DAV Thrift Stores reviews
12This thrift store is best for clothing and small items. It has a small collection of records and cds. The selection of housewares is poor through there is plenty of seasonal items available.
The DAV at this location is once again worth visiting, thanks to the efforts of the new manager and the hard working staff! The store has a lot more inventory and floor space for goods than the previous manager had arranged it. The back sorting area for employees has been reduced, which makes a lot more room for goods to be displayed and sold. It makes shopping there a lot more fun!
When did they get so expensive? !? ! $18 for a pair of used pants? ! 1$10 for a shirt!? That is insane. Go next door to Emerald, they have thrift store prices and a larger selection.
I never have shopped there, but it is a great place that gives to a good cause to donate your items to. I have been donating to them for years, and the better portion of my interactions have been pleased in my dealing with them. I am just disappointed that they have stopped taking furniture items such as beds. I feel they might be losing out by not accepting items such as a beautiful wood bed (headboard, rails, footboard). Their loss, I guess it will be donated to AmVets or Salvation Army.
Awesome visit! Clean and the workers were efficient as well as friendly! Ty for the visit! Pass! On
Love this thrift store. It's my weakness. They have wonderful antiques also with a free parking lot downtown.
I went there to purchase XL adult pull up garments. I ask if there were going to receive any more. I was told no more at this store. My mother on fix income so when I found they had a lot I purchase them. I also saw there clothing went up 1.25 more.
I bought a table and a chair today. I told cashier I would return to pick it up and I did.
I arranged for a dolly and I had 2 friends to help me. We arrived at 4: 55, but the door was already locked, the lights were off and I could see several employees gathered on the other side of the door.
I stood, with the dolly and my friends waiting to get my table (paid - receipt in hand) I left 10 feet inside the door.
I hear murmuring and giggles from the 8-10 employees just before the "manager" unlocked the door. The community service/offenders/workers rushed out and the manager hurried to lock the door despite my receipt, the early lockout, or the proximity of the item. "We already clocked out, " she smirked. I said "I already paid for it AND I have been standing out here awhile. BEFORE 5 o'clock! "
She just walked away. I asked her name. She said Marcy. She's probably lieing, but Marcy is what she said.
I have been a customer for. 40 years.
Today, was the last time I spend a dime in DAV!
Business in the front party in the back. It's a boutique in the front and a regular thrift store in the back half. Decent prices.
The woman at the front counter was very rude when my friend tried asking her a question about if they were hiring. She seemed like she was being bothered and her whole demeanor was very rude. 2 stars only because they did have some nice things at reasonable prices.
Pros:
-Extravagant selections of furniture and home goods. These are really pretty items.
-Okay Staff. It seems they are trying. They gave me a really good deal which we haggled. I was surprised to get it $50 off an $80 item.
-Spacoius and clean with okay inventory. Mainly beautiful furniture and clothes. Nothing much misc.items.
-Has some books but hardly any movies.
Neutral:
Antique 10% / thrift 90%
Parking Meters (25 cents for 15 mins)
Cons:
-Incredibly expensive. A shirt I found was $20. It has SF 49ers on it so the people here do there research. Most clothes average $5 a peice.
-Furniture and small decorative items is very expensive.
Summary: It’s an okay thrift store. I don’t know much about any discount events. Just very expensive. Makes Goodwill start to look cheap again.
They have really try to upgrade that place that it's not even a thrift store anymore. They have Chandelier's and they're closed today! Then they don't open till 11 all other days!
We went to Emerald thrift store next door. I think a lot of people will be heading that way. So sad they messed up
