Discovery Cube Los Angeles reviews
21Loved this place! Saw a lot of great animals and I'm glad they were rescued and well taken care of now. Will definitely be back again to have a closer encounter with the animals BUT they did raise the prices.
The stuff here is OK. But the reason I’m giving two stars it’s because I got a really really really really really bad strep throat infection here. Like 105° fever and everything. My throat felt horrible. Don’t come here unless you want to get infected with some horrible disease.
Fun for the kids. We joined as members and went 2-3 more times. But you could easily see and do everything in 1 trip. Exhibits rotate every so often and the standing exhibits are good, but not amazing. Staff is always friendly and very helpful.
If you live in the area, take advantage of the family membership. Kids love it (as do most adults!) but it's a bit pricey for a one-time visit for a family. The snack bar offers healthy meals, again a little on the pricey side, but you can also bring on your own snacks. There are a number of permanent and rotating exhibits, so there's always something new and different to explore. And, if you're a hockey fan, the LA Kings activity area is outstanding. A popular spot for school field trips, STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) learning is our children's greatest hope for their futures, and "the Cube" is an excellent place to start.
Having visited so many other science museums with my kid and can say that the Discovery Cube is a pretty good one. It has a range of technology involvement, not static displays with flip boards but a tremendous amount of interaction.
I recommend it for anyone with school-aged children.
BRING YOUR OWN FOOD! The prices are rediculous for the amount and quality of food you get. There's a reason none of their food is on display to give you an idea of what you'd want. They know if you saw it beforehand, you'd starve first. $9 for this Dollar Store quality pizza.
Great place for kids, but this one is a lot smaller than the Santa Ana one. If you go here or the Santa Ana one often, it gets a little boring for the kids.
OMG this place is one of my favorite for kids. It's amazing! It's wonderful! It's impressive! You and your little ones will love it. I'm pretty sure you gonna come again and again! They have a lot of fantastic activities for kids from 1 y.o. And older. Also they have a 3d movie theater. The theater is big enough and all movies have a great 3d effect. My toddler is obsessed with this plays. We gonna come again soon. Definitely recommend!
Very small. I was hoping they had like a children's play center. Example the market has baskets and a scanner but you cannot put the items into your cart. There is a huge outdoor playground but it doesn't belong to the Discovery cube center
What I love about this place is that they have exhibits all the time. They had an Eric Carle exhibit which is one of my child's favorite authors. It was a really cool and rare experience. It's good to have a membership because there are alot of cool things for the kids to do.
Super fun place! All hands on science activities that are very thorough in details. I really liked the variety of activities offered and our favorite was the supermarket! I will say this is geared older. Personally, I feel best suited for ages 7-12. Lots of parking and prices were ok. Think parents should be cheaper, but overall fair price. We didn’t see any dinos, as shown in advertisements. Some exhibits could use updating or refurbishment. Bathrooms downstairs were not clean, but staff was super friendly.
The inside is nice more for 7years old more likely like a hands on scince museum but there’s Definitely more to that the horses and ponies are 5 dollars a ride only on Saturday are better expirence than that worth a drive
Excellent place for the kids ages 6-12. Good place to learn about some things connected to Los Angeles area, from sports teams to Santa Ana winds and nutrition.
My kids love the very time.it's always very special and the volunteers make it even more special things you for being there.
Its a really fun place to take your children to have fun while learning. Not going to lie, I personally like the second floor where the LA Kings section was.
It’s a good place to bring the kids when it’s 100 degrees outside. However it is really small l, my preschooler is about to outgrow it and the exhibits don’t change at all.
The only thing I like was the market game they had because we had to find things like the food and had to skam it love that part only but the on the second floor it was hot up their so that why I give it 3 stars
Expensive $54 for 2 adults and 1 child, they no longer have the dinosaur exhibit we drove 2 hours because I saw all the pictures of the dinosaurs but that was "last summer's exhibit" word from employee. Half of their stuff was closed the 2nd floor only had the hockey area open when we went. The dress up and imagination area was also closed which was another big disappointment.
Amazing, bigger than OC Cube. And there's a park outside next to the FREE parking! My kids loved it. It was well worth the drive.
It was okay. My three year old had fun mostly because of the temporary Hot Wheels exhibit. In general I think it's better suited for people over 10 years old. It was a reasonable but not good value at $34 for one adult and one child. I will probably only go back on their once a month free admission days for LA County DWP customers.
