Cucina Alessá reviews
15Delicious pillows of delight! The Gnocchi alla Sorrentina was tasty and perfection. The staff was attentive, friendly and delightful. The prices were great. What a gem to find.
Food was mediocre at best, not at all authentic. Quality was jar of red sauce and store bought gnocchi. I would have actually rather eaten a frozen pizza.
The pesto is oily and bland.
Poor service: When I asked for more time to decide what I wanted to order the waiter just told me the kitchen was going to close.
This is my favorite Italian restaurant in OC. Whenever I’m craving Italian food I head over to Cucina Alessa. Great service and the food is always delicious.
Excellent Italian cuisine. Very unexpected too. Food is fresh and tasty. Very nice low key restaurant meanwhile the service is outstanding. Will come again.
I've always had a good experience dining here but the most recent one was terrible. The food was amazing as usual but our server could not have cared less. At one point, he asked me for my order and then while I was talking and looking right at him, read a text message on his Apple Watch and completely missed what I said. I laughed in his face when he did it, he didn't notice, and then got visibly frustrated with me when he didn't have my order right.
At the end of the dinner he came to the table and handed the check to the only male at the table. I picked it up and handed it to his mom instead while the server was still standing there. He came back and picked the check up from her. When he returned to the table he again handed the paid check to the only male at the table. I left extremely insulted and angry.
Went here for Brunch with the girls. It was amazing. They serve warm bread with a pesto sauce while u wait for your food. We had the bottomless mimosa's (only $15 limit 2hrs). The only thing that sucked was parking. There are only 6 spots, but luckily we were able to find parking in the residential area behind it. Food was amazing and drinks were great (Splash of cranberry with my champagne.)
This is a lovely, cozy restaurant with attentive waitstaff and truly delicious food. The coffee is so good it doesn't need cream or sugar. The pesto and rosemary focaccia was 2-servings worthy! The Della Casa salad was so flavorful with the fresh, shaved Parmigiano and Italian herbs vinaigrette. We also had the Pizza di Parma was such a surprise - and sooo good. We've been here 3 previous times - brunch, lunch, and dinner, and have yet to be disappointed. With Covid protocols in place and outdoor dining, we'll definitely be back.
Excellent italian seafood. A very pleasant and courteous place with easy parking access off PCH. Sitting inside available right now with some social distancing. Reservation preferred I would say given the place seems to be always busy. Service is quick.
Great food phenomenal service! Point and cozy atmosphere. This was probably my fourth time being here and love it! Our waiter was totally on point even though my date is and was cold-hearted and rude! I will be taking my future love here to make new memories.
Came because of the reviews but they mislead us. I ordered Chicken Parmigiana and it tasted so bland. The breading on the chicken was so bland and it tasted burnt and the marinara sauce was also so bland. The chocolate lava cake wasn't great either. It tasted like a microwave chocolate lava cake and there was no "lava (aka chocolate) " that poured out. Not impressed by this location.
I often take my friends to this restaurant with my warmest recommendations. I visit this place often. This recommendation is always successful. The meals are appetizing and the stuff is welcoming and cooperative. Whenever we go to this place we enjoy a gorgeous time. I warmly recommend this restaurant.
Great service and the food is awesome! I ordered the gnocchi with 4 formaggio and it was so good. For dessert I had a tiramisu that was also amazing. I would definitely return!
Worst Old Fashioned I have ever had.starter drinks were so bad, we left.no chance to have a bad dinner with drinks that bad. Especially in an area like Newport Beach.
Overpriced dishes, and not good food. Me and my boyfriend ordered a ravioli pasta, and both plates the pasta came undercooked, it was kinda hard. When we got the check we were shocked to see the price just for what we got. Right after eating both of us felt sick, with upset stomach. Don’t recommend.
The ratings are misleading. Maybe it was the dishes we got. We both got chicken based dishes. She got the pollo parmigiana. And i forgot the one I got, but it has prosciutto and comes with a side of potatoes. We both have had really good Italian food at great Italian spots, and we both agreed that the complimentary bread sticks with pesto and olive oil, the potatoes, and the water were the best things we had. Sadly, the dishes just weren't good: (I would give the place a shot at redemption with a shrimp fettuccini Alfredo if I went again. I for sure don't believe we would get the same dishes again. We had the lava cake for dessert. That was pretty good too. I'm sure the cake was microwaved, but eh. It kinda made up for the chicken. The one time I wanted to try something different lol
