19Upon arrival they did not have the car available, it had to be for the next day or pay another price, poor service.
I rented this vehicle from January 13 - January 16 from ONT. I booked this vehicle thru Expedia, expecting to pay at the counter with $61.17. Once I got to the counter, they ran a credit check AND charged me with $608.23. On top of the unexpected fee and credit check, the vehicle had cigar smell that made me feel dizzy when driving. I would not recommend this company to anyone even if it will be a short trip. Disappointed in the service and how they maintain their vehicles.
I'll give 2 stars out of respect for the workers (jobs can be hard) who stayed and the late help when my boyfriend's flight got a major delay.
BUT! This is a very ridiculous experience! Boyfriend rented a car in hopes of good service and trust for a 3 day trip. He already paid almost everything before he came, just 50 bucks left. But not only they gave him a car that is filled with disgusting smell of smoke, they squeezed money out of him from with held information on a hidden, ridiculous high fee because of this and that they say. Please be cautious and make sure to ask everything before you rent. He has to leave for his flight so we can't dispute. Definitely not nice. Not going to recommend, unless you double sure you're getting your money's and trust worth.
They have a lot of impossible to follow arcane rules and they refused to actually make good on a reservation

Let me just say best experience at a car rental is place. Amanda was the best to me and my brother. She personally took out us out to find the perfect car for our trip. 2022 Lincoln Navigator only 26 miles
Best vacuum out the car if you don’t want a cleaning fee tacked on when you return. Photos of minor dirt on the floor mats are what I received after complaining about a $25 cleaning fee. Guess that pays for all the signs they have around that highlight their standard cleaning process between rentals.
What a disgrace of a car rental company. They will rip you off at any chance they get. Don't trust the price they give you, don't trust any level of customer service. Stay well away.
Really dissatisfied.booked online got a certain rate.get to pick up got a different rate.
Paid for insurance online. I get here they tell me thats a third party.that they don't recommend.n try to sale me another one.wth? !
Not using this company for a rental again. I got a one day rental that ended up breaking down. Called emergency road side assistance and they didn't show up until 3 hours after the initial call. Couldn't fit in the lyft Dollar Rental called. The return process for the car was a pain, there's only one gate to go in to return but they expect you to pull up to the front or wait for someone at the closed gates. Not sure if the other rental companies in the building are any better.
Can I give negative stars? Less than zero communication, no way possible to get the desk number without physically going into the location, what’s the point of having local agents. Their drop off closes earlier than all other companies in the building, note that. Had an emergency, had to drop off a car overnight, there is no way to do that it is not possible. Even left a note with the keys behind their desk to inform them. They did nothing with it, I had to drive two hours back here to return the car myself the next day because it is impossible to get a hold of anyone but corporate and corporate will not connect you to the local office. Also the ladies have a bit of an attitude, they need to remember their jobs, and that they are front facing customer service representatives and that is all. I’d rather deal with the DMV than these clowns. I travel for business and rent nearly weekly, this has been the most absolute disgusting interaction I’ve had in the rental car business in my entire life from start to finish. Because hertz end thrifty are also affiliated, I will no longer be renting from them as it was their customer service agents that lack empathy and the ability to talk to someone without being condescending.
The car rental companies at that location have botched my reservations more than once. Their ridiculous policies do not allow you to easily pick up your reserved vehicle even after you have paid. Then you have to jump through hoops for them to honor your reservation.
Unfortunately lost my ID and went to them to see if any other forms of ID would work. I had a printed copy of my ID, a temp ID from DMV, work badge, credit cards, had a different person with license so I can be additional. I was told nope. Sorry. I asked them to just cancel it and I will call customer service. He said ok and that I should receive email. That when I call just say I had COVID and it should be ok.sooo ok just lie and I can have a refund.sure enough "sorry we can't help you unless you had COVID otherwise we don't issue refunds"
I was charged for a 10day rental that I never picked up. #1 for no ID and #2 the guy never cancelled my rental to state I went into the place trying to pick it up. NEXT TIME I'm sticking to my usual rental place.
The reason why I gave 1 star is that there is no option to give 0 stars.
Not recommend company, staff are not professional, and rude.
I booked what so called manager choice car, which is econamy or larger, but on the counter I offered smaller one, and was forced to upgrade to SUV because no available choices.
Take care when you deal with them.
Originally, I only need the vehicle for one day. I was going to pick it up in Ontario and drop it off the next day at Phoenix sky harbor airport. My plans changed so I wanted to return it the next day at Ontario instead. The first representative I called about this stated they could make the change with no problem. When I called back to confirm the changes the representative told me that I could not change my drop off destination and I was forced to drop it back off at phoenix. I had an emergency and that would not be returning back to Phoenix for another few days. So I was forced to keep this rental longer than I needed it. Upon return to Phoenix the vehicle got a flat tire and I could no longer drive it. I kept trying to contact customer service but the hold time was always extremely long and I could never get through to a live representative. I kept getting intimidating phone calls about my vehicle being past due in about action being taken against me unless I returned it immediately. Finally someone came to pick the vehicle up next thing I knew I was being charged almost $1,000 for the rental when originally I really only needed it for one day. I will never rent from these guys again. I will never recommend anyone to rent to them. And I will make sure to tell all my family and friends on all my social media how they they ripped me off.
They still have my deposit of almost $500. We pre paid for the rental. When we showed up to pick up the car, they wanted to run a credit check on us. We had another family member rent one because they had a cc. Of course, this caused the price to go up considerably. Avoid them at all costs.
I cant even get them to answer the phone. They were highly recommended to me But ill never be able to confirm because they just wont and dont answer the phone. So after many many multiple attempts Dollar Car Rental only gets a single star.
