Dr. Chip was wonderful. I had a battery replaced in my Mac Pro laptop and it didn't work, so he helped me with putting in a new battery as soon as he could! He also was lovely to me when I was panicking about not having my computer and because of the inconvenience (which wasn't his fault) he put on a new cover for my laptop and it looks amazing! Thank you Dr. Chip!

Best laptop repair hands down. Reassured me that he WILL fix my laptop and he did within 24 hours. Not gonna lie I was a little bit worried by how the place looked on the outside because when I pulled up, I was like, “This is it? ” But when I came inside Dr. Chip greeted me with welcoming hospitality. I told him my problem with my laptop and he told me it was an easy fix. Gave me an estimate of how much it was gonna be after they fixed it and I was definitely satisfied because it was cheaper than if I took my laptop to an Apple store. He is very knowledgeable and a great conversationalist. We went off on a whole tangent about restaurants and food, I even forgot why I was there in the first place. Definitely telling my friends and family about this place. This is my number one for all of my laptop problems.

I have had two occasion to interact with Dr. Chip Computer Sales and Repairs in regards to repairing my Mac. In both cases, once with Dr. Chip and once with his apprentice, and in both cases, I have not only been satisfied with the job done as well as the price for the work, but I have found the interaction most enjoyable and satisfying. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and is able to explain his work not only to your satisfaction but in so doing impart considerable knowledge to his clients and end users so they will go away with a better understanding beneath the hood of what we might otherwise consider a rather mysterious black box, which is great when everything is going well, but to which we feel so helpless when it malfunctions to which pressing the keys seems so useless. We normally become so flustered that we are willing throw our trust anyone as long as they can get it to held. That is not the feeling one gets with Dr. Chip or his apprentice. They seem to be able to speak in ordinary language rather than the confusing tech talk that seems intended to get you lost in their words that you are compel to simply thrown up your hands and just hope they are trustworthy. In contrast, I have on both occasions enjoy talking with another human being rather than a mechanist and seem to come away with a bit of understanding to help heal my frustration.
About the only thing you will have trouble with is finding the place. It is not so much the shop is far away as it is simply a bit hard to find. I will try to clear that up now. Dr. Chips is located on Santa-Fe. Street between I-5, and the South Pacific RR tracks. It is not Morena Blvd, which is on the east side of the RR tracks. 1) Starting on Garnet Ave, turn north onto Mission Bay Dr. (turn left if coming from the beach) or (turn right if coming down the hill on Balboa Ave. 2) After turning onto Mission Bay Dr, take an immediate bear right onto Damon Ave. (you need to make that turn, otherwise you will head straight onto I-5.3) On Damon you will pass the (In-N-Out Burger) on your left, continue under the I-5 under-pass to the dead end. 5) At the dead end, turn left onto Santa-Fe Street and continue for about 1/4 of a mile and you will find Dr. Chip Computer Sales & Repair on your left.

Once you find it, you will be duly rewarded for your journey.

They took my critical patient (MacBook Pro early 2011) and returned within 24 hours right back to where I had left off. Addressed all my concerns and gave me sound financial advice on how to spend my money. Peter was incredible!

Peter is very knowledgeable in his work, has outstanding communication skills, is great at customer service, is very personable and has an excellent ability to communicate. This shop has definitely proven they are better than the large companies that provide laptops and computer services.

Great experience. We needed speakers on a MacBook replaced with a fast turnaround time as the laptop is used for work. Peter had the parts in stock and was able to replace the speakers and get everything back to perfect working order in less time than it took us to have lunch nearby! Highly recommended

Mohamad replaced the HDD drive on my Dell laptop with a new SSD drive and got it up-and-running with a new Windows 10 installation. It was done same-day at a fair cost. He didn’t try to sell me on additional hardware aside from what I needed. I was very pleased with my experience and the outcome of the installation. Thank you! I have taken my old 2013 iMac to his shop twice, both for having difficulty turning on or randomly turning off. The first time, he fixed it saying it was an easy fix, and offered a very cheap price for a RAM upgrade, which I took. The second time, he fixed it and also replaced my dying hard drive with a faster and reliable SSD. Both times, repairs were timely and he honored his over-the-phone quotes. Very friendly, timely, and professional. My computer works better than ever. Will use again for all my computer needs.
