In the emergency department they judge you and will treat you and your problems according to their tolerance and bias. The nurses individually were very kind but the overall care was lacking and substandard. You must be your own advocate to ensure you receive adequate health care.

I have never felt so heard in a busy emergency room. Nurse Jessica took her time to hear my concern and explained my situation perfectly to a wonderful er Dr Mr Ashby. I was monitored closely by nurse Shawnte until my situation improved. No one likes the er but I was very well taken care of. So grateful.

The hospital service is a 5 but if I had to rate the ER I'd give it 3 stars because it takes forever to get admitted when you go through the ER.

I checked in my elderly dad who's a diabetic, with mobility issues - he had an infection with sugar levels above 500. Checked in 9: 30p approx and he got a ER bed around 6a and a hospital room around 9: 30a the following day. Yes I know it's by emergency priority. Other than that the nurses are friendly and kept me well informed.

First time coming to this ER and I have to say that it has been the best experience. From the check-in staff, RN’s, LVN, and the doctor everyone was extremely kind and gentle with my mother. Thank you so much.

Terrible place. I waited over 7 hours in the emergency room to see a doctor and never saw a doctor yet. A woman with a deep gash on her forehead waited 6 hours before getting into see a doctor. Patients in back were still waiting for a doctor. Some worse pain than others.

Would give a better rating but the charge nurse has little man syndrome and the male nurse behind the desk just gossiped and butted into other people's business. Very rude people. Went in for a hurt back and they just put me in a hard plastic chair for 6 hours and paid me no attention. Won't let me leave a no star rating but that's all they deserve.

I had great care after my surgery! My nurses were all caring and polite! They made sure that I was comfortable at all times and what made things even better, I got a get well card from them that’s very kind of them to do that for me. I appreciated each and every person that helped me along the way.

I'm new to San Bernardino county first time at this Hospital. Outstanding Dr.s and Nurses very informative about what procedures I was going to be having and very nice and calm surroundings. A little problem with the wait time in the lobby but service desk would gladly answer any questions about the wait with a smile and very good attitude. I appreciated that. I recommend this hospital to any other I've been.

I recently had surgery and the surgical team pre and post op was so awesome.

All of the nursing team and everyone on the med surge unit while I was there were great at making sure I was comfortable. I highly recommend Desert Valley.

Back in 2004, my (then-) wife and I talked to DVH about having a natural birth. This is not always done when the mother previously had a C-section (and she'd already had one), but they assured us that we did not have to do a C-section.

About a week before we checked her in, the policy apparently changed.

That was bad. But what's worse is what happened in the OR during the birth.

The medical staff invited me in to witness the birth, but put me behind a partition, which seemed pointless. Afterwards, though, I discovered the likely reason why they did it.

My daughter was half-way out of the birth canal when, according to Mom, they pushed her back in so they could do the C-section.

They could have killed her.

Later we found that the cash price for a C-section was $4000 higher than the cash price for a natural birth. We were insured, but I'm sure they price they negotiated for a C-section with our insurer was still the higher price.

I will not ever deal with the greedy hacks at Desert Valley again. The only thing worse than Dr. Prem Reddy's greed (and incidentally, in addition to DVH, he owns five other hospitals in/near Los Angeles) is the fact that his staff was actually willing to do what they did.

I call "Doctor" Reddy "Doctor McHospital" - but the fact is, I've never been treated as badly at McDonalds as I was at DVH.

If I ever get into a bad accident, and I'm ejected from my car onto Bear Valley Road, right in front of the hospital, I would rather die than be treated at Desert Valley. There is a special place in hell reserved for people who do what they did to my child.

Only reason I gave a 4 is the Emergency Room was a very unpleasant experience. When we were there very early morning on the 27th of Aug no one really seems to care. I know its a very busy place but most of the people there are very sick and need some compassion. Once we were able to get a bed in er a couple of the girls in there were so rude to people and did as little as possible. I think they picked the wrong occupation. But once we were transferred to room 292, everyone was fantastic. A want to give a shout out to nurses Jo who went above and beyond to help my husband to be comfortable. Then there was Abigail who also was so comforting and always ready to listen and even spent time listening to my husband in the middle if the night when he was in so much pain. And Jen also was so sweet, patient and a great listener. I want to thank them so much for being there for my husband. They are all wonderful examples of a professional nurse.
I felt too that the hospital was kept very clean, which is so important.
