This is my third farm box from Dare 2 Dream. I am very happy about getting tomatoes and carrots this time! One of the beets is huge! On box delivery days, I always plan to have salad for dinner because the greens need to be consumed ASAP. The first two boxes had arugula and some other leafy greens and they were already kinda wilted and withering. Always expect to get beets. Everything else has been great. The basil was super fragrant and fresh! I made an amazing pesto with it.

Had to take the time to leave these lovely business owners a review! I purchased 6 baby chicks from you folks in August of 2019 and am happy to say all 6 are doing amazingly well! We just picked up two more baby chicks from your farm last week and they are thriving and really starting to open up to us and eat out of our hands today:).
I do have to say it makes me very sad to see the one star reviews, especially if the individuals haven't first reached out to the farm. I'd like to share that a year and a half into having my original six chickens (which came from Dare 2 Dream Farms) they all caught the Avian Flu and that was an unexpected and tremendous undertaking with each of my birds kenneled up inside under heat lamps, with me force feeding them as if they were baby chicks, but they all survived and my vet was absolutely astonished. Their chicken's bloodline is healthy for sure.
I would definitely recommend this farm, but more importantly recommend buyers do a heck of a lot more research before deciding to add chickens to their lives.

Thanks again for the amazing baby chicks! Will be buying from you guys again when we are ready to add more to our family:)

I'm posting this in case anyone thought, like me, that Katie Nelson's experience with her chickens was an isolated instance. I'm also a new chicken owner with brand new coop, feed, and six weeks old chickens purchased from Dare 2 Dream Farms. I purchased them two months ago. Last week, at 14-16 weeks old, one of my chickens started having balance issues. I isolated her and she passed away today from Marek's. No doubt the other two chickens have been exposed. Only time will tell when they will succumb. What can I do but wait?

Bought pullets from them last year. 2 died horrible deaths within months, autopsy showed Marek's disease. They were riddled with tumors. These were our first chickens and we have excellent biosecurity, so didn't come from our flock. The third one was euthanized today, she lived 10 months longer than the others before she succumbed to Marek's. Would not do it again.

I would strongly discourage from buying chickens from this farm. I bought 6 hen-pecked hens and were assured that they were not sick, just pecked on by others.
All six chickens seemed fine for the first couple of weeks. Within a month, it became obvious that they were all really sick. One died of worm infestation within weeks - fortunately it did not infect our existing flock. 2 others died shortly thereafter. Two of the 3 remaining chickens from that group only lay shell-less eggs, one doesn’t lay at all.
It has been a horrifying and heartbreaking experience. Buy elsewhere!

I ordered 4 pullers which were delivered about 10/1/2017.the day before the Atlas Peak Fire. The Black Austrolorp died mysteriously 2 years later (I regret not having a necropsy done), my precious Barred Rock about 15 months ago, the Easter Egger May 31 of 2021, and my last who was only 4 weeks old when we got her, will have to be euthanized tomorrow, 6/23/2021. The last two had a mysterious undiagnosed plaque in the floor of the mouth which even UC Davis VMTH couldn’t diagnose. Not even 4 years old! Not a good experience.will never order hens from them again

They were closed for tours, but we were able to walk around the property and do our own self guided tour. Our toddler loved feeding the goats! There were also ducks, chickens, cows, and horses for him to get really close to. It's a drive off the beaten path, but well worth it. The air here is just so crisp and fresh! Plus, they have a self serve stand where we bought some veggies and baked goods to snack on right on the property, where they had nice tables with a beautiful setting.

Super disappointed by Dare 2 Dream. We ordered our original flock through them with no issue. As happens with chicken ownership, we unfortunately had some losses (to predators and disease). We ordered from Dare 2 Dream again. After ordering 4 more chickens, we drove an hour to pick them up, only to find out only two of our chickens had made it. We left with our two chickens and a promise that the other two would be delivered to us the following week. The following week came, and late on a Tuesday night we received a phone call and were told not only did they no longer have our two chickens, but no chickens of the same breed or age. They offered us one chicken of a different breed that had been pecked and wasn't laying. We politely refused and asked for a refund. What I found the most disappointing was that they weren't super apologetic over the matter, just sort of laughed it off as a matter of fact, stuff happens sort of thing. Won't be returning unfortunately

I bought six young chickens in March 2020. The first day I brought them home, they had blood in their poop. I called them and they told me to treat them for Coccidiosis. That did not help. After the second phone call, I realized I was not getting anywhere with them. My first chicken died and then the second. So, I sent the second chicken up to UC Davis and Dr. Ramos confirmed that the chicken had Marek's Disease. We have had three of those six chickens die within 6 months.

A beautiful little farm, very fun to visit and a welcome break from the monotony during quarantine. We drove up to get two new Easter egger chicks to raise and integrate into our flock, and everyone at the farm was incredibly helpful and pleasant. All recommended safety precautions were being taken, and our new chickies are happy and thriving. They were obviously used to people and being handled, and are just as sweet and funny as can be. Absolutely worth the trip!

There has never been a better time to purchase your flock of backyard chickens, and there is no better family-owned farm to purchase them from! We have been raising chickens for about 6 years, and have sourced them from friends and broody hens: D. After a predator decimated the flock I began searching for the best, local option for buying new birds, and Dare 2 Dream farms is that option.

Jeremy and Doreen went above and beyond to ensure that we had the best birds for our situation. I chose the 'white glove delivery' and Jeremy brought the laying hens just a few days after I purchased them online. But after a day of owning them, we decided that we needed to start with pullets instead. How does one go about exchanging chickens? Well, after explaining our situation, Jeremy and Doreen generously agreed to drive back down to Ventura and swap them out! No extra charge! It was a very unusual situation for them, I'm sure, and yet they were willing to work harder on their end to provide us the best experience.

Our 10 chickens are beautiful, healthy, and thriving. We love them, and can't wait to enjoy their eggs.

We are already planning to expand our coop, so that we can buy more chickens from them. This time we hope to make the lovely drive to Lompoc and pick them up at the farm ourselves. We are eager for a farm tour, to purchase some of their amazing produce, and perhaps sit down to enjoy one of their special farm-to-table meals.

Bought four hens (Leghorns) super happy with them. They have more then doubled in size and keep me and my roommate happy. They roam and eat anything really. Baby Dinos. The quality and knowing they had their shots is peace of mind. They haven't started laying yet but they went from little girls to teens real quick (They fight heh) I love the price and the warm welcome when I bought them. Thank You all from Dare to Dream farms.

Bad experience with the service from Dare to Dream Farms. We ordered a raised Durango chicken coop for $750 online and on checkout thought the $350 delivery fee was excessive and planned to pick it up ourselves. After about three weeks I was notified the coop was ready for pick up but when we arrived it was just the pieces of the coop (about 20 pieces of wood and sections and a bag of screws and no written instructions) and was told we had to assemble it ourselves. I talked to the owner and received no sympathy or offer to make it right. She said they think the website is very clear that this is unassembled (it is not) and it needs to be assembled. She said we should have paid the $350 delivery fee and then we would’ve received an assembled coup. I suspect it’ll be an easy fix for this business: just sell it for $1100 and tell people it comes delivered fully assembled and ready to go, and don’t sell it in pieces for $750.

My husband and I drove in from San Bernardino County for the introduction to keeping backyard chickens last weekend. The class was very informative and we were glad we made the trip there. We look forward to our next visit to your farm. Thank you!

Dare 2 Dream Farms is truly a special place! I had the privilege of working here for 6 months and can attest to the passion, heart, and thoughtfulness that goes into the whole operation.

The owners, Jeremy and Megan, are wonderful people who believe in something and wake up every morning to make it happen. They have expanded their farm and continue to improve the workflow and offerings. That’s not even talking about how cool and fun they are!

Of course the bosses could not do it without the whole team, one that is more like a family than co-workers. The jobs vary, but the professionalism and heart are present through it all.

If you buy chickens here, know that they were monitored and cared for by Rachel and Mau who are extremely knowledgeable and kind. Beyond the animals, Rachel is a wizard in the kitchen and makes an entire line of natural, healthy beauty products.and the fresh bread.and the cheese. I could go on, but to sum up, if you stop by the farm stand, you have to pick some of those up!

Of course they have the organic garden where they are always growing something fresh for the season to sell at the farm stand. Trust me, you can taste the difference! If you’re local, it’s absolutely worth your drive over there to have the best produce in town.

One other thing they do is make these unbelievably gorgeous chicken coops! Buy one of these and your new chickies will be living in style!

To say that I’m a forever fan of Dare 2 Dream Farms is an understatement. You cannot go wrong trusting in these people!
