East Star Building Supply reviews
12 Overall a decent place to shop. I picked up two quartz slab and had to toss.
The colors were not an exact match. Too heavy to deal with, quite upsetting.
These guys and gals are absolutely fabulous. Besides having a great choice of inventory with great prices, to choose from, they are all kind, courteous and know their stuff.one of the highlights of my project was meeting them!
More stylish and in touch with current trends than Home Depot or Lowe's. Prices are fair. Good place for countertops and tile.
This is by far as one of the cheapest place to shop for building materials. You just need to come at a good time because there's a lot of people to help you
Great selection of products the staff are friendly and helpful in the sales department but they lose that once you go into the yard. Never seen so many rude and disgusting people who work in one place.
Very good selection. It’s also a very efficient place to buy things. You won’t have to wait long for your order and they inspect and help you load it. I bought a toilet bowl and a faucet. I had to return the faucet because I bought the wrong kind and that was a very easy process as well. Everyone is so helpful and knowledgeable.
I call this specialty stores where kitchen and bath cabinets, fixtures, toilets, countertops a one stop shop for remodelers and diy guys
Do not buy anything from here. I got a toilet with defect, their responses was they don't refund or exchange. Got it yesterday, went in today. They sent me away to deal with manufacture myself. When I called the manufacture, they said the company I bought from handles the defect on the porcelain.
The customer service is junk, you can find comparable stock throughout the Bay area with the same price range. There is no need to support a company who does not support the product they sale.
East Star has a big selection but the sales person couldn't find their book to show us all the different range hoods so we walked. She walked after us and said that she could order whatever we wanted but it would have been nice if we could have looked at the book then and there so I don't know if we'll make it back or not. But nonetheless you have a great selection there and pretty competitive prices to. I'm still looking for that range hood though.
Very friendly. But you might want to bring a Chinese speaking friend. Other than that, price is cheaper than other supply houses.
Very unhelpful. I was told a vanity was out of stock and will arrive in 2-3 months to never.only 62" vanity tops, they can't give out installers names or phone numbers and will only send out a random person to my home.really? They so don't want a consumers business, only tradespeople.
Remodeled three kitchens and four baths with East Star's help for several investment houses upon the recommendation of my Chinese contractor. Michael Zhang and Ray were so helpful in the design, ordering and installation process. The cabinets are good quality, the countertops are beautiful and the sales staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. The prices can't be beat and the inventory is vast. I had no trouble exchanging or returning items (unused) that I made a mistake in ordering on several occasions. The workers that load up the materials can be a little curt and sometimes you stand around not knowing if and when you will be helped, but the workers open all items so you can inspect them before leaving. A fantastic one-stop shop with excellent selection and prices. The additional items they carry (fixtures, sinks, toilets, shower doors, tile, vanities, etc.) are a cut above standard Home Depot fare, better made than IKEA, and for a very reasonable price, will be installed promptly by East star referred installers. Have recommended this place to many of my friends and have seen several designers come to East Star repeatedly to outfit luxury apartments and SF high rises. Plan on spending an entire morning or afternoon browsing inventory and bring plans with thorough measurements so you can make the best use of your time.
