Crystal Lake Camp Grounds reviews
14An amazing place to feel like you are truly in the wilderness. I do wilderness survival camps here at Crystal Lake as it's one place that has everything I need to educate and train kids in wilderness survival. Surrounded by mountains on all sides. The campgrounds are all situated in the bowl of the mountains. Most of the campsites are well maintained and more private than other campgrounds. It's also a place if you are not well prepared for camping goods or even need a good meal, you have the Cafe which has awesome home-cooked food to order. It also provides you peace of mind if you happen to.have an emergency.
Beautiful place to visit! There is no snow yet, just on the top of the mountain. Please bring a bag to collect your trash to keep the place clean and looking beautiful.
Place turned into a dump. Loud parties and music till 3am. No one patrolling the area. Says no campfires but yet everyone had a fire going. Bathrooms stink!
The view is decent enough, it's calming and you can skip rocks. Many mosquitoes though and a LOT of algae in the lake. Overall good experience.
It’s spacious and clean. Restrooms and pipe water is available. A little bit cold in the night so make sure you have enough stuffs to warm up.
The campground is wonderful, with tons of great spots with picnic tables, fire pits, and running water. Pit toilets scattered around. Camping costs $12 and a wheelbarrow of fire wood costs $20. There is a camp store with food and some really great chili! But the lake is definitely not what it used to be.
We actually got to see snow! The areas were semi-private, secluded enough to not worry too much about the kiddos. They also have barbecue pits for your convenience
Our family loves it here. Especially when it snows. Please. Please. If your coming here when it's snowing please bring snow chains. It will save you many headaches. I've got me a perty SUV and I've gotten some people out of the ditches. If you've got one of them racing toys please don't forget your chains. And please be safe. Remember not all of use are single and needing the adrenaline rush. And most importantly "Don't get married and don't have kids" have all the fun you can while you can. But be considerate of others.
It’s was my first time in end of October 2021 and I was very impressed by this campground. Not crowded and very clean especially the café next to Campground with the good food
Great camping and hiking area. Bathrooms and fire pits. No water but there is a little store that has some supplies.
Fee based, so don't forget to stop at the visitors center and drop your money off.
Hiking, fishing, relaxing, and a great little store with all your needs (and some amazing chili). Love this place for a quick getaway from the city.
It was nice but half of the Campground was shutdown for some reason. All in all it's a nice place for a quick weekend away.
Thank you for the staff, volunteers, and communities for keeping this destination open. Met friendly cyclists, car and motorcycle enthusiasts. Clonked out at the 30 mile mark at HW 39 and was helped out by Rachel.
We went on Sunday, 1/3/2021 at 7am. It rained and snowed the week before and has been sunny since. We were afraid there won't be much snow with a whole week of sun light. We got to the campground and got a wonderful surprise. There were plenty of powered snow for us to play and not a lot of people to share. We sled, snow fought, had hot pot for lunch, build snowmen. We left around 1pm which was when the whole place was getting really crowded. What a wonderful morning.
