Called last friday afternoon.said i was about 20 min till they’ll get to me and asked if i would like to leave my number.so i did and waited by my phone. MY PHONE DID NOT RING AT ALL.instead it showed a missed call and they left a voicemail to call back.so i called back immediately after and kept saying the max calls have been reached for the day.my phone isn’t on do not disturb.i get calls all the time.i literally was staring at my phone and it didn’t ring! So today right now i’m calling back at 1130.been 37 minutes so far.i didn’t get an estimation of how long it will be just an option to take a survey and listening to this song over and over again.i’ll give it another 10 min.if nothing then i’ll try again this afternoon.and if nothing again then i guess i’ll have to show up in person to ask them two simple questions.

EDIT: so after 57 min on the line they finally answered. I will give them 2 stars cause the lady who helped me was actually helpful.

Easy to find parking. Staff was friendly and courteous. They solved my issue within a few minutes of helping me. Very pleased with their service.

I lost track at how many times I have came into the disability office and still no check at all. I’ve been on maternity leave for almost two months and it’s very very stressful not knowing if I will be able to make my rent! I have to go back yet again and you can’t even call them to talk! I always get stuck going in because I have a few questions. I’m just so annoyed with all of this! I wouldn’t even rate a one star but I had too.

Its ridiculous that they dont give a phone number where you can speak to an employee to get information! Instead you have to listen to dozens of prompts, which don't give you the option of speaking to someone! How about hiring people to provide customer service?

Tiny, slow since they have only one receptionist at a time, they discuss your case in front of everyone else, and they're both opaque and incompetent

Knolegegable staff. All my questions we're answered. The wait was about 40 minutes. Better than the DMV.

If I could give negative stars I would. Who runs this sham? FIRE THEM!
The whole system does not have to be this incompetent- just ridiculous. You cannot reach a person by phone, you can't submit any forms online except your initial information nor communicate with anyone via online/email. So it is practically impossible to get anything accomplished. Some incompetent employee, Jennifer, said I had reached the technical assistance line, apparently not the right dept. I asked her for a phone number to reach a person and, without saying a word, she stuck me back on hold and no one ever picked up. A complete moron could run this program better and still have time to lay on the beach and sip margaritas. I just want to know if a class action lawsuit could be filed or some measure taken to force the San Diego govt to take some action to clean up this program. There are sick people who just cannot put this kind of time and effort into trying to navigate an impossible system. Have some compassion for them!

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME CALLING! GO INTO YOUR NEAREST OFFICE! Walked in and out in 15 minutes and had everything I needed figured out.

Ok, first and foremost, this facility and staff are some wonderful and lovely people who are very quick and helpful in answering questions and helping resolve any uncertainties with situations, in-person.that said, their by-phone contact system is one of the worst I can imagine for helping anybody who needs critical help, especially those dealing with serious medical conditions! It doesn't connect you to an actual person by phone any bit easily enough, and can waste so much call-time that I wonder if the call-system creator cares about the needy at all, or actually hate them!

Everyone should write to, call, or visit in person their Congressional Representative concerning the complete incompetence of this whole system! No way to get any person to speak to you on the phone no matter what number you call! This forces you to go to the one and only San Diego office - and spend a large part of your day waiting to speak to someone. People are on Disability because of some kind of physical problem or sickness, and right here we have a complete lack of empathy bordering on Cruel and Unusual Punishment! An insider there told me that the system is purposely horrrific so that people are forced to come to this office just to keep it and it's employees funded! People grapeling with medical issues usually don't have the time or energy to complain - so this Government Agency seems to be able to get away with this! That has to change! People deserve better in a State with one of the Highest tax rates in the US!

I had been waiting for a month on my DI claim to be processed and couldn't get a hold of anyone via telephone call. I went to the office on a Tuesday afternoon to see why it was taking so long to be processed. I was in and out under 1 hour and the staff had to have been some of the nicest state employees I've ever met! They were genuinely compassionate and helpful, understanding how desperate and financially strained some of us were waiting for our claims to go through. I had my claim issues resolved and will definitely say it was overall a much better than anticipated experience!
