Dave's Hot Chicken, Monrovia CA

Food is alright except when you order from doordash the restaurant doesn't give the option to ask for extra sauce or pickle unless you pay almost 3 dollars for a cup which isn't necessary. When trying to call the restaurant there is no answer and you're hung up on. The restaurant when I am able to go in is always clean and looks amazing and the people working are nice although one occasion they put my to go order with online orders so I waited longer than needed and food was cold when they finally realized I was still sitting in the store.

The girl who works the register is amazing. She really helps explain the menu. As a first-time customer, she really helped me get something I'd like.

I had heard really good things about Dave's Hot Chicken, but I came away less than impressed. I tried both the chicken tenders and chicken sliders, which, in actuality, were both chicken tenders, it's just that one came on a bun w/ some toppings. I also ordered a side of fries, and both items came w/ their dipping sauce.

I ordered both chicken items w/ the "hot" sauce, which was plenty hot. The problem was, it was bland. Whatever spice they use on their fries was unnoticeable. They also don't salt their fries b/c of the spice they use, so it was unremarkable. The sauce they used seemed to be nothing more than mayo, ketchup, and some ingredient that made it sweet. Frankly, the chicken was hot w/out any real flavor. I was really surprised at how bland the food was.

Other than this, the staff was friendly and helpful, so they get an A+ rating, but unfortunately, the food wasn't my favorite.

The chicken is delicious I loved it but there is no variety on the menu and it is a bit expensive

Completely messed up the order they gave my Uber Eats driver. Had drive down there to correct it. They admitted they messed up and said they would fix it. Wait 30 minutes before they re-made my 3 meal order. Never again

Tried Dave’s Hot Chicken today for the first time. The staff were very friendly, professional, and extremely helpful. We ordered the number three which came with one tender and one slider, french fries or you could sub it for macaroni and cheese which we did we got Miles and medium and medium and hot. I can tell you that the ribs are much different than the sauces, hot wings. I can normally have a medium and hot but the rub was so hot that the mild was extremely hot. I didn’t know what to expect because I have never been to Dave’s hot chicken, so I was surprised when the chicken wasn’t saucy, the kale salad in the sandwich with the pickles and the Dave sauce was good. The sandwich size is really big I would say it’s more of a sandwich than a slider. I was so full I couldn’t even eat the tenders so I had to bring it home. The Dave sauce is really tasty. The kale slaw is good I’m not really sure about The macaroni and cheese however, it does help with the burning sensation you get from the chicken the chicken was cooked well and it was nice and juicy inside but again the rub was layers of flavor and a little bit on the hot side so when ordering definitely try the mild and may be a medium before getting all crazy we were told by Kylie, that if you try it with some honey, but that’s a must. They also suggested that the number two was the most popular item on the menu. However, we went with the number three so we had a variety we got icewater which we were pleasantly surprised to find out that they had baby ice, the seating was great and the paintings inside of the location were super cool and again the staff was extremely helpful and friendly and came to check on us after they serve the food to see how we were liking everything not once but twice if you haven’t been 10 out of 10 totally recommend checking it out again if you’re expecting buffalo wings, this is not buffalo wings. This is a whole different experience, but again I recommend.

Me and 4 others first time here. We were all pleasantly surprised by how good it was. The freshness and flavor of everything was great. The place was very clean and the staff was nice. I will definitely be back.

Tried the two tenders combo, extra hot, with a side of kale slaw. Everything tasted great, but I wish the chicken was spicier. Extra Hot was more like Extra Medium to me.
