Love this cafe, I visited it last summer & I can’t forget the experience. Coffee was top notch & the place is so nice & cozy. The staff are friendly too.

Cannot really speak on the surfboards or other items on sale, but I can vouch for the coffee experience. The espresso drinks are good, but I recommend getting a coffee off the research menu. Maybe the best coffee experience you can have in Orange County. I happened to chance into a conversation with the manager, and she clearly really cares about specialty coffee. She selects coffee from some of the best roasters in the world.

PICKY ARGENTINIAN BARISTA HERE, I'm in love with this place, so far the best coffee that I tried being in the states, I'm pretty much going there every weekend. The people is lovely, espressos are consistent throughout time and the place is beautiful and clean. It checks every single checkmark for me. Edit: try the "one + fun" it's the greatest idea ever.

A hidden gem in Newport Beach near Westside Costa Mesa, Daydream is a chill multi-roaster cafe meets surf shop. They have indoor seating with both tables and a bar, which I recommend if you enjoy watching how your drink is concocted.

I went with Alec’s recommendation for the iced Cosmosus Caramel with oat milk, and it was served in a tiki glass with candied pineapple on top. When you go to take a drink, you can really smell the pineapple, and the drink tastes super creamy and caramely, with just the slightest hint of acidity from the pineapple.

To get a taste of the coffee, I recommend a shot of espresso, which they serve with Mountain Valley mineral water as a palette cleanser.

They also sell a wide array of unique ceramic mugs, apparel, and, of course, surf boards. This is the first surf shop where I’ve enjoyed such quality coffee, and I love that they are always changing up their offerings to bring their customers unique, vibrant, quality coffee experiences. I can’t wait to visit again soon!

Nothing but great things to say about this little shop. A truly unique board selection in the Research Center, what a great idea. Vibe in the shop is light, airy, and welcoming. Coffee drinks are on point. Spreading aloha daily.

Daydream is one of my go-to places for coffee and friendly service. Espresso drinks range from the humble latte to the aficionado’s single espresso (which I’ve never had but see often). It’s also a surf shop with gifts and boards. Mind the parking on a weekday as it is in a working area of town. For me it’s a nice walk, but it’s worth a drive to enjoy a great coffee, local pastry (if there are any left), and relaxed vibe for any age coffee lover.

Delicious coffee and tea shop with such a cool and good surfer vibe. It's semi-near the coast and has enough parking to accommodate people easily. The coffee was delicious even as I got a simple latte and the specialty drink was also delicious.

So much good vibes here! The baristas were super helpful and friendly. I had the Daydream Grog 2.0 which was served in a Tiki glass which rounded off the experience nicely!

Man does this corner of a row of warehouses pack a punch. Great atmosphere inside for a unique number of specialty drinks alongside your usual caffeine go tos. Shop is stocked with both the own brand’s merch and a selection of niche surf/beach brands. Board selection is impressive. Check out the research center program for a great deal on trying out their expansive quiver

I was in town for a few days and needed a high quality rental. A great selection of boards for rent, from fishes and hulls to modern nose riders, all at a great price. Staff was knowledgeable about the boards as well, unlike other rental places I have used in the past. 2 boards for 4 days was the same price as 1 low quality board from beachside shops. The shop has a vintage feel to it and is a cool spot to hang out as well as grab a good coffee too. I'll definitely be returning when I'm back in town.

Great space, good coffee, and a killer selection of boards. You can stop here for your coffee fix, and you can also rent surfboards. The staff is super nice and helpful, and there are generally some really chill customers in here as well - nice place to spend some time, meet some people.

$100 surf board rental for 7 days by the way... Get out there and surf!

This coffee/surf shop is very cool. The coffee is great, the baristas are helpful and nice, and the atmosphere of the shop is somewhere you want to hang out and shop. Will definitely visit this spot again
