Crema Coffee Roasting Company. reviews
18First time there was disappointed thought it was a sit down place where you have someone come and take your order. The food was okay was able to try it for the first time probably will not go back.
One of my 2 favorite Coffee shops to visit when in San Jose.
(The other is the Crema just down the road on the Alameda.
Pretty good coffee, but tea selection is very weak (Bigelow). Pastries and quiches are definitely awesome. Service has been confusing and kindof blunt at times, but I wouldn't say "bad". Atmosphere would be better if it wasn't joined with a restaurant.
The place looks pretty good but was slightly disappointed with the drink. Tried the red velvet latte but it didn't live up to the hype.
My girlfriend and I came in to grab some coffee and food before heading out to work. Saw a lot of great reviews so thought we’d give it a try. Coffee was not good - it just tasted burnt. Whatever - no big deal. However, we also ordered a breakfast burrito, and that’s why I’m writing this review. It was taking awhile for them to make it, so I went up to check for an update. Well…it took a long time because the manager was too busy talking to a friend of hers that was in town. When I came up to her to ask her nicely if our burrito was ready, she gave me a dirty look as if I was an annoyance. My bad - so sorry that your little friend was in town and that you didn’t take the day off to hang with her. Anyways, she made the burrito - and burnt it by the way, and just threw it on the tray with that same dirty look. I didn’t even bother saying anything…wasn’t worth it since she obviously cares more about talking to her friend than running a business. Definitely won’t be coming back.
Shoutout and props to the poor kid working the register AND making the coffee while the manager was hanging with her friend instead of working. Hey manager, next time take the day off next time so you don’t have to ruin other peoples day!
Much gratitude to Nathan for making a great London Fog while he was trying to close. Thanks, Nathan. You made Crema my new tea shop.
Despite I had to repeat 3 times that I want a cappuccino, I like this place. My cappuccino is good, about a cup, $4.95. Very quite at 9: 30am on a Tuesday. Parking is on the street, that's a bummer because the street can be a little busy to cross. They have some macarons and some other pick me up treats to go with your drinks. Clean area.
Very poor customer service on Tuesday evening. It says they are open until 8pm but I went in at 6: 40pm and was very rudely told they were closed, when it says 8. I will not be coming back
Wow, not sure what happened here since they have great reviews. Was expecting something like Blue Bottle or The Verve.
Short walk after breakfast at The Breakfast Club nearby.
Place was pretty empty, and it took awhile for one employee to appear. The cappucino took less than 10 seconds from order, very fast. Was concerned that the plastic gallon jug of whole milk was less than half full, and looking puffy.
Wanted to order cake or pastry but after seeing the few in the display looking old and crusty, decided to pass. Should have passed on the coffee too. It was horribly bitter and sour. I could not continue drinking after forcing a couple of sips. Stomach did get a little bloat, which happens when the whole milk isn't the freshest.
First table we sat at was covered in grease. It seems like they share the space with a fish n chips place.
Love the honey lavender coffee here. The woman who owns this place is so friendly. If you’re looking for a quiet place to work this is it. Lots of seating. In an open space. Also and upstairs. Their other location is much busier. Tasty looking pastries and desserts…I managed to not buy any this time. It’s in the same space as Pier 402.
It is a caffe restaurant cozy and beautiful. Service was not friendly and dessert not fresh. We set outside and a gentleman was talking so loud we didn't finish our food and left. First time experience was not a good experience.
Crema lives up to the name. I got the red velvet latte with sugar-free vanilla, and oh my goodness.it's so good! I can't imagine what it tastes like with actual sugar. The service was friendly and fast. I want to come back and try more of the items on the menu. Parking is located on the side of the building.
Super cool spot! Lots of space, coffee, lunch, and dinner with space for private events.
I’m definitely coming back to try the oysters.
Delightful coffee shop with a great cuppa. The coffee was delicious and the scones were perfect. The interior was also very gorgeous.
OWNERS please give the barista a raise, bonus, or help. She did an amazing job on her own trying to take an order of 5+ drinks, go to the back for more supply, and rush to answer the phone. Not to mention there was a line out the door. Coffee and service was great
Coffee was good, sandwich was basic but nice and fresh. There's a lot of space including outside. My one suggestion would be to have more interesting sandwich recipes
On the question to barista: “Do you have power outlets here? ” His answer was: “We are not the restaurant so NO”.
BTW: your dirty chay is way below average too, especially for that price point ($7)!
I've liked Crema in its other locations, but I was extremely disappointed at this spot shared with Pier 402 - super slow service, and then my pastry had two spots of mold on top. I brought it back up and didn't even get an apology, just told to pick something else or get a refund.
I really want to like them and for this spot to do well because Race St could use some good stuff on it, but they'll need to make some changes before I'm happy eating there again.
