Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Heavenly Village Area, South Lake Tahoe CA

The Good:
The staff were nice. The location is pretty good - we were able to walk to the Heavenly gondola in our ski boots from the motel. The bed was pretty comfortable and the sheets seemed clean to me.

The Bad:
The rooms are dated. The walls had mold on them. The shower was small and kind of gross. The floors were not very clean, especially the bathroom floor. The walls are very thin and we could hear every little noise outside our room.

No microwave ac/heat unit did not work. Tv only has 4 channels that get lost signal so don’t depend on finishing or even starting a show. When we told the lady upfront she said there was only 1st floor rooms and she showed us one room to change to that was so much smaller and slippery floor. Then she said she couldn’t even give us a discount on the room then when I went back up there was like 10 open not being used rooms upstairs with microwaves in them. So sleeping there was horrible. We had to ask for blankets to be warm while it was a snow storm. But the fact that she didn’t want to give us a matching room to use was ridiculous and so mean. And we paid a very high price to be here and the other places around were cheaper and had more to offer. I had to carry a microwave from another room just so we can warm up our food. I’m actually just going to leave early and get another hotel somewhere else

About as bad as bad gets. The walls are moldy (no exhaust fan in the bathroom), other parts of the room are rotting away, and the shower is cramped and suffers from the same mold issue. The heater is noisy, drips something all night long while I'm trying to sleep, and it seems like it could easily light the bed on fire if you accidentally touched it with the sheets. I wouldn't ever stay here again.

You can't ask for more from a budget hotel. We stay here for quick ski trips and always enjoy ourselves and have good conversations with the front desk guy.

We were supposed to travel to Sacramento for our kids band camp and due to the snow we were stuck in Tahoe. The Econo Lodge had very nice rooms and very reasonable rates. After such a stressful drive it was a very comfortable place to rest. Now looking forward to staying there for weekend getaways. Super spacious and clean everything worked. It was a great experience.

Other than a little bit of confusion as to the second parking lot where our room was, great location blocks from the casinos inexpensive comfortable and clean!

A nightmare! This was my worst experience as we had to change our room after a big incident with the reception of the hotel. Let me tell you this there were hair and other things in one of the two beds. Actually a motel would have been better. There are other hotels for the lower price right around this less than a motel place. I will be contacting their headquarters very soon. I hope at least they can do something about this.

Pros:
1.location, could walk to shops and restaurants easily without moving the car. Biggest perk of this place is where it’s located.
2. Tile floors
3. Laundry room

Cons:
1. Street noise very audible.
2. Thin walls, can hear people in neighboring rooms.
3. Moldy shower curtain grossed us out.

The staff at the front desk are very nice but this hotel is HORRIBLE! There were dirty towels on a dirty floor in the bathroom when we arrived, and big black hairs on the toilet. Unfortunately there were no other rooms available. Bed was comfortable but I couldn't completely relax as I was worried about cleanliness. I slept on top of the sheets. This property is VERY outdated and in need of renovation. It looks NOTHING like the photos online! We also saw people in the parking lot who looked like they were checking for unlocked cars to rob. We won't stay here again!

The entire place has seen better days, but the rooms are adequate for a night or two. Stayed here because it was in the allowable price range for my company. There is no A/C so if you are coming in the Summer and you like your room chilly you may want to keep looking. The young lady in the reception was nice and helpful.

Really nice place. Great location. Staff was good. They do have black ants roaming around the lobby. But not in our motel so it wasn’t really an issue for us. Didn’t hear the next door. Nice and quiet. Would come back here again.

Stayed here before got a room with a big bathroom a refrigerator a microwave ice bucket. This time they put me in the hotel next door not even an econolodge it had nothing but a small tv and a tiny shower no amenities very disappointed. Staff was unaccommodating didn't care

Ruined my vacation! Paid over $300 for one night and didn't even get a room with an AC or sufficient plug points. The hair dryer was not working and even the electricity wasn't there when we first checked in. Absolutely horrible. I never write reviews but this one deserved it.

Pool was in a disrepair and had a foot of stagnant water in it. Rooms were decent but trash was left in the closet from previous people.
