very overpriced for average tasting food. The service is fine but the food quality does not deserve anything more than 3 stars.
The owner is horrible.overcharges on wine, is not kind, isn't amicable when you bring in your own wine and so much more. Very disappointing.
One of my wife’s & I favorite restaurants in Fresno! We’ve been fans since the red room at Shaw/Fresno location. Local owner & (also chef) supports local businesses & uses fresh ingredients. The pappardelle & sea scallop pasta in orchid vodka sauce with crabmeat? ! Cooked to perfection & it’s to die for! Always contemplate if I should try other entrees but this is my go-to! Don’t forget to try their crab cakes with (I prefer the original tempura/fried ginger garnish) & the bread pudding? I didn’t even know I liked bread pudding until I tried theirs! Overall solid restaurant& 5stars. Delicious!
The service was adequate, the food was adequate, not nearly as good as as preCovid.
Major problem was the vent over over the grill stopped working. Late July, 2022.
Restaurant became hot and smokey, our eyes were burning. We moved ourselves outside where the air was better than inside. That's saying something when there are wildfires ongoing. The misters helped.
No one addressed the awful smokey conditions inside. We were told this was not the first time that had occurred.
Cracked Pepper, you can do better.
This restaurant is always 5* for service, food quality and drinks. We're always celebrating a birthday, anniversary or date night. It's in our top 3 for fine dining in Fresno. I highly recommend the scallops, eggplant appetizer and bread pudding. SO yummy
