DGS Parking Garage, Sacramento CA

This garage is open to the public. California state employees' flat rate is $8/day with department ID. IDK the rate for others. Monthly rates are available.
Plenty of parking spaces still at 7: 40a.m, including many for suburbans and longer/wider trucks and vans. Always seems very clean. Sometimes, the elevator door closes, but the car doesn't move. I just press open door, get out, wait for door to close call it again, door opens, and on this second time the car moves.

Would have loved to park here to be closer to the three locations my kids are visiting for a school field trip so there's less walking with 6 little kids but cash only? Really? Who, in this day and age, doesn't accept credit cards? At least Capitol Garage at 10th and L only adds about a quarter mile of walking distance and they accept credit cards!

Located close to the capital, a few blocks away from K st. Its decent place for parking, and it isn't too pricey. Plenty of signs posted that its cash only. So don't be surprised when you drive out.

Clean public parking near the capitol swing space. Only accepts cash is the downfall and there are no ATMs nearby. However I would still recommend it compared to other parking garages in the area. Both Cal fire and dgs park here. If you're a state employee get on the lottery list if you're looking for a parking garage.

Bring cash. It makes zero sense, but this garage only accepts cash for public users. And no there isn’t any ATM anywhere nearby.
