CroBean Cafe & Bakery reviews
17Hmm. It's tasty for sure. But I don't find the crossiants like a real crossiants, but more doughy than flaky. We purchased a $10 ham/cheese crossiants thinking it was fresh/room temperature. She offered to heat it up but once serviced, it was legit cold inside. Price was steep even compared to La Jolla bakeries. Taste was there but different than expected for a crossiant
Such a beautiful little shop! The owner was super nice and helpful too. I thought the cakes were there just for display because they were so pretty and when I asked for 2 slices, she just grabbed them and handed them to me and I was not expecting that LOL I legit thought they were decorations! That's how good everything looked will def be coming back and I recommend it to everyone! I'm also a very picky eater and I had no trouble at all gobbling down my little cake and devouring my wonderful coffee!
Awesome inventory of yummy breads. Great service. Our first time today. Can’t wait to return for more goodies
Welcome to the wonders of the real French bakery. Real size (giant) French croissants that are fabulous. Baguettes that are light years ahead of what we call baguettes in the USA. The French white bread, excellent of course, is known as the "traditional" bread in France. There is an indoor or terrace outdoor cafe which sets your clock to slow and enjoy.
This is a family business, yea for the mom and pops and I was helped by the daughter Emily or better yet Émile. And what a delight she was!
Strange place for a genuine French bakery but is well worth the trip.
Remember, as I often stress, quality costs! If you are looking for "French-like-style" breads etc at big box prices this is not the place for you or your taste buds!
Such a good bakery. Their bread is really good, fresh and tasty. Their pasties are out of this world. They are big too. You must stop by and have some. I am sure you will never had a pretzel like theirs. Soo yummy.
They are very dog friendly, always give treats to my puppy. And the owner Heather is super friendly.
Wow! This place is amazing and the staff is extremely friendly! So many delectable goodies, breads, and cookies to pick and lovely quiches, too! Then there's the coffee, doesn't matter if it's drip coffee or custom espresso, all are delicious. My new favorite Café.
That quiche is a must try! Great pastry and cheese combo! If you are lactose intolerant, better take that lactaid pill before going.
I thoroughly enjoyed my Artichoke Croissant. My suggestion that they make the croissants French size was met with humor from the French pastry chef. Apparently, in America, it's "Go Big or lose patrons. " I loved the discourse and the Mocha. Great Place and Great Flavors.
Ok, this place is the REAL DEAL. When I first walked in, I couldn't stop looking at all the beautiful pastries on display. Everything looked so amazing that it was hard to decide what to order! My boyfriend and I finally settled on an acai bowl, an artichoke and egg croissant sandwich, a Kouign-amann, and a black iced tea.
The croissant sandwich was as big as my face and so filling that we ended up taking some home. The black iced tea was refreshing, and the acai bowl was delicious. But the real star of the show was the Kouign-amann, which is essentially croissant dough infused with butter and sugar. It BLEW OUR MINDS!
If lived closer to Alpine, I would go back every weekend and order everything [vegetarian] on the menu. Seriously. I loved it that much. Plus, the woman behind the counter was bubbly and kind, and the vibe of the place was warm and welcoming. A huge bonus was that the chairs at the outside tables were actually comfortable. I LOVED THIS PLACE! Please go check it out!
So the macaroons are phenomenal and my breakfast was very delicious and I will definitely come here again. The coffee is great as well and the service I received was awesome. The person who took care of me was very friendly and acknowledged me when I came in. She was very diplomatic, even when the folks behind me tried to order before (over) me.
A new favorite! We wanna try all of the goodies! The coffee is amazing! The bread is more amazing and we are full and in love now!
Great drinks and croissant sandwiches! When I went there was a long wait because of a line and only one person working, but it was worth it. We got the iced latte with lavender, an Americano, and shared a bacon sandwich. There was a wide variety of options with and without caffeine. Prices are on par with similar businesses.
Great pastries and wonderful beverages but even better is Heather's service. She seems to always be nice and sincere.
Go! Get delightful baked goods, get great coffee, have a friendly conversation. Try the black current macaron and find out why I went every day for a week while visiting San Diego. (Really, it's all fantastic)
All of their food items are amazing and you can tell they put a lot of care into making them. The shop itself is so cute and a great little hang out spot. And the staff are just unbelievably kind! 110% recommend!
It's the most adorable place to just relax and eat some delicious pastries and a hot cup of coffee. Love this place
I love love love this bakery. I've been enjoying their pastries since the farmers market and when they first opened the bakery in Alpine. I now live in Colorado and stop by whenever I'm in the SD area
