He was not nice at all. On the initial phone call, he had so much attitude and was so rude, I cannot comprehend how he would be a good therapist or be able to compassionate.

I was hesitant at first reaching out for help. As a male I always felt that I needed to somehow magically handle any of my issues on my own. Recently my work life balance had become too much to handle. I was able to discuss with Dr. Espinoza some ways to try and handle the added stresses as well as options I can seek through work. Additionally Dr. Espinoza provided me with some worksheets to help me. Overall he helped make me aware that my mental health is just as important as my overall health. Thank you Dr. Espinoza

I tried to work with Dr. Espinosa one on one but my insurance wouldn't reimburse me. Ive tried his worksheets though and they're pretty helpful en lieu of therapy with him. They're pretty understandable and relatable and helpful

The Growing Up Gay worksheet was my favorite.

Dr. E is very professional but also casual. Meaning he is comfortable to talk to but can put his point across on specific topics in a clear and professional way. I am so comfortable talking with him, that I can open up and speak on anything at all with him. He is really thoughtful about allowing you to go at your own pace, and his sense of humor helps with making things feel more lighthearted. His expertise in behaviors and patterns help with understanding that it's better to seek help than continue to suffer with the continuous cycles. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone.

For the past 6+ months, dating back to June 2020, I've been attempting to resolve a payment dispute with Dr. Espinoza and my insurance company. Dr. Espinoza has refused to take full responsibility for what is owed back to me after my insurance reimbursed his office - essentially paying him twice - instead of directly back to me for 9 sessions. His indignant attitude and lack of understanding when I raised the issue over e-mail - refusing to get on the phone with me OR insurance to hear me out - felt unprofessional and was honestly shocking. As someone recently unemployed from a pandemic-related layoff, I was merely seeking to make good on what was owed back to me based on a verbal agreement I'd made with an associate clinician at his practice that paying up front & being reimbursed via superbill would be fine and without issue while I was on COBRA, post-layoff. Once she left the practice, I was left to liaise with Dr. Espinoza, and the experience has been like pulling teeth: navigating dozens of calls with my insurance company, filing a grievance, and ultimately being told his word matters more over mine. I was eventually partially reimbursed for my sessions, but Dr. E told my insurance a side of the story he was not present for and didn't bother to ask me about, shorting me $144.65 in the process. While this is not a massive sum of money at this point, it's been this pitiful experience and personal principle that's forced me to write this review. Rather than simply resolve my pleas for assistance over e-mail - offering my time to speak and explain the situation - he's made it clear it's not a problem to overcharge patients so long as he's getting paid and there is plausible deniability on his side of the equation. It pains me to write this, too, as the service I received from his two associate clinicians was great - but be forewarned, any billing issue with Dr. E's office will go directly through him with the compassion you'd expect from a debt collector. I'm still in disbelief it had to get to this point.
