Dr. Ravi Goklaney, Bakersfield CA

Horrible! I was given a virtual appointment time due to Covid and my money for my copay was taken, but I was never contacted. You can't even reach anyone at the main number. Don't waste your time.

Before seeing Dr. Goklaney I was hospitalized four times for my concurring disorders. I been seeing him for 3.5 years I haven’t been hospitalized since. He’s made me feel deserving of a better life and has been very patient with me. He’s the best in Bakersfield hands down he makes me feel like family and I never feel embarrassed by telling him anything he understands me and my mental health needs. I feel comfortable telling him everything because I know he has my best interest at heart.

Suneena Is the best! She makes me feel comfortable. She was very thorough while explaining things to me and always made sure to ask if I had any questions and if I did she did her best to explain things to me. She wasn’t like others who just threw medications at me. She made sure the medications were going to be okay with one of my diagnosis and that was very comforting to me because it showed she cared.

Dr. G has been the best doctor ive ever had. For years i struggled with my mental health and suffered so much, but after just a few times seeing Dr. G he has given me my life back. I was able to finish things i never could and got my quality of life back. I highly HIGHLY recommend this doctor to anyone who is struggling mentally or just needs to figure out whats going on with themselves. Dr. G saved my life and he can save yours.

Goklaney literally saved my life and the quality of it. He truly is passionate about helping those with mental health issues. He treats his patients like family. He is very attentive to my ups and downs and has helped me become stable through it all and my relationships with my family are much better now. I'm able to be a good mom and enjoy life to the fullest even when life gets tough. My 15 year old son noticed a huge difference in my behavior and told me I am so much better now that I have been stable on my meds. I am no longer grumpy all the time and short tempered and depressed with severe mood swings. If you and your family are suffering from mental illness, I highly recommend seeing Dr. Goklaney. His help and care have been an invaluable blessing to my life. Thank you so much Dr. Goklaney for helping me to achieve a happy and healthy quality of life. He is always there for me and truly cares about his patients and takes the time to best help me. Like I said he treats me like family, and for that my family and I are very grateful.

I go back and forth with reviews for this place. Doctor Goklani knows what he is doing and requires that he diagnose you rather than take the notes from other doctors. At first I was put off by this but his due diligence made him choose a different treatment plan and I had better results. Maintenance visits are pretty painless which is what I expect.

However, when I need to be pre-qualified for medication by my insurance, the office staff annually seems to misplace requests from the pharmacy or not followed through with the insurance company. For the last three years, I've had to intervene and contact the insurance company for them. This gets frustrating.

All of this said, after years of looking for a mental health provider in Bakersfield, Dr Goklani is probably the best.

Staff is friendly that is the ONLY reason im giving one star. Dr. Goklaney is very rude and has zero patience for his clients. He is not helpful. He does not take the time to listen to your concerns. I have gone there with my client at least four times always the same expierience hes HORRIBLE! I do not reccomend at all.

To be honest he never listens to me I have major major anxiety been on xanax with him for 3 years every time I see him and ask to up my dose it's no I'll get fired I used to be on 3 2mg bars a day now 3 1mg a day. He gave me high blood pressure pills when I dont have high blood pressure at all albilafy a antidepressant when those make me more depressed and he stopped my refills I would see him once ever 3 months now every month and it always is 3 to 7 days after I'm supposed to get my refills so I'm always in withdraw for 3 to 7 days

If I could give 0 stars, I would. It took over 3 months after contacting them for them to even return my phone call to do my intake. After finally receiving a call today to do my intake, the receptionist immediately cut me off while I was giving her information about my prescriptions. She treated me like a drug addict or pill seeker after I told her that I am prescribed a benzodiazepine, then proceeded to tell me that the doctor wouldn't see me because of my prescriptions. THAT IS DISCRIMINATION! SHAME ON YOU FOR DISCRIMINATING AGAINST PARTICULAR MENTAL ILLNESSES! Do NOT see this quack!

I have been going to Dr. Goklaney for a couple of years now. He is very quick and does not waste my time asking the same questions every visit. It is very comforting to me that his assistant is always in the room. I feel safe. I would recommend him to my family.

They charge 60.00 dollars to fill out any paperwork you need. I needed time off from work to get on meds and hopefully get stablized on them. They wont help you even if it is a simple 1 page document unless you give them 60 bucks first. Very sad when you need help and dont have alot of money. I paid 180.00 for an office visit and they still want more money.

Where to begin?
First off, his office will find any way to charge you fees.
Next, when you see Dr Goklany he is in his office with a female 'assistant' who enters your data on a computer. Instead of focusing on what you are saying he spends the entire time talking to the assistant, even talking over you while speaking to her. It's pretty crappy b/c several times I have felt like I wanted to explain things to him but he immediately cuts you off

Never had a bad experience here. Anytime I wanted to go in it was always quick and easy. Goklaney takes pride in his paitients! I recommend his every time.
