Discovery Whale Watch, Monterey CA

Choosing from the many whale watching companies in Monterey was a difficult task. I chose Discovery, and was not disappointed. It is run by professionals, and they employ the best marine biologists. Their boats are big enough to be stable in the ocean, powerful enough to move between locations, and small enough for you to see what you have come for. The captain put a drone up, which has given us some great views. The biologists on board took some great pics with decent cameras and these were shared with the group. We were a group of 10 people, aged from 7 to 70. They answered all our question's and explained everything you wanted to know at the appropriate level. I cannot recommend this company more highly.

The tour was great. Great guide (Isaiha), the boat was comfortable and not too crowded, lots of whales, seelions and dolphins.

Isaiah and the rest of the crew were super knowledgeable, funny and hospitable! Saw 4-5 whales, a massive pod of dolphins amongst sea otters, seals and sea lions. Would absolutely go again! Thank you!

Yes - book this trip! I would highly recommend Discovery Whale Watch as they helped me fulfill a lifelong bucket list item of seeing whales and dolphins in the wild. I know that it's always a gamble to go out looking because you never know BUT the payoff, if you do see something, is worth the risk! We saw three humpbacks and several hundred common dolphin. I would go with Discovery for a few reasons. #1, It's a smaller, more personalized experience than some of the other tours in the area. #2, The naturalist, Isaiah, who guided our experience was fantastic. His energy, knowledge and personableness made the trip even more special.

This was the most stunning trip, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable…. The captain found the most enormous selection of stunning sea life to view…. It was a magical experience and the highlight of our entire trip to California…. Masses of thanks, I hope to do it again if I’m lucky enough… Isaiah was SUCH an interesting, fun and cool guide x

We had the most incredible experience Whale watching with this team! Our guide was Isaiah alongside Captain Danny and we couldn’t fault these guys. They were happy to answer any questions we all had and have so much knowledge and genuine love/care for what they do and everyone on the boat. We not only saw two different types of Dolphins, but we were also very lucky to witness three Humpback Whales playing and splashing close to the boat. Isaiah and Danny allowed the whole boat to enjoy every moment and I know everyone couldn’t be more thankful. Thank you all so much! My partner and I still can’t stop talking about our tour with your company - we would 100% recommend!

We had a girlfriend reunion this past weekend so I treated them to a whale watching experience. And that it was. We left with goosebumps snd speechless. This was not my first time doing it but it was the best time I ever have had. We experienced hundreds of dolphins, Rizzo dolphins and humpback whales that were playful. I have never seen anything like it but would give it an eleven out of ten. Thank you to the captain and team

Awesome first time experience! Knowledgeable and friendly staff/crew. I appreciated the debriefing/heads up about what to expect ahead of time. Saw humpback whales, common dolphins, sea lions, a bunch of native birds, and just enjoyed the scenery and vibes. Most importantly, they care for the marine and wildlife and it really shows.

Absolutely amazing experience! Saw plenty of whales, dolphins and sea otters which was expertly narrated by Andrew who was on deck and at hand to any question! Brilliant trip and so worth every penny, would highly recommend!

Just 20 minutes in we saw our first whales … a 400 strong pod of dolphins, topped off with two whales near beach surging, amazing display … definitely worth the money, fantastic knowledgable crew. High light of our trip to Monterey

This was an excellent whale watching experience! The crew was very well educated and equip for the Monterrey Bay. We went during October which boasted humpback whales, dolphins, sea lions, sea otters and many variety of sea bird. Would love to do it again during another season to catch other varieties of wildlife!
