Duffy of San Diego

2 Friends of mine celebrated their birthdays on the Duffy. It was a lot of fun! We brought drinks and food and had a girls day boating around. It’s not a fast boat but all we wanted to do was float around, catch up and enjoy the scenery and friends. We loved it and had some good laughs!

They charged us $120 'swimming fee' because we jumped into the water for ~5 seconds to fish out someones sunglasses that fell. No where on any of the documents I signed does it say there will be a fee associated with this, even when I called the manager he says he can't show me the writing for this. Very poorly run business with shady practices

Very helpful staff, clean and comfortable boat, easy to operate. The map is hard to read for a person unfamiliar with the area. Would purchase again. Kids loved it. We saw seals! They let you bring food onboard and there is Bluetooth.

We had a fantastic experience last weekend with our rental. The staff was very helpful with the orientation to the boat and made the experience feel special. Would definitely rent another Duffy in the future!

I experienced Duffy of San Diego boat ride last weekend with my family. We were attending our daughters graduation, this was a perfect way to end our trip. Reservation experience was very smooth. We parked right across the street, on the dirt parking lot as instructed, there was plenty of parking spaces available.
Check in took less than five minutes, including signing the waiver forms. Staff were friendly, they gave instructions on how to drive the boat. They also helped us to connect our phone to the bluetooth speakers in the boat.
Boat ride was very smooth, we really enjoyed beautiful mission bay. We were allowed to bring our own food and drink.
Overall we had a great time with Duffy of San Diego.
Highly recommend this.

These boats are out of control while rocking and passing boats in the Marina.notice beer wine etc. Almost ingredients hitting other boats. Can someone please be at the entrance dock and write into your rules about coming in fast, and unsafe with loud music and voices. Pleasehave one person there to make sure boats are in control. Very much appreciated.

Such a beautiful day on Mission Bay! Loved that we could bring our own food and drinks. Easily connected to Bluetooth for our own jams. Easy to drive boat and relaxing ride.

This was a fantastic way to get out on the water with the family! We had a fantastic time. Nate got us squared away and gave us the local low down on how to make the best of our time! Definitely a redo when in San Diego!

We decided to book a Duffy cruise on the Sun Cruiser 3 for 3 hours as a way to enjoy a beautiful Saturday in a safe distanced way. This was exactly what we needed! From booking to arriving to cruising to disembarking it was a great experience! The online booking was so very easy, the confirmation and information they provide you was thorough and provided all the information we needed in order to be prepared for our trip. They even were available via text for any questions prior to your booking date. Upon arrival we were greeted by the very friendly staff to check us in and after signing the online waiver we were swiftly escorted to our very beautiful and VERY clean boat. They are taking great care to make sure these vessels are clean and sanitized. We were given a tutorial on the area and boat and were on our way. It was absolutely wonderful and such a great way to feel like you are on a mini cruise. Be sure to pack snacks and drinks to make the trip that much more luxurious! We will absolutely be back and cannot wait!

This was a special occasion for my best friend. His fiance planned this as a surprise for his birthday.

So we arrive and park and headed over to the gate. My lady wanted to go to the restroom before we set sail. Shawn/Sean shows up and immediately we felt an unwelcoming feeling, as if we were putting him out and inconveniencing him. This was not good start.

After we lightened our load. Then we all board the Duffy and I happened to be appointed the captain. He goes over his briefing and rules then attempts to shove us on our way. In the mean while I am trying to connect the bluetooth to my phone so we could have some boating ambiance. I wasn't having any luck connecting. Shawn/Sean just stood three with an impatient demeanor and continued to rush us on our way. He could of nicely come in to assist but he couldn't bother to. Finally it works, he continues to let us know he has another group that he needs to burn and turn. Customer service is definitely not his strong point.
Finally we take off on our 90 minute tour. This was a great experience putting around 4 knots=5 miles an hour around the bay. Great weather and spectacular company.
As we return to dock, the charm and great customer service continues (SARCASM). He just didn't care about us. All he cared about was burning and turning as many groups as possible. (At least do it with a kind and friendly attitude)

At the end I pulled him aside and nicely gave him my feedback, but unfortunately he said he was indifferent and that's just the way he is.

I have been in hospitality and tourism for over 20 years and unfortunately Shawn/Sean just doesn't enjoy what he's doing, therefore, he treats his customers the way he feels about his job.
I did leave him a tip, but definitely not as much as I would if we were treated with kindness.
If you all can ignore horrible customer service/relations then take a duffy out at this place. Maybe there are other companies that rent these Duffy's that we can rent from in the future.

Very friendly staff and they cleaned the boat thoroughly after each group so it felt clean and safe. It was really fun just cruising around the bay, had a great time.

Called for Labor Day and was told they would hold $10 on my credit card and I would pay a "cash price" discounted amount when I got there. We actually loved the Duffy and ride. However I had to use their ATM which charged me a processing fee and per my Credit Card they charged me $49.95, not the agreed upon $10 hold, along with giving them $140 in cash.

For that- I have to wonder, why wasn't my card credited back? I'll reconsider the review when they make the situation right.

Will never come here again, I and my friends were harassed by a man named Dusty! He was very rude and unprofessional he was making up lies saying we had a cake fight on the boat and threatened to call the cops if we didn’t get off the property. He should be fired!

DO NOT RECOMMEND! Staff is very unprofessional, they were extremely rude to my wife, they tried to intimidate us, and threatened us with extra charges for no reason. Especially Dusty, no customer services skills at all. He seems to hate his job and hate the customers, just a miserable human being. You don’t even have to be good at customer service you just have to have basic social skills, this guy was lacking all of that, a straight up a**hole. The manager that came over to talk to us isn’t any better. Overall it was not a good experience. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE!

Very nice folks and the service was excellent! If you have not tried this, you must! This was a lot of FUN! They teach you how to pilot the electric boat.
