My experience with Dr. Kirstina Marie Olson at the UCSF Orthopaedic Institute Foot and Ankle was excellent. She knew the right follow up questions to ask and formulated a realistic ‘game plan’ to help heal my recovering injured foot. She is professional, yet candid and enthusiastic.

Too bad admin moved her from the prestigious 2nd floor to the smaller, inferior 3rd floor to make room for yet another male doctor, as she is quite gifted and has great patient relations with natural talents.

Dr. Olson was courteous and professional. Her explanation of my diagnosis was clear and concise. She took the necessary time to ensure that all my questions were answered.

Dr. Olson sat down with me and discussed the plan of care with me while including me in decision making. She was empathetic and kind throughout the entire appointment, and ensured I understood the plan and to reach out if things change or do not improve. You can tell she strives for patient-centered care and views the patient as a whole versus just focusing on the one presenting problem. Her staff were also very kind, attentive, and genuine. Overall, excellent and efficient care.

What other medical establishment would give you 2 appointments with them, all the way up to a surgery consult, before only then realizing they actually don’t take your insurance. Or try and charge you $770 for an appointment you already paid in-network rates for? Jesus Christ, do not EVER step foot in UCSF if you want any semblance of competent care

I couldn’t be more pleased with the treatment I have received from Dr. Olson and her team. My ankle replacement surgery went perfectly and my recovery is ahead of schedule. Kudos to Dr. Olson and everyone at UCSF who contributed to this successful outcome.

First, I'll say that Dr. Olson seems very experienced and competent. I'd love to be able to see her and get her advice, but for the second appointment in a row, I didn't get to see the doctor. Previous appointment was an office appointment. I waited 1.5 hours after the appointment time without seeing the doctor, then finally had to leave for another commitment. The latest appointment was a video visit, as I am traveling and in a different time zone. I signed in 10 minutes early as requested, and waited until 25 minutes after the appointment time without the doctor joining the visit. Finally gave up. Very, very frustrating to feel that my time has no value to my medical provider.

Dr. Olson is great; professional, patient and explains my questions readily. I strongly recommend her in every way. Thank you.

Dr. Olson was great, she listened carefully to me and answered all my questions and made sure I felt welcome to contact her later if I had more questions.

Dr. Olson did an excellent job with my ankle surgery. She and her team have been great to work with every step of the way. When I have met with Dr. Olson for follow up visits in her office, she has been very personable and present, explained things to me and answered all my questions thoroughly. She never made me feel like she felt rushed. I feel like my case could not be in better hands!

Dr Olsen was gentle, thorough in her explanation of my condition, how to care for myself in order to achieve the best outcome and took time to answer my questions.
