Down to Earth Thai Massage, La Jolla CA

I came out for parents weekend to spend time with my daughter and we both wanted massages. After searching for one we both agreed we wanted to give Down to Earth a try and we both are glad we did! Magdalena and Apple we amazing! We walked out feeling great and I’m on day 2 of no heating pad Magdalena! (I have auto immune issues that cause wide spread pain and have used a heating pad so much it caused toasted skin burns) I look forward for my next trip out to come back and get worked on again and again!

Maily is great. She seemed educated and experienced in Thai massage, was intuitive with the body, and applied good pressure. One of the best Thai massages I’ve had. Place is very professional, cute, and clean. Will definitely be back

I came in for a massage a few weeks ago and asked for a Deep Tissue massage, letting the masseuse know I have pretty bad back pain, to which she said of course she could help with that. When I was ready for my massage, the masseuse came in and reiterated that I asked for a Deep Tissue massage and I said “yes, please focus on the knots in my back, neck, and shoulders as I am in a lot of pain”. After 30 minutes of just being rubbed down with oil, I asked the masseuse if she would be able to work on the knots in my back as I had asked for in the beginning and she said yes.

By the end of my massage, she hadn’t worked on any of my knots (hadn't so much as used her thumbs or applied pressure) and just rubbed me down with oil for 60 minutes, which even that was highly unenjoyable. The movements were very rushed, she kept aggressively scratching my scalp, and she just did the same moves over and over to the point where I memorized the pattern she was following. At the end of my massage when she asked how it was, I told her I didn’t enjoy it and that she didn’t do what I asked her to, and my back was still in a lot of pain. She then had me sit facing away from her, shoved her foot in my back, and pulled my arms, till I was in pain.

When I went to pay she rang me up for a CBD massage, which was more expensive, and also not what I asked for. It could've been a misunderstanding on her part, but given she acknowledged that I said Deep Tissue twice and I asked her to work on my knots at least twice, that seems odd.

The whole experience was unenjoyable, I left extremely upset, and ending up having even more back pain than when I arrived. It was so bad that I had to book another massage the next day to take care of the pain. I have since emailed them multiple times and no one will respond to me (yet they keep sending me promo emails.). Don't waste your money here, go to Mellow Massage where they actually took care of me and gave me a quality treatment.

This place is amazing! I have never had a deep tissue massage this good. I'm a bodybuilder and always tight. They literally use their whole body and weight to get into the muscles. I felt amazing after the 90 minute massage. Go with this company. You will be pleased.

Oh my God. My first Thai massage. What an incredible experience. My muscles are so tight and Apple was a miracle worker. She walked on me, stretched me, and really focused on the problem areas. I feel amazing. I've had many massages and this was a different experience in the best way.
