Eaton Canyon Trail Head reviews
19Here you can hike through nature. There are mountains on either side of the canyon. You'll see desert plants and deciduous trees. The creek might even have water flowing in it depending on the time of year. It's a beautiful place to hike, run, bike and walk. Bring family and friends. Bring food and water. Please don't litter. If you bring your pet please make sure it's on a leash.
Always enjoy Eaton Canyon. Great place close to the mountains in Altadena to get into nature. Great for kids as there are small junior nature trails and treks just for them. However beware of poison oak as there is quite a bit of it.
It's always a great place to go hiking with friends, family, girlfriends, boyfriends, & can't forget about the 4 legged furry friends called your dogs.
Water is life and though nature is in its dormancy the water brings the dry quiet landscape to life.
My go to for hiking as it's nearby and not too hard to complete! It's best to visit a day after it rains and the streams and waterfall are flowing strong and the greens are all luscious! Lots of trails and changes in terrain. Very safe as there's a lot of people that go here but not in a way that may be too crowding. It's just a really nice hike with friends or alone
This place has unfortunately been overrun with riff-raff. Every other person is playing music loudly, the place is crowded, and people don't pick up after their dogs. If you're looking for a quiet hike in nature, this isn't the place.
If you're the type that plays music out loud on a hike and wants their dog to run around off leash, maybe this place is for you (although we would all rather you stay in Runyon Canyon).
If you're in Pasadena, I recommend this hike. It's honestly east, not so uphill so good for the knees. It's also beautiful.
Accessible nature in our own backyard! Make sure to check out the Nature Center and chat with the knowledgeable docents. Every time I go to Eaton Canyon I learn something amazing.
First time here. I really enjoyed it! I found it a moderate hike to the waterfall. There was plenty of shade and I crossed the creek a few times.
I was there for a few minutes but it seems to be a pretty nice walk, they have plenty of free parking and restrooms
The actual trail is amazing, after the first mile or so. The first mile is all flatland and isn't that exciting or fun, it's more just for walking more. The exciting part of the hike happens after the bridge (which is ~ a mile in). I recommend going to the Eaton Canyon Falls (Mt. Wilson/Pinecrest Gate) area further up the mountain (you drive up and you park and walk down). It's a mile less walk for the same experience.
It's a bit of a crowded trail with dogs allowed. There are multiple crossings to reach the waterfall but it is very beautiful. I would recommend going on a weekday the crowds are very large on the weekends
My mini vacation! Wear good hiking shoes! No tennis shoes. Water bottle. Long pants. 3 mile hike. First time seems forever once you get to know the route no problem. Best to go during week. Weekend is packed! With people. One awesome beautiful hike
Such an amazing hike! It's an easy and short hike to the waterfall (less than 3 miles) and absolutely beautiful. I'd totally recommend it. Be sure to bring water shoes, you'll be crossing the river multiple times throughout the hike.
The place is awesome but the portapotties suck, seems like they don't clean them often. Other than that great place to go hiking
Nice place, a bit overcrowded and a bit messy, but aside from that it was nice. Person was air-evacuated by helicopter which was neat but incredibly annoying from the dirt that got kicked up.
Short hike to a very beautiful waterfall, there are several water crossing be prepared to get your shoes wet
It’s a little hot now so don’t suggest you guys walk from here because it’s long. There are some flowers along the way. The easiest and shortest way to enter the Eaton canyon is from the bridge. Going down from bridge save you from lots of sunlight!
