Desert Island Country Club reviews
8Very well trained and courteous staff. Respectful and easy to deal with. Sets the tone for a nice round of golf.
Great course conditions, staff at checkin very helpful, guy at carts nice, good range to get warmed up, greens ran nice, fairways just a tad on the longer side but nice and green. Couple items that I found curious: no cart girl, the bar at the turn is closed, and the maintenance crew "policy" to not take golfers into account. I say policy because not a single crew member made any attempt to accommodate players. Whether you were on the tee box or putting out, not one stopped to wait, not one pulled off the fairway to allow you to hit off the tee box, etc. In fact the only time I saw someone stop was to talk with another crew member (after driving right by the green I was putting on). I recognize they've a job to do but something that I've not experienced at ANY other golf course.
Clubhouse has been recently renovated and upgraded. Very welcoming spot, public golf and appealing public spaces.
Desert Island golf course is a high class facility you should play. The conditioning is amazing with fairways that are well manicured and greens that are in super shape. There are a variety of tees to challenge yourself and the architecture of the holes are amazing. Yes, there are a couple of true Island holes. I was paired with two nice golfers and we all had a great time!
Golf course was in great shape and a very playable track. Pro shop staff was awesome. TJ, Lanny and Alexis made us feel special and made the day very enjoyable. Will be back.
What a great course! Early tee time a d everything was ready to go, range, snack bar and carts with LED lights! Fairways were green, the greens were immaculate and slow at first with the dew then they firmed up and ran better. Great views and the 9th fairway island is challenging! Over all a great course to score very well, if you can keep it out of the water!
Golf course just reopened after seeding the grass. Fairways in great condition, greens a little slow right now. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Weather here at the beginning of November is amazing. Blue skies, no wind. 70° in the middle of the day. Enjoyed our 2 days of golf very much. Thanks staff.
I've played golf here a few times and it's my favorite course in Palm Springs. It's not just a beautiful setting, stunning lake and very playable course, it's the highest level of private-members-club service on a public course. I love how fun and informal it is too - there's a cute coffee/cocktail pit-stop on the course for refreshments. The food and cocktails in the restaurant/bar is so much better than other golf clubs too. I have been a couple of times for dinner, without playing golf first. There is an awesome retro style lounge bar too with pool and original artworks. It feels like you're in a movie. All in all, just a great experience. Highly recommend for people who don't want stuffy golf, but want fun with a touch of glamor/style.
