Crowne Plaza Ventura Beach, an IHG Hotel

This is a beautiful hotel with friendly staff and great amenities. The down side is, if you are sensitive to noise this is not the spot for you. It is right next to the 101 and even with ear plugs I could not catch a wink. Other than that it would be a prime location.

RUDE STAFF!

At check-in we were told to flash the keycard upon exit for parking. When we parked in the structure, the sign said free parking for hotel guests. Our room wasn't ready when we first arrived at 4 pm so we were told to wait in the lobby. When it was ready, we just went to the front of the line and were quickly handed 2 keycards since we already completed the check in process. I deliberately put 4 adults on the reservation, and even paid more than if I were to put 2 adults. I was only given 2 keycards. The next day of our stay I stopped by the front desk ask for 2 more keycards so we can exit the parking structure.

After my stay I saw that I was charged $18. I called the corporate offices to find out what this charge was for and was told that someone from the hotel would call me back. Later that day I was was called back by Daniel who was extremely rude and combative, even just picking up the phone to begin with.

Daniel explained parking is not free and the 2 extra keycards that I asked for were parking charges. He was so irritated on the call and refused refund the charge. He wouldn't even give me his last name when I asked. He has no customer service skills and sounds like he hates his job.

We stay here all the time because it's centrally located w my friends, but will be finding another hotel from now on.

On our tour, this was the last hotel on the list.
We were allowed to check in 1 hour before the official time.
Unfortunately only for one night. It was great. From the balcony you could see the sea and the sunrise in the morning. Very nice.

It was clean, tidy and well maintained.
Unfortunately we were missing the safe (or we couldn't find it).

The pool area was great.
The staff in the restaurant and at the bar were very friendly and the bar employee even spoke German to us and joked. I thought it was great

As already mentioned, it's a shame it was only one night!

The train is right next to it. It didn't bother me personally. You could still sleep well. Certainly a problem for someone who is sensitive to noise.

We've stayed here multiple times & loved it each time. We're east coast now so it's difficult to know if we'll return but it would be our 1st choice.

Great location for a day trip or vacation. Right on the beach surrounded by restaurants and attractions. Connected to Moofish restaurant in lobby, great for breakfast, lunch, dinner. Weekend bottomless mamosa. $$

Staff was friendly and helpful in every department from front desk to valet to waitstaff at breakfast

Chris Lincon at the front desk was awesome. Our room was late but customer service made up for it. Give that man a raise

I walked up to the snack marketplace crowne plaza has inside. The day prior I had bought some items but they rang me up on the register as I only had cash. Today, I once again asked if they can ring me up through the register as I don’t have a card to use for the self serve (pay). A manager by the last name of Lionel or lion said “they don’t do that there “ and after I explained to him they did yesterday he then said he didn’t want to do it because he’s busy watching someone. Unacceptable!

Great view of the ocean, room was clean, hallway carpet dirty, friendly, beautiful selection of local artwork.

The Crowne has a great location right on the beach in Venture. The rooms are decent and what you'd expect from a Crowne, but the wifi is terrible (it's unusable from 3 - 10 pm every day and all day on the weekends) and the service is subpar. They have a hiring sign out front and it looks like they're having trouble keeping good help

Upon check in we were informed the city would be shutting the power off from 10: 30 pm until 6: 30 am. They never gave any of the guests checking in prior notice of the shut down even though they contacted us via text that morning to see if we had any questions or needs. They chose to not give guests the option to choose other accommodations or reschedule if they wanted to. Very bad decision on behalf of management. Next day they announced over the hotel intercom that there was an emergency and a fire in the hotel and then it just went quiet with no further information. We decided to take the stairs down to the lobby along with several other guests there was a lot of confusion when I went to the front desk the young lady Miranda behind the counter said oh our apologies it was a mistake. I then proceeded to ask why then don't you get on the intercom and announced it was a false alarm? And she literally laughed in my face. Completely unprofessional and clearly this type of behavior comes from what is accepted from management so overall the place is very badly managed. And they never did get back on the intercom and announce a false alarm. One last thing the first night we did valet parking which cost $18 a day. And the next few nights we parked in the parking structure for $10 a night. We noticed we were being charged $10 a day for parking even though we never notified anybody we were parking in the parking structure. I live locally I know of other places to park free. When I ask the front desk how they knew we were parking in the parking structure they insisted that I must have come down and told them that I never told them any such thing the front desk is argumentative. So just pay attention to your bill becausethey assume your parking in the parking structure if not using their valet. Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

0ur room was supposed to be "ocean view "but it looked out at the freeway and a parking garage with a very small side view of the ocean. The noise from the freeway was very loud making it very hard to sleep. The room itself was nice and comfortable.

Good and beautiful location. Clean and quite nice. Service at the reception was okay, but there was some difficulty with their shop and with the payment.

Loved this place the view to the beach was amazing customer service was great valet was awesome I will definitely come back in the future if needed

A nice well maintained place to stay with exceptionally friendly staff. The Crowne Plaza is also in a great location to enjoy the pier, Main Street, the fairgrounds and the beach without have to drive.

Really cool walking distance to great restaurants and shops right on beach very clean and well put together

I went to the upgrade rooms floor 10. So I can't tell about the rest. The hotel is fine. People are nice. But from all the staff, Miranda did such a great job. I can tell this girl knows how an international hotel is run. You need more employees like her.
