Cuban Kitchen, San Mateo CA

Tried place twice, togo. Quite Tasty. Shrimp can use tad more flavor. Salmon was excellent and not dry, perfect in the middle. Beef empaneda was tasty. Homemade chips were awesome- I would have eaten tons more if I didn't mind my cholesterol levels. Lol.
8/25/22-Tried the Ropa Vieja. Tasty.

Asked for special order and got delicious Surf and Turf sandwich with veggies and shrimp! Good pair with Mint Mojito Lemonade. Place is very clean and staff are super friendly. Will be coming back to try other plates!

I cannot recommend this place enough. Such fresh and flavorful Cuban food on the peninsula! “Literally obsessed” is an understatement. It was our first time trying CK and I went with the kind cashier’s recommendations: Vaca Frita plate w/ rice and beans, Maduros, and all the sauces. PHENOMENAL. I can’t wait to come back and try everything else, especially the Cuban iced coffee and gluten free Cubano!

All of the food there was the bomb the sauces were amazing overall great experience five stars are well deserved will eat there again!

I don't eat out often but after trying this place I have been back about four times in the last two weeks. It might be the most flavorful food I have had in a very very long time. If you live in the San Mateo/Belmont area and you haven't tried Cuban Kitchen, you're missing out big time. Cuban sandwich amazing.

We're from South Florida and this is far and away the best Cuban food we've had on the West coast. Don't sleep on the empanadas or tostones.

We have ordered once a week from here for several years now. All the menu items are good, though my personal favorite is the Cuban sandwich.

Truly exceptional! One of the best sandwiches/things in general I’ve ever eaten. We devoured the Cubano and Philly Bistec. Also, the service is gracious, fast, and warm/welcoming! We look forward to returning again and again soon.

You should change its name because whoever knows authentic Cuban food would realize that what you have on your menu is not Cuban food.

Ordered surf n' turf and spicy shrimp plate.both were delicious and full of flavor! The restaurant is super clean and food served really quickly. Love the Cuban music and friendly service. Highly recommended if you are in the area for this lovely small business.

Portions are on the small side but full of flavors. The sauces are exceptional. The mojito lemonade and the Cuban Sandwich are excellent. Definitely a place to repeat.

Excellent food! Highly recommend the beef empanadas, the Cuban sandwich, and the ham croquets. The black beans and rice were good, but did lack a little salt or seasonings. Love this place ️ will be going back!

Can't believe how long it took me to try this place! Cubano with spicy fries and a pineapple soda is the way to go. Don't forget a side of the habanero hot sauce which was so good I bought a bottle to take home. Coming back soon and often!

This is our first time at this establishment and it was pretty good. Smooth, efficient service accompanied with great tasting and portioned food! The pork was super tender and flavors were aromatic and not too strong! The Surf N Turf was pretty good as well! Meat and shrimp were cooked to perfection. Crisp shrimp and tender meat on a very well crisp bread and most importantly, the bread held up when held to take a bite!

Such delicious hand crafted Cuban food! Owner is delightful and hard working, driven to make consistently tasty authentic dishes. Best Cuban sandwich in town, and the bistec can't be beat! We always end up with leftovers, too!

Very good, visiting from the Caribbean and Riverside CA. We were starving, although they were closing they allowed us in and served us delicious food. We will come back someday. You should visit them also.

I had the Cuban, it was awesome. Loved the sauces especially the Guantanamo. I also had the homemade Guava-Cran, I'm a big fan of juices and I really liked the balanced tastes. Definitely not too sweet and the Guava goes through strong!

So I grew up in little Havana in Miami so I know cuban food, this sort of got the flavor, i need to revisit to get a better review and another down fall is there portion a rather small and a little over priced

Food is good just noticed something odd got charged a “delivery fee” for pickup and only saw it on the receipt in-person not on online order and i added a tip and the receipt does not display my tip so they may be hiding tips from workers or just TWO WEIRD errors with my receipt i would like to see just one price without unnecessary weird fees just raise the price again
