Dog & Cat Veterinary Clinic

My friend had two sick kittens and the Vet refused to see two kittens together. The vet misdiagnosed the kitten and it had to be put down and was not tested for the disease she finally died from. This used to be a great hospital when Dr. Gunner was there, not so much now. Sad

Loved this place! Staff and Dr. Was great and polite, handled my dog very gently. #1 place for me.

The doctor here is very compassionate and treats my kitty like his own. He is very knowledgeable and always explains things in a way that's easy to understand. Prices very reasonable. The staff is courteous and professional. My kitty loves this guy and I wouldn't take him anywhere else.

They took care of my baby promptly. My regular vet couldn't take any appointments (understandably) because they were really booked. Every vet I called was completely booked and waiting times were crazy. The staff and Veterinary doctor were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this clinic.

I've been taking my furry babies here for YEARS and I've recommended this clinic to so many of my friends (who have also been incredibly happy). I was initially referred here ages ago by my best friend when I was trying to find someone who charged a fair price for canine dentals. I've had Dr. Nadeem Akhtar as the primary vet for all of my dogs ever since. My mom jumped on the bandwagon shortly after. I've watched this facility go from sort-of-well-known to incredibly busy due to word-of-mouth. We've been going so long that the doctor knows who we are! Dr. Nadeem is easily one of the most intelligent veterinarians I've ever come across (if not the most intelligent). He's incredibly thorough with his explanations, always calls you back (and most of the time he calls you back himself), always makes time for my babies when I have an urgent walk-in, and is great at referring out to other facilities when one of my dogs needs something beyond this clinic's capacity. He's caught multiple issues with multiple dogs that other veterinarians in town misdiagnosed—issues that would have resulted in death if he hadn't caught them. He's so kind, and his team is just as nice. Their prices are really, really fair, especially when compared to what most of the places in town charge. I'm so grateful we have a vet like this in Fresno!

Doc and staff are always nice and they always do their best to fit us in on our teacher schedule.

Very clean, very welcoming staff, the veterinarian is very nice and straightforward no beating around the bush just gives you the diagnosis. I wouldn't have it any other way I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a very good veterinarian

Loved it very much was my first time goin there.the front ppl are very nice and explain to you everything by detail what they charging u For. I took my 2 puppy Pomeranians for there 2nd shots and we’re very helpful there good imprecision for my first time and very affordable! Recommend it very much! Plus loved how they give u the papers for vaccination records they are hard material and not thin like other places.

We moved out of the area but continue to come here (10 hours round trip). Through the pandemic, patience has been key. We always scheduled our appointments in advance. If there were ever emergencies, obviously we go to a emergency vet but always followed up with the Doc at Dog and Cat. Our latest visit to the largest, most well-respected, most technologically advanced vet hospital on the West Coast made us really appreciate the care, compassion, and no nonesense direct advice Dr. Akhtar and his staff always gives us and our pugs (Cooper and Charlie). We didn't get a fraction of that service or care at the "world-renowned" hospital.

We tried to find a new vet where we currently reside but the experience was disappointing and we continue to come back to Dog and Cat.

Knowledgeable vets, great father and son team. They were able to help us figure out why our itchy dogs were so itchy. Flexible and accommodating. Excellent place for standard vet procedures: shots, very reasonable teeth cleaning, spay and neuter. Hands down great veterinary clinic. Doctors do not push you for upsell or unnecessary procedures. Great place with integrity. Look no further for a vet!

I’ve used this Vet for years always the best care I could ask for. In fact I have an appointment to have my new kitty spayed next week. 5 stars for me

On March 30,2022 I took my precious Mollie in for some much-needed dental work. Initially, I thought that they had resolved her tooth decay issue until her canine tooth became infected again. The infected area was so bad that she was wailing from the pain when I came close to touching the area to look at it. I immediately called the clinic and was met with rudeness and zero compassion. I called the morning of August 4,2022 and was told that I had to wait until August 15th for Mollie to be seen. The receptionist also informed me that I had the option of a walk-in appointment but that I would be responsible for an additional walk-in fee. Because the situation was so dire, I requested to speak to the office manager. The entire day went by and to this day August 7th, I have yet to receive any return phone call. Due to the level of Mollie's suffering, I was forced to take her to Abbey Pet Hospital and make the worst decision to put her down. Not only am I out the money that I paid to resolve my sweet Mollie's dental issues, I lost my dog due to their negligence. Pardon the cliche, however, the only thing that comes to mind is "you get what you pay for" as it applies to this awful clinic! Losing Mollie was painful enough but the lack of compassion that I received was polar opposite from the high level of compassion I received from Abbey Pet Hospital. NO PET OWNER SHOULD EVER HAVE TO ENDURE THIS POOR LEVEL OF VET CARE FOR THEIR PET BABIES. I have no more words for this clinic, other than to say that if you truly love your pet, pay the extra money so that you don't have to endure the excruciating pain, sadness, and anguish that our family is now grappling with because I made the poor decision to trust them with our Mollie

Great service! Went above and beyond with our family pet. The staff was super friendly and well caring. Listen to our needs and requirements. Quick but professional turnaround service even though they were busy.

I have an extremely aggressive dog who will not let anyone get near her. With age she developed a cyst on her tail that needed medical attention. Taking our beloved Bella to the vet was always an extremely stressful situation. At times we were even turned away. This clinic and it’s Dr are amazing! We are ever so thankful for them not giving up on us and getting the job done! Our Bella did not make anything easy but they understood that care is care and it should be provided no matter the situation! Thank you! Highly recommend!

I took my yorkie to this Vet.for many years. The Vet.always took the time to explain and give best recommendation for my pet he is a professional and a humble person. I recently had to put my yorkie down, this was extremely difficult for me. The Vet along with his staff was very caring and helped me through the process.

Really great care at a reasonable price with no up selling. I took my new puppy to get her shots and their chip and the doctor and the staff were very nice and helpful. You can tell they genuinely like dogs. I've taken my other pets there before as well and I've always been treated very well. So far this is the best veterinary clinic I've been to in Fresno. I trust this veterinarian and recommend them highly.

The complete staff is knowledgable in their areas. Plenty of parking and easy access. All are friendly, too. Rates are reasonable.
