Dr Hansen is very nice. I have confidence in him to do my total hip surgery.

Dr. Hansen and his entire staff were accessible and helpful during the course of my hip replacement surgery and physical therapy afterwards. Recommend them highly.

I am relatively young and I had severe arthritis (built up from bone spurs) in both hip joints which was severely limiting my movement. Erik replaced both of my hips, and in doing so he completely changed my life. Not only was Erik a fantastic surgeon, the entire team at UCSF was phenomenal. Everyone I interacted with over the course of the process of having my hips replaced - from pre-op, to surgery, to post-op - was caring, thoughtful, attentive, and smart. Worth noting that Erik has a wonderful bedside manner, which is rare to find in a surgeon that works at such a high level. At times I feel like a burden when I need care, but the team at UCSF was always quick to dismiss that notion and make sure I knew that that was that they were there for.

I only wish I could do more than simply writing a review for Erik and his team. I suppose the other thing I can do is to encourage those who need a hip replacement to consider using Erik. In my humble opinion, he and his team are the hands down the best at what they do.

I appreciate Dr. Hansen's patience. He takes his time to answer all questions, speaks at an understandable pace, and explains medical answers in a way that is easy to understand.
