I ordered the Ramen and half Pork Fried Rice combo.

I have to start this review honestly and say the ramen was disappointing. The broth was bland. The pork didn’t add much flavor. I had this delivered so I’m cutting some slack… but I’ve had much better. I’m sure their more specialized ramens, like the spicy miso are much better. The ramen I received was a 2/5.

The pork fried rice on the other hand was great! I’d even go as far to say it’s some of the best I’ve had in the Sawtelle area. I’d give the Pork Fried Rice a 4/5

I’ll have to give this place another try in person. I have a feeling it has potential. The overall meal warrants a 3/5, but since it was a late order and delivered I think a 4 will suffice.

I’ll be back!

Probably top 3 ramen joint in LA if not the best - the vibe is the closest I have experienced to a Tokyo Ramen bar. The Tonkotsu Ramen is fantastic - rich savory broth, melt in your mouth roasted pork and deliciously fresh noodles. The gyoza are also tender and tasty. Yes, it is worth getting off the 405 to eat here - and you can expect a wait as there is almost always a line.

Food, dining experience, and staff were amazing. I got the combo of spicy miso, salad and chaisu. It was a lot of food and feeds two! The sauce on the salad was creamy and soo soo tasty. The noodles in the ramen was the perfect chewy texture. Not to mention, the red ginger they served is the best ginger I have ever had. Paired so well with the chaisu. Our waiter, Chris, was extremely helpful and provided amazing service! Definitely will be back!

Absolutely delicious! This has got to be one of the best ramens I've had. I got the ramen combo with salmon sashimi. The soup wasn't too salty, and the salmon tastes fresh. There was a wait when I went during lunch; however, I think having to wait is pretty common for this restaurant. Highly recommend!

If you're in the mood for some authentic ramen, Daikokuya is definitely worth a try! The ramen is well-balanced and not too heavy or greasy, with perfectly cooked noodles that are sure to satisfy your cravings.

While the chashu donburi (pork bowl) may not be to everyone's liking due to its sweetness, the pork is cooked to perfection and the dish is still worth a try.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is also a highlight, with an interior that transports you to a traditional ramen shop in Japan.

Overall, if you're looking for a satisfying and authentic ramen experience, Daikokuya is a great option to consider. While I wouldn't necessarily give it my highest recommendation, it's certainly worth checking out if you're in the area.

This is the only location that offers the chicken shoyu ramen which I thought was pretty tasty and had a large quantity. We also got spicy tuna roll for appetizer which was great and a good level of spice for us. The ramen was so filling though that we probably didn't need to get the appetizer. Our server was also really nice! I would definitely recommend this place.

The noodles and broth were both rather average. The broth was a little salty and the noodles didn't seem to have that chew to it. Overall just ok. The combo is enough food for two people.

Hokkaido Ramen Santouka is still our go to spot and it's so close with no wait!

The service here is nice. The ambiance was pretty relaxed and cozy.

- Definitely not top tier ramen. Pork broth has strong aftertaste from bitter canned bamboo. Very soft noodles with no chew (4.5/10)
- Karage is avg at best. Need to work on the sauce too. (5/10).
- Takoyaki was fine, nothing special. They need to work on the sauce. (6.1/10)
- Sitting outside tables is a buzz kill tbh. Service not great, but what can you expect at midnight (4/10).

Only selling feature is that it’s open late and easy free parking in the back. So many better ramen joints in LA otherwise.

The chicken teriyaki bowl is really good, everything else is average. A bit overpriced. Service is good, but there is usually a 30-45 minute wait to be seated.

Great quality food with a unique interior that makes you feel like you’re actually in Japan. This place is very popular, particularly in the evenings, so you might need to wait a bit for seating, but it’s definitely worth it!

Pls can someone confirm? Is it normal to have very cold pork chasu served with warm ramen? This was my first… waiter, chef and manager were all in agreement that their meat is meant to be served straight out of fridge at 40 d and if i want it otherwise, it’s up to me to order it grilled? Okaaaay.in all my years of ramen-ing this experience is new to me so am i total noob? I dunno but i can confirm that grilled pork chasu is well better than cold chasu with warm noodles.

Officially my favorite ramen spot. The homemade gyoza is also amazing! Try to eat inside to get the full experience if it's your first time.

They received my order didn't start for over an hour lied to my door dash driver to the point where he called me and said "they're playing games with your food "and then they told me to cancel it on my end so I don't get a refund. This place is sus should be shut down.

Waited 20min on a Sunday night much better than og restaurant in downtown at least an hour. We miss the Teriyaki chicken, same classical taste as before crispy/tender. Broth is lighter than other oily/rich type of ramen.

Got the Daikoku ramen, and the bowl/portion was huge, flavors good but not mind-blowing. Just a solid bowl of ramen. Pretty worth it considering it's a little pricey. My friend got the tsukemen and the broth looked almost identical to the daikoku ramen broth in terms of thickness and consistency. I have a feeling it's the same? Not sure, but it's definitely not as thick as typical tsukemen dipping broth, say at like Tsujita. I would recommend just getting the Daikoku ramen or soup ramen here and leave the tsukemen to Tsujita if in the Sawtelle area. Overall it was a satisfying meal though!
