Del Mar Beach Hotel

Great rooms, perfect location. Service not the best. They seem under staffed. But overall, would come back due to location and price.

Checkin was easy and staff are very friendly. Room was much larger than expected, clean, and welcoming. The property itself has great outdoor seating/social areas and the view is amazing.

We loved our recent stay at the Del Mar Beach Hotel. The beds are one of the most comfortable beds we have slept on! As an avid traveler this is the first thing I notice in a hotel - the bed and is it comfortable? ! After all being its a hotel and in the business of "sleeping over, " the beds should be good! You would be surprised that most hotels don't have updated newer beds. But the Del Mar Beach Hotel does! I would say this is a prime spot for being right on the beach and close to everything in this cute little town! The only things I noticed; the walls are thin - we had our tv on pretty low and someone was pounding on our wall at 9: 30 at night.that was pretty annoying. And the light from the hallway was so bright we could see it through our shuttered window - maybe a curtain might give the room some added protection for the light leaking in!?

We went for a conference and occupied most of the hotel. Great service, clean, nicely renovated and right on the water. It was great to wake up in the morning to such an amazing view of the beach.

Great hotel! On the beach, beautiful view of the ocean and sunsets! Hotel was amazing, all new rooms! The hotel has beach chairs and umbrella's for guests to use, free of charge, Also, a couple of bikes you can borrow and ride around! You can't beat the location, you're on the sand!

Nice typical American hotel, clean, well located, on the seafront! We spent a lovely night in this room.

If you're looking for the California experience this is the place to stay. The hotel was clean, safe and it is truly a quaint. I do think they should rethink their resort style pricing & the daily resort fees. I felt the staff kept secret what was included in the resort, other then the filter water. Which should be standard at these rates. The beach chairs, towels, umbrellas were kept under lock and key & when asked if they had any it was always "give me a few minutes and I will see what we have. " Then the items were left on the patio, not knowing if it was for you or another guest. A true resort with these prices would have an attendant over the beach equipment & set you up on the beach instantly. Parking was an issue the entire time of our 5 day stay. Although the staff tried to easy the situation I do think folks should know going into booking at this hotel, parking can be issue. One night when we returned to the hotel around 10pm, the front desk person said "well no one is staying in the bungalow you can park there drive or I'd have to tell you to find street parking. " Of the 5 nights stay we found a parking in the lot once. Del Mar is very nice and close to many walking eating places. But for the amount Del Mar Beach Hotel charges I was hoping for a resort feel instead of a do it yourself type of vibe.

They wouldn't move my room after I complained about the upstairs neighbors stomping on the floor.

My new go to for San Diego trips. Great place for family vacations. Looking forward to going back.

Such an awesome hotel! Staff was great, and they even have cool beach toys for their guests to use. (Chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, surf boards, etc)

We had a great stay at the Del Mar Beach Hotel. We found the hotel, and surrounding grounds to be well maintained and clean. Then too, our room was sparkling clean, modern, and comfortable. Really nice! A shout out to the amazing staff. They are professional; yet, down to earth. We hope to visit again soon. Thank you!

I had a 2 day, 1 night stop in Del Mar for business, and their weekly rate was actually comparable to a nicer 4 star hotel. So I thought I'd give it a try. The setting is amazing, the rooms are so clean and decorated well. The staff are so friendly & cheerful. Watching the sunset & surfers on the beach with a glass of wine from their lobby was phenomenal. I will 100% stay here for future business travel. Poseidon's restaurant was steps away too, and was fantastic.

The staff was great. The location was incredible. The rooms were good size. I just needed some TLC. The bathroom door had no lock on it, and the bathroom was small. But I was there 3 years ago, and from what I understand they have totally redone the rooms.

Location is great. Was perfect for my family. Bit of thin walls but not too bad. Right on the beach and a 5-10 minute walk to the little town with all the shops, food ect.

Lovely little beach hotel, everything was brand new / restored but it has a retro charm. Cozy and enjoyable even though it wasn’t ideal beach weather. The staff was very hospitable and we’d love to come back for the sound bath!

Wow! Amazing stay. Andy at reception is top notch. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and just loves his job. I would come back to stay again just to say hello to him. The newly renovated rooms are so boutique like and comfortable. The beach is steps away from your room, You can hear the waves at night. We stayed on the 2nd floor but really all rooms are great. Complimentary glass of wine at check in is a nice touch. I can’t wait to go back.
