Auditorium Dolby Theatre reviews
17 An extraordinary auditorium associated with the Academy Awards, broadcast shows and live entertainment.
The acoustics are perfect, as is the state of the art sound system. The quality was upgraded by the most recent owners, as the name (Dolby) speaks for itself!
The auditorium is in the middle of the Hollywood & Highland Center.
Visitors from the outside Walk of Fame, may walk thru the grand entrance hall, where the Academy Awards red carpet has been rolled out. Along the way there’s art deco columns with backlit paneled listings of past recipients of the Oscars. Several panels remain empty in anticipation of future winners.
Upscale stores line the hall on both sides, though may be covered by curtains during the ‘Awards.
Continue on up the grand staircase to the rotunda, a vertically circular space thru the middle of the complex.
Across to the other side is the Dolby Theater name and entrance door (s) on the different floors of the different levels.
The theater’s been closed due to the pandemic, with the 2021 Oscars having been held at LA’s Union Station.
With gathering restrictions eased, a return to normal activities has yet to be announced…
Nice place, great views of Hollywood Sign. Good selection of restaurants and shops. Lots to do and parking only costs $17 for the day.
Did the walking tour, very informative, and interesting. I love all that California has to offer.
Went to the Dolby Theater to watch America's Got Talent. What a beautiful venue. Seats were super comfortable and the acoustics were great.
Nice and beautiful venue. Another name is also known as Kodak Theatre where the Oscar held. Proud to be here visiting the famous Theatre
Couldnt go inside but the area looks never ending. There is alot of people that come to take pictures and enjoy the vibes of coastal California. It does not really interest me to see thousands of people walk over a street with several hundred stars.
Our visit to the place was very impressive and joyful. Whole group was very happy to see various landmarks incl Hollywood made on hill rock alphabets abt fifty feet height each.
My preferred venue for events in LA. Went to see pod saves America and the paley Silicon Valley event here. Parking costs money but is pretty reasonable for the location, and lasts a long time so if you want to tour the street after, you have the time.
This place is where all of Hollywood royalty comes together for the Acadmey Awards. You can visit inside which is very grand and also put your hands and feet of all the stars outside. This is an absolute must do if you’re in LA!
Fortunately I was there for an event along with over 3,000 other people, which is the best value for your dollar as far as seeing the Dolby Theatre. The seats were nothing special and I've seen nicer drink holder set ups in regular movie theatres, but what is nice is the expansiveness of the theatre in total. The sound and lighting quality was awesome.
Nice venue but don't order a cocktail before the show as drinks etc are not allowed inside and if you dont notice the small signs you'll need to down it or toss it. Also like a few other venues you're not allowed in if the show has started and you'll have to wait until in the clear. There are no monitors or speakers so you can hear/view what's going on inside while waiting.
I enjoyed my visit very much. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The people were very friendly while seating people.
Enjoyed Kathy Griffin's performance tremendously; she was hilarious as ever.
Loved her!
Did the tour, totally worth the twenty bucks paid. Our tour guide Andy was absolutely a top notch 5 star guide. Great to see the behind the scenes of the theatre. 100% recommended
I was here for a 2 day event. Evolving our Loud with Kyle Cease. Impressive theatre. Comfortable seats.
Although this particular events' staff were a bit rude (the ones maintaining order with the seat filler lines), the actual threatre staff were very professional and courteous.
Here is where the Oscar ceremony takes place (and I know because I've covered the event for 30 years!)
