The front desk staff was nice. And the valet staff were at times nice, but for the times that they weren’t. They were just clearly overworked and understaffed. I’m not surprised that we woke up to protests out front every morning that we were there. The room itself left much to be desired. It certainly didn’t look like a 4-star, what with the half functioning light switches, for example. Would I stay here again? Not for the price. I’d rather just go to a Marriott or one of their affiliate properties.

Wouldn’t ever stay at this hotel again, this experience was horrible. I booked a double queen room for my family of 4, and upon checking in was informed they “upgraded” us to a single king room.for four of us. We spent about 20 minutes begging for a room switch to something else so that 2 of us wouldn’t have to sleep on the floor. The people at the front desk were extremely rude & unhelpful. They said our only other option was to cancel our stay because they “couldn’t change anything” (but told us they had many king rooms available, that we could add for an additional $200). We decided we had no option but to keep the room but we needed two roll away beds. Front desk told us they had none available. Then we said we needed multiple comforters and blankets if we would be sleeping on the ground, which they said was fine & they would send housekeeping. Housekeeping came (who was absolutely wonderful), but was told that she was strictly told not to bring any comforters only blankets. We told her the situation and she told us they actually did have a roll away bed. She went down and brought us the one she did have, but we still had to have someone sleep on the floor. Overall, the front desk was rude & not willing to help solve a problem they created, and blatantly lied to us multiple times. This is a horrible representation of Hilton.

We spent a total of 3 nights here in July 2023. The rooms are definitely getting old! Parking is $47 plus tax per day! Breakfast is $37 per person plus tax. The location wasn't ideal for us, the ride to Santa Monica and Beverly Hills took about an hour on the subway. (The hotel cannot do anything about the location) The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were greeted with a bottle of water and a warm cookie. We were pretty high up and we could still open a window! Something creepy was a black wool hat with eyes and mouth opening which we found in our room. Overall it was ok, but I wouldn't book again.

Huge shout out to Kalisi at the front desk - she was super sweet and helpful, and made our engagement experience a special one! Thank you for everything during our week stay!

One elevator works - had to wait over 15 minutes to go up and we’ve been waiting for over 30 minutes to go down since all the elevators are full, all stairs are emergency exit only so we can’t even walk down

It's in the area of Little Tokyo, so you don't have to worry about eating Japanese food. Also, there was a 7-Eleven within a 1-minute walk.
The hotel is non-smoking and if you smoke, there is an ashtray on the left side of the front entrance (Seven-Eleven side).
It took 235$ with a credit card as a guarantee deposit at check-in (if there is nothing, it will be refunded after check-out)
The room was normal, but the windows were dirty and I couldn't enjoy the view outside.
There were no toothbrushes, toothpaste, slippers, nightwear, etc.in the room, so if you don't bring them, it will be a big problem.
*The toilet was not equipped with an ochelet.

Staff was hands-on, very helpful and accommodating. Very clean rooms and every bit of service was pleasant professional and prompt. And for the rate I got.hands down the place to stay in DTLA.

We checked in online with our digital key, and upon entering the room, immediately noticed a man already occupying the room. We ran downstairs — the front desk was very apologetic and we were treated to better accommodations. I am not sure how two people could have booked the same room — that feels like an incredibly not secure situation. That said, immediately the next day, my mother used her key to enter her assigned room and ALSO walked into an already occupied room. They were then issued an additional 3 rooms due to the dirty nature of the other rooms assigned to them.

While the front desk handled our situations correctly, my major issue with this hotel is: HOW could more than 1 person have the SAME room booked? It is a HUGE security flaw. We were concerned the rest of our stay whether someone would come into our room because of the same issue.

Such an unacceptable situation — double and triple check upon checking in that your room is YOURS. And even then, be aware that someone may barge in on your room as well.

I booked my room online with the Hilton app I got a 2 queen 2 room suite I got there and they told me we could not stay in the room we booked because there was a leak… I asked if I can pay more and get something better and no they only wanted me to downgrade for almost the same amount of money

Rooms and view of the city look nice. Due to strikes from the cleaning staff, we haven't received any service aside from the bed being made. Been looking forward to this expo for months. But scrounging around for extra towels and toiletries. Room service phone doesn't work so I'll have to navigate the multiple floor to the front desk to stock up on things that should come the premium price tag. Management had warning of these strikes and had no work around to accommodate. I've had a good time with Doubletree by Hilton outside of LA so this makes me worried about this happening again if I hit up the LA expo next year

Check in process was fast and simple. Rooms are spacious and good quality for the price.

Worker strikes were known in advance but the best management could do was leave a sheet of paper to address the issue. Talked to the front desk for more towels and toiletries but never received anything

The issues and service can be improved with better management. For now it is better to go somewhere where the workers and guests are treated better

I had the worst stay at this hotel. Day one I was locked in the elevator for half an hour as front desk didn’t communicate how their elevator will only work with the key card. Day two-three I had freezing cold water for my shower with the water shut off that day two. I had no warm air in my room until the last night of my stay. I was not able to contact front desk with the phone the entire stay as the room phone did not work. The room and bathroom was beyond small for the stay. Not at all a comfortable vacation. Worst experience I don’t recommend any hiltons moving forward. Tried addressing this with management only to be ignored for two weeks and still have not received my security deposit back. We barely used the room as it was inhospitable. My only compensation was a breakfast on the day of check out. I highly don’t recommend staying here at all.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. If I had a compliant it would be the restaurant is over priced and need better selections. Other than that, I would definitely return.
My friends parked their bikes in front of the hotel and the valet workers were very friendly and kind enough to not bother us as we took pictures before my graduation.

I am staying for three days in this hotel until 07/11/2023 I can say that the welcome was really disappointing, a 4-star hotel which for me should have 1 star.
I'm not a person to do at this level, but here we have reached the breaking point.
We come from Italy and we arrive in the room with an empty mini bar! Not even a bottle of water even having to pay for it!
But the worst comes at the time of check-in where to be able to park in the hotel you have to pay 47 dollars a day, without any discounts for customers staying here and WITHOUT ANY RESERVED PLACE, and a very large car park and you have to waste time planning looking for a place, but the nice thing is that last night we went out and on returning we didn't find parking but they didn't reserve it, so we had to pay the car valet another 7 dollars in addition to the daily 47 dollars, leaving the keys to the valets to whom I had to leave my car keys.
Dated and old room, dispensers in the pending bathrooms, I attach photos.
We will stay here another two days we can't wait to leave I swear.
This hotel deserves 1 star not 4 we are disappointed me and my honeymoon.

Worst hotel I've ever stayed in. I had a lady following around the hotel and to my room and security said that she wasn't even a guest and that they had been looking for her all day. When I got into my room both of my suitcases were wide open as if somebody had gone through my things. I reported it to the night manager, and they never even followed up with me about it, yet they said they would launch an investigation and never did.

Update- still no response from management. I have called several time and they keep sending me to voicemail. There has not been any follow up on the investigation as well

If I could give 0 stars I would but I am shocked that the Double Tree by Hilton Los Angeles Downtown has a four star rating when in fact it doesn't have one. Upon arrival in the lobby no reception can speak Italian and also we did not have a guest pass for parking but I had to pay $47 a day also if you go out in the evening and come back late and there is no parking space they will show you the mandatory Car Val LET service with which you have to pay not $47 but a good $54 because they don't reserve the place for hotel customers and I think it's absurd that I stay in the hotel and don't even have a guaranteed parking service, furthermore they force me to leave the keys and then pay another seven dollars for Car Vallet service. Our room certainly has a mediocre style and as soon as I arrived in the room there is not even a bottle of water. It is shameful if this service is offered by a four star hotel. The ventilation system fails it is very cold and it is difficult to manage the thermostat setting also in the bathroom there was hardly a bar of soap and there is no shower cap also the shower head is full of limestone and I wonder how a four star hotel can provide this service. In the room there are no indications for Wi-Fi and moreover poor. The area where the double Tree Downtown is located is very bad.

I stayed here last weekend and it was a nightmare to sleep. Not blaming the protesters at all, just the way the management handled the whole thing.

The primary issue that ruined my stay was the relentless strike happening nearby, which kept me awake throughout the night. Despite promptly reporting this inconvenience to the front desk, their response was utterly disappointing. All they had to offer was a simple apology without any meaningful attempt to address the problem or provide a solution.

I travelled here so I didn’t know about it. When I asked them about it, they actually shrugged and said nothing we can do. We also had to call down everytime we needed toilet paper or towels because there was no daily housekeeping.

That is unacceptable to me. They knew the strike was coming weeks prior, why wouldn't they provide extra towels, toilet paper? Isn’t that easier than having guests call down and wait for necessities to come up?

Also why wouldn’t they provide earplugs? Like I said, they shrugged me off. The smart thing to do was have them ready to give out or stocked in the rooms waiting for us as any competent hotel management would think of.

It’s insane how lazy their response was. It’s like they want us to blame the strikers because of them.

As a paying guest, i paid full price for the services listed on the page that hotel management barely tried to address. I understand that I couldn’t get daily house keeping, but it was the lack of effort that was appalling. Like I said, they should think ahead or at least pretend to care about guests. I paid a good amount of money for this stay so I am demanding compensation.

It is my hope that by sharing my experience, the management will realize the importance of addressing guest concerns more proactively and strive to improve their overall quality of service.

Dated, unclean rooms. There was a roach crawling from the TV. I would not recommend staying at this location.

Downtown LA is dead and sketchy but it is not Doubletree's fault. However, the hotel itself is mediocre. First room we were given was dirty with hair found in multiple spots of the bed. Ceiling wall was coming apart. There were obvious dust and crumbs on carpeted floor. Second room was better. Overall needs renovation badly.

Windows in the room were unacceptably filthy and did a poor job blocking out the noise from outside (if you know LA, there is a lot of siren).

It felt unsafe to walk around the hotel because downtown is so empty with a fair number of homeless. Little Tokyo is close by though so that is a redeeming quality.

Breakfast buffet was great. Service (front desk/restaurant) was good.

Overall cannot recommend.
