Skip Dukes if you have a hunger to satisfy. The food is bland and lacks that true Hawaiian flavor, not only is it bland but the portions were very small! The restaurants design is true to form with complementary decor. The view from the outdoor patio is amazing the service however was a little short still training i figured.overall I must say I was mostly disappointed.sorry oh hey but the drinks were good!

Had a great experience! Waitress was so nice, food was great (Baked Fish and Mac nut Mahi), and hula pie dessert amazing!

Great food and drinks! We had the filet mignon and the seafood pot. For an app we had crab cakes. It was all delicious and reminded us of when we lived in HI and frequented Dukes. We were seated outdoors with ample space from any other tables.

They got us in on a Thursday night, even when they were fully booked with reservations. The food was fabulous!
We sat outside on the deck (Covid style.) The wind was whipping so it was chilling to the bone. The bartender made up special hot toddies for us with Tuaca (sp?). Delicious.
We took dessert (key lime pie) back to the hotel because we couldn't stand anymore cold.
Food and service was wonderful. My friend had had her wedding at Duke's a year ago in Maui. It was my first time at a Duke's. Loved it!

Outdoor dining is open, lovely views. There’s one clear vegetarian dish but I am sure other dishes like the salads could be altered to remove things like bacon. Staff was friendly and helpful. Allows dogs!

Fantastic views overlooking the ocean. Parking is really hard but there is a laid lot right next to the restaraunt. Food is usual Duke's. Not the best quality but not bad either. Mud pie is always a good dessert and huge!

Great gourmet food at an affordable price. This place makes me feel as if I am on vacay in Maui! Then I go see the sea lions down the street! I have a problem buying stuff in auction, so whenever I bid on something all the way to San Diego, Duke's is my excuse, I say to myself -we'll go out to lunch. -

Amazing views. Amazing food. Amazing service. I wish I could give more stars. It was absolutely the best restaurant I've been to in the SD area.

Food was amazing! Our waitress was amazing! View was gorgeous! Everything was just amazing! My husband and I really enjoyed it. I wanted to take my husband out for a nice dinner and this place did not disappoint. The service was on point and we just loved the view and being able to see the sea lions play in the water down below while we ate. Our waitress Cierra was absolutely wonderful! She checked on us often but not too often and she was super sweet and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place and would definitely go back.

The food at Dukes is definitely good, but the atmosphere and view from the deck make it worth going. Especially now during the pandemic, I would really recommend it. They are doing things right, checking temps at the door and the outdoor eating area is perfect. As far as food goes, try the seafood omlet for brunch and don't leave without a slice of the vanilla/macadamia nut hula pie.

Very low-quality food with a nice location/view/decor.
Pretty pricey for what you’re getting, most of the menu is deep-fried. I didn't take any photos cuz it wasn't worth taking, but everything was way too fried/burn/dry (even the mahi-mahi was overcooked) or they just didn't change the oil for a while.bottom line not a restaurant I’ll consider coming back to or craving for.

I visited La Jolla for several days to getaway with my sons. We all wanted a local seafood spot nearby. Several friends that lived in the area advised us against this place, but after reading a bunch of reviews we decided to give it a try anyway. We got a fantastic rooftop table, and everyone's meals were fabulous! Great service and reasonably priced too. I'll go again next time we're there.

Right on the coast with an outdoor roof top. So nice to be able to see the water and enjoy the food. Loved their salad with grapefruit and shrimp. Had an amazing dressing. Overall a nice quick place

Mai Tai was yummy but so tiny and not very strong. Portions are very small and kind of basic. My salad was meh especially for the pricepoint. My husband has some ribs that had great flavor, very yummy. I gotta say I prefer George's by far!

Duke's in La Jolla was a wonderful experience! The view of the ocean with Torrey Pines in the distance is gorgeous! We enjoyed seeing the people swimming and paddling canoes. The food was outstanding! The most delicious Hawaiian food I have ever tasted. The drinks where very well crafted. The portion size on a few drinks were dainty. That said we had 2 each.
When we can, we will be going back for sunset dinner
