Enjoyed the ambience! The food was a mixed bag. The Tiramisu was delicious, and the cocktail (Dead Man's Boots) was nice. The entrees were okay, perhaps lacking a bit in flavour. We ordered the calamari, bottarga (spaghetti pasta with salmon), chorizo pizza and pizza napule (fried pizza). The food quality was great, and the people were nice.

Lively atmosphere with very friendly and fun staff. First time here based on friend recommendation. I ordered Formaggio pizza and it was alright. A bit cold and too oily for my taste. I guess I expected more based on raving reviews.

The pizzas here are light, authentic and extremely flavorful!

The potato croquettes are pretty nice, and so are the pastas.

For vegetarians, the pulcinella and the rapini pizzas are a must try!

The espresso coffee is also wonderful!

Maybe Neapolitan style pizza is not the best choice of take-out. But we ordered from them last summer and it was great! It was all stone cold, there was a staple in one of the pizzas (maybe that was my fault.maybe not), and the MELANZANE ALLA PARMIGIANA was tiny! Seriously, smaller than a slice of bread. It was good, but.that was not even enough to call it a single serving.

If you’re looking for authentic Italian pizza - you should try Doppio Zero.

The pizza crust comes out slightly crispy on the outside, but soft and doughy on the inside like a classic Neapolitan pizza does. We ordered the Salsicca Pizza, which is highlighted by its spicy Italian sausage bits, and the namesake Doppio Zero pizza, which has excellent Proscuitto and Burrata cheese.

Burrata cheese is just fantastic. Super creamy with a nice mouthfeel. Unctuous. Delightful. Pleasurable, dare I say.

We also had the Squid ink pasta (Marechiaro), which was a nice surprise! The squid ink doesn’t really add much flavor, but the scallops, clams, and spicy tomato sauce were an amazing combination.

I reserved a table for 6 people. The host gave us two small tables so we all fit. Then in the middle of our meal, she came and took one table away. I asked her that we have it reserved and leave the table. She said its very crowded and we can serve on that table for another customer as well. The pizza and cocktails are good.

We really enjoyed our pizza and pasta. I shared a fungi pizza and it was really delicious. I also had a ragu pasta that was great. Nice portions and great service.

Very sad excuse for a Margherita pizza, 2 leaves of basil. My girlfriend and I also ordered 2 other pizzas and all 3 were cold, we live approximately 8 minutes from the restaurant. My girlfriend picked the food up and the staff were rude and didn't seem like they wanted to see if she wanted a table or a order to go.
Respectively not going back here.

Doppio Zero offers fine, classic Italian food, with a nice ambience on Castro st. Very lively atmosphere especially coming on a weekend evening. Service was top notch too. There was plenty of seating inside but the weather was nice outside (with tents for shaded seating). We got a ravioli pasta and a couple pies (pulcinella and another one that I can't remember) to share for the 4 of us. The pies are on the smaller side for the price, but worth coming for a nice Italian dining experience.

Really sad experience. Staff was friendly. Nice to have outdoor seating space. But.

The Burrata dish was sad. Two slices of tomato and some wilted basil and arugula with a lump of burrata, no balsamic vinegar, no glaze, no flavor, nothing even to make it look nice.

We had the Salsiccia pizza. It came out to us lukewarm and soggy. The flavor was decent and probably would have been nice if it had still been hot and had not gotten soggy. To be fair I saw a lot of other pizzas that looked pretty good, but ours was a very sad rendition of the Italian mainstay.

We had the Deliza pasta. It was also lukewarm, had scant veggies, very little sauce and was not appetizing to look at. Taste wasn't bad.

The staff didn't come out to check on us after dropping off the entrees, we asked for parmesan and red peppers and received two take-out packets like we would receive from Pizza Hut. What? !

The best part of our evening was each other's company and the beer! Not coming back here again. Very disappointing Friday evening pizza.

If you go, hopefully you will have a better experience, I doubt this is typical, but it was our experience.

Delicious food as always. Love their Brussels sprouts and croquette (cheesy potato deliciousness), their pizzas are wonderfully Italian, and their fresh pasta is perfectly al dente!

I really like the pistachio pizza here, that's kind of a pretty unique thing that's offered here. The pistachio cream is really well prepared and is a great topping esp.the way it nicely goes along with the cheese. The Tiramisu here is great as well, though I find it's not that consistent based on my experience of having it many-a-times at this place, but is definitely on the better side everytime

Take out: easy to do through their own website if you don't have Dashdoor. You can park on the backside and use their take out door - easy peasy
Pizzas: second time we ordered and their were perfect piece of Italian dough. We loved the Margherita and Formaggi.

Every dish was delicious: the entree, the pasta, the pizza. And not expensive! I just finished and I’m already craving it again.

Good service. We didn't have pizza but my friend ordered a pasta dish off the menu. It was a spicy penne pasta. Was al dente and good.

An awesome authentic Italian Pizza place on the famous Castro street. We had the Margarita pizza and Fungo. We will return to Doppio hungry for more:)

Still an excellent setting, for a simple artisan pie or more prepared fare. Nice cocktails or wine selection to start or pair.

Nice dine in and dine out areas.the pizza is just incredible here.very nice dough, chewy, and leoparding on the pizza to give it a nice char flavor.you can’t really go wrong with any of these pizzas.the pastas are also fantastic.you can taste very good quality ingredients and meats.the pasta was perfectly salted and was a perfect al denté. The tomato sauce had a very nice fresh tomato taste.the pasta portions are slightly on the smaller side, but still definitely worth it!

We visited 2 Sundays in a row.

The rating is for the service not the food. Second time we visited we had 3 dirty utensils during 1 meal!
A knife with some old cheese stuck to it, a dessert spoon with paper stuck to it overall not a great experience.

The place is crowded for Sunday lunch the outdoor seating is quite close to each other less than a stroller space between tables. Food was consistent week to week their specials especially tasted good.

Very tasty pizzas! Try the Doppio Zero pizza with red sauce, definitely the best here! Don’t experiment too much tho, the truffles here are dry like wood.
