Doug is an absolutely outstanding mentor and acting coach. His instruction is always straight forward and his classes great at meeting you where you need work. He is all about the actors, never about himself.

I came to Doug's class after receiving multiple recommendations. I audited his class and have since studied with him for over a year.

From the get-go, he is very personalized in his approach with each student. When starting his class, he has a conversation as to your goals and expectations.

You can choose what you like to work on, whether it is cold-reading, auditions, a specific genre, and he’ll give you the material and direction to do so. Monthly you perform in front of an industry guest which is great for replicating the audition process and networking. Another thing that has been incredibly helpful is being able to bring in sides for a self-tape/audition and work on that. Given the world is moving more and more towards self-tapes, it has been helpful to get some feedback before submitting.

It is apparent that he cares about his students. He has high expectations and gives you the tools to meet those. He is honest, if your performance isn't up to par, he works with you to break it down and make it better. If it’s good, he will let you know that as well. Also doesn’t hurt that he is witty and has a good sense of humor. I have taken many acting courses, but his approach, knowledge, and the environment he creates has kept me coming back.

I've studied with Acting Coach, Doug Warhit, for over a year now. There are a lot of reasons why he's often considered one of the very top on-camera/scene study teachers in all of Los Angeles. Here are some of the reasons I concur with that general consensus throughout the industry.

#1 From my audit and onward, Doug runs his classes like a tight ship - professionally, on time, respectful of everyone's personal lives, organized, etc.
#2 In other words, be prepared to get up and work. I really appreciate that Doug doesn't let any of us sit and waste time while we're there. (e.g. If you're not currently performing your scene you're likely the reader for another classmate, or you're helping someone else get ready before they come in and run their scene, etc.)
#3 By setting this type of collaboration as the tone, it's pretty easy to get to know your peers and get more comfortable performing in front of them (and working with them on projects outside of class, too).
#4 Doug strongly encourages everyone to bring a thumb drive each week to class, so that he can record you, and so it can be reviewed later by the students
#5 Doug is a "no bull", straight shooter with his critiques and is more focused on his students performances getting better than waxing poetic about the good old days when he was acting
#6 Doug is serious, yes, but also seriously funny. We spend as much time laughing or giggling during some classes as we do asking questions at the end of class. It's all "about the work", but, when you're having a good time, there's plenty to have fun and make light of.
#7 Doug's rates are really reasonable for the amount of time you get to work each class night and for how accessible Doug makes himself during the week to his students outside of the designated weekly classes.

I could could go on, but, let me just wrap-up by saying, Doug Warhit's classes are making me a better actor. He sees my progress and gives me the feedback I need to keep refining this craft I deeply love. He's a no nonsense teacher and will give you the tools you need to ace your auditions and kill it on set, too! Highly recommended!

It is pretty simple-I find myself doing my best acting work when I am consistently attending Doug's class. I studied with Doug for a few years when I first moved to Los Angeles. During this time I felt more confident in scenes and auditions and knew I was doing industry-worthy work.

I have recently come crawling back for more, after taking time off for comedy school, and couldn't be happier. Doug is intelligent and quirky, he understands actors, and most importantly his students as people.

Doug's class is a safe space to explore. He's not afraid to tell you when it looks like you are acting or you're not quite in it. He's also not afraid to tell you when you are right on. The honest feedback he provides is so key to growth.

In this class you'll explore the deeper thoughts of the character, play with improvising scenes, work your scene on camera and learn to take quick redirects, just like on set. And an industry guest watches your work at the end of each month! Yay for built in networking.

Been working with Doug for a couple months now, and absolutely love him. He's attentive, caring, and funny, but also holds you up to a high standard and encourages you to grow. I've become a much better actor, and have been offered many opportunities since working with Doug. 100% recommend Doug. He's an amazing acting couch!

A cool dude and a nice guy. The eyes of a hawk in obseving actors. He’ll move you forward and before you know it you’ll be the better for it.
