Don Giovanni reviews
16We haven’t been here for a couple of years and missed eating here. So our friends and I decided to come down with our families. Their food use to be full of so much flavor and it was good quality. It was 4.2/5 stars you could say. Today it was an absolute disappointment. The New York steak that was suppose to be medium rare, varied from rare to medium rare to medium in different parts of the steak. But mostly so rare that I had to leave my dish unfinished and still had to pay the full amount for it. Unfortunately, it also had no flavor and the same goes for the rack of lamb — it was cooked medium well rather than medium. Though the dishes were dressed nicely but the flavors were severely lacking. My husband and his friends had to get his beers himself at the bar as they ordered their beers 30 minutes earlier, which never arrived. One of our friend’s pastas was not done right as well and they had to redo it. The owner did waive 2 beers off our bill; I suppose he considered that was an ample amount for getting our orders incorrect, undercooked for some and overcooked for others. Our server was very nice and I think they may have been overwhelmed but in the past their food has been great whether they were busy or not. So I am not so sure what happened today, but it’s very unlikely we’ll be going back there again.
You have to give five star for service. Host was so gracious. Accommodate our every request.
Meatball appetizer, mushroom ravioli were the best I ever had. Chicken parmesan was decent. A bit too saucy. I like my chicken to be on thinner side. Veggie pizza was a let down. Perhaps, place not known for it's pizza.
Bland food and awful service make for an incredibly disappointing experience. Walk down the street to Doppio Zero if you want a good Italian restaurant.
Best Italian in Mountain View. The space has Italian vibes, servers are attentive and super sweet, and the food hits the spot every time. Definitely worth a visit if you’re on Castro and hungry!
I like it. Its Italian. Thats it. Nice place, nice stuff and good food. Expensive? This is Europe man! Its better than mexian or anerican fir sure)
Loved this restaurant and will come back when in the area. Manager was awesome and made sure his customers were satisfied. I order the daily special of lobster ravioli and it was a great choice.
Pasta was okay, not good. Shrimp was undercooked. In general the pasta consistency was not great. And wine was okay.
The lunch was amazing! It was our first time eating here. We took cheese ravioli and risotto Frutti di Mare and everything was tasty and unique. The staff was very polite
Highly recommend this restaurant!
Wonderful Italian cuisine, great friendly attentive service, cordial owner named John. Definitely coming back.
Terrible food. Borderline service. Salad course was sad and the chicken Marsala was dry, overcooked and under seasoned.
Literally zero redeeming qualities.
Friendly and welcoming service. Loved the bruschetta, gnocchi, ravioli with marinara sauce. The pesto sauce was really good. My kid loved the cheese pizza a lot
We booked the private room for a rehearsal dinner, and it was a great experience! There were several people that had dietary restrictions and they were easily accommodated! Don Giovanni is now my go to for any large event!
They massively overbooked and then eventually put us in a cold and less pleasant side room. Service was really slow and inattentive. For the table next to us they actually forgot to even put in their order and we got to listen to the fallout from that. Food is nothing special and not worth the price. I wish we didn't wait in line and just left.
Nice cozy atmosphere. Movie posters on the wall and a embracing Italian theme. Clean restroom that smells nice. Friendly staff. Hot and tasty food.
Yucky and overpriced. I couldn't finish my chicken parm and flushed the minestrone down the toilet. They didn't provide utensils, so I had to eat my pasta at my hotel with my hands and didn't provide butter so I ate my bread plain.
