This is one of the best Japanese restaurants I’ve ever been to. The salmon sashimi was like butter. The black cod appetizer was cooked perfectly and was super delicate. Katsudon was really tasty too.

One of the best Japanese restaurants I’ve ever been to. Katsudon and sushi were all exquisite. Very attentive service.

The best Sushi place I have ever been. This is a very authentic restaurant. There is no reservation and all the party should be available before get seated. It takes about 30mins to 45mins wait time usually.

Everything was okayish. Nothing was great. I tried: chicken wings, udon noodles, poke sushi, prawns!

Terrible customer service, especially for a to-go order. What happened was we were waiting for the opening hour and on the line before at 5 pm, when they opened, we tried to order a to-go menu to save their tables. And I heard from the owner/manager that it would take an hour to get our food if we order it now because there is another way to order a to-go and we had to order at 4: 30 at the homepage. The first server who took us didn’t know that and didn’t explain this, so we yielded our turn to the later parties who were our next lines. They don’t have any flexibility and didn’t respect their customers who spent there more than 20 mins as an old customer. Very unpleasant experience!

On 2 May 2023, dinner at Ebisu San Francisco, the Chawamushi was lousy. Lobster tempura was too oily. King crab maki has little crab meat. Asked for hot orcha green tea but served me hot water. Not recommended.

Food and service were fine. First bottle of sake was amazing but they pulled the old switcharoo on the second carafe. I’m a trained sommelier. I also have tastebuds. One star for the dishonesty (I double checked and they stuck with their story).

Long line to get in during dinner time.

Food is great. Especially like the Omakase. $45 for 18 pieces (6 different kinds, 3 pieces for each). But each piece is very small and thin. Given the price of $45, it is still good. You can try different fishes in one order.

Lobster dynamite is something I do not see in other Japanese restaurants. Worth to try. But I think the lobster was overcooked.

This place surprised me at how awesome it was. Sat at the sushi bar, had the specials and it was very very good.

The food was phenomenal. Sushi was so fresh! Get there early because the line starts forming right at 5p

Good sushi place. Friendly staff. Expensive but on par with other places in the Bay Area I would say
I would return

$37 for a Chirashi bowl (before tax and tip), for fish that was not especially fresh.

Restaurant was small and cozy - be prepared for long waits.

Highly recommend this place. Some of the best sushi I've had in my life and the service was beyond exceptional. Had great conversations with locals here, they were so welcoming. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting.
