Del Mar Pet Hospital reviews
15Had to wait about 20 minutes after my appointment time, no explanation and wasn't told there was a wait. Wasn't that busy but maybe short staffed. Staff were cordial and efficient. A little on the expensive side but convenient.
We drive all the way from Sacramento for all of our dog’s primary care needs. Malone is just in love with Dr. Sullivan and all the wonderful techs at Del Mar. Dr. Sullivan won our anxious boy over immediately with her soft and obviously caring nature. She alone is well worth the 3 hour drive, so if you’re local, LUCKY YOU!
Nothing but fabulous things to say about all interactions whether by phone or in person with everyone we’ve spoken to, and again, could not ask for a better DVM than Dr. Sullivan.
Malone loves Del Mar and so do we!
The staff has been incredibly helpful to me in an emergency situation. I am so grateful for them and happy to finally find a local veterinarian. Thank you Love, Chloe & Bumpy's mom
Camping and got a next day appointment for my dog. EVERYONE was great. THANK YOU to everyone at Del Mar Pet Hospital.
Also they helped with a referral to an eye doctor for next day service.
Do not hesitate. They CARE!
Went here for years until my bby had an allergic reaction to her bordatella vaccine. She had fever, and hives on her body. So we took her in and they told us nothing was wrong with her, and that it'll go away eventually. Not trusting this, knowing our dog and how ill she obviously felt, we ended up taking her to the pet hospital on Pacific. They immediately took her in and gave her some medication/shots to treat her. Unsurprisingly, she was back to herself in a matter of hours. Obviously, not going back here again, after they turned us down despite our worries. Our elder dog also had a negative reaction to that vaccine so we are familiar with the negative reactions. Yet, the nurse/dr (dont know what they were), had the audacity to tell my mom she was exaggerating and being dramatic as if we had no reason to worry. Cant imagine what couldve happened had we have listened to them.
I also had a previous incident with my elder Pom. I took him in for a vaccine (before covid), and they had me wait in a room. I had him on my lap and out of nowhere an older lady comes rushing in, throws a towel on top of him and tries to pick him up. All in a fluid fast movement. My doggie and I were obviously startled, and he bit me in response. You'd think working with dogs itd be commmon sense not to handle them in that manner. The lady didnt even let me know she was going to pick him up she just rushed in and did it. And called him a bad dog for biting me in response as if its not obvious any dog would react that way, even I got mad. Yet the lady found it reasonable, and I heard her talking badly of me for getting upset about how she handled it.
Weird how yall call people dramatic for showing worry, or being upset for a lack of common sense. I didnt throw a fit either times to get called "dramatic, " Im not a Karen.
Made appt. Got there and they changed and lost my appt twice and 3rd time they didn't even finish grooming my pet.
Very kind and caring. My dog wasn't too pleased to go.but she recieved the treatment needed and is home now.
I've had a 20 year relationship with Del Mar Pet Hospital, top notch people from vet techs to all the doctors, thumbs up here
Very helpful veterinarians and support staff. Expensive, but all vets are expensive these days.
Del Mar is the best, they've been taking care of our furry family members for over 25 years. I wouldn't trust our babies to anyone else!
Really great facility, took my 2 dogs the day I called.super happy with the care.
Would reccomend
1. Staff was nice, but not reliable.
2. They charged me for 2 doses of Cheristin at $58. They are 34.99 for a 3 count at stores.
I paid $150 deposit for physical exam to mainly have my new kittens ears checked for mites (I have an older indoor cat). I reminded a male worker to have my kittens ears checked for ear mites when handing her over. (due to Cova)
Spoke to vet Rhiannon Sullivan after exam and was not told she had mites.
She said my kitten can only get her rabbies shot at 6 months, and supposedly gave kitten her first FVRCP. They did not provide ant serial #vaccine tags for proof of dose given.
They included a dose of Frontline with purchasing the kitten package. (Which is confusing as the front desk young lady said Frontline does not work)
3.2 weeks later I had my kitten spayed and microchipped, to find out she has ear mites (bad) and could of had her rabies shot at 3 months. I did not have propper proof of her first shots, so I had to pay again for shots and ear mite meds.along of having to pay for meds for my older cat. My kitten could have been treated in advance.
Please do your homework prior to taking your pet to this place. Sometimes places are to good to be true. I trusted this place, and want my money back.
I have had compassionate care for my English Bulldog “Maggie” the 5 years I had her. They were there for me when I had to make the decision to put her down. The staff and doctors are incredible. I highly recommend this place if you want compassionate loving care for your beloved 4 legged family member.
Dr Koploy is amazing. Although we are out of state she helped review all the reports and give me the information I needed to take the next step with my aging puppers. You can't underestimate trust when facing major medical
Issues with your pet and I felt very confident in her and her advice! I highly recommend!
