16 I haven’t been in this place in awhile so I stopped by because I was craving a bagel. Look at the price for a plain bagel $2.19! For a bagel, plain, really? I can’t believe how much they went up, that’s crazy! Then $5.29 for toast with avocado on it!
I went to the Vons next store and got a delicious blueberry bagel for $. 99!
Bryce was very welcoming and made the experience very home-like. Will definitely pop my head back in there, great people.
As a local business owner I understand that negative reviews, especially one star reviews, can have a substantial impact on the business; I do not take this action lightly and really considered this fact before posting.
The employees here are always nice which has kept me returning but the store’s setup and cleanliness I’ve looked over to support a local business.
Management is not empathetic or helpful.
I placed an order for ahead pickup and was unable to make it before their 2 pm closing to pick it up. I had a last minute situation at my own business that I had to tend to.
I decided to try to see if it could be remade the next day. I understand costs are everything to a business and I hope the bagels the previous day were at least taken home by an employee to not be wasteful.
I also understand that because profits are important to a business, giving “free” items isn’t ideal.
I knew there was a possibility they wouldn’t remake the 2 bagels sandwiches.
At the very least I expected an empathetic smile or maybe an offer of a complimentary coffee as a show of good faith and customer service.
What I got was a cold no and a shrug.
I don’t know what their margins are but I’m sure they could of at least made 1 of the sandwiches from my previous order, which I asked the manager politely as a possible compromise.
I’d never let one of my clients or customers leave in that manner - obviously unhappy. I’d try to make sure that they knew they were appreciated.
The sandwich place next door, Jersey Mikes, is always clean, the staff is always upbeat and friendly, service is fast and the food is consistent. Easy swap.
Everything went well from ordering to paying. They were very nice. But when I got my breakfast bagel, it was cold, the cheese wasn't melted and I asked if I could get it warmed up and the gal in the back got upset over me asking for that. They "heated" up and just left it on the counter and I'm over here waiting a long time until I had to reach over and ask if my bagel was done. And the girl said yeah it's there. And now cold again. I just grabbed it and left. Didn't even eat it. It was not consumable. I'm sure it's a rare experience or maybe not. I should've expected it based on people's reviews. Again the ones taking orders and receiving payments were extremely sweet.
Not sure that this place was like in it's hayday, but it's REALLY taken a turn for the worse. No indoor seating, strange queueing process, unclean floors at opening, and a drink machine that was maybe 50% operational. Whoever owns this location needs to SERIOUSLY think about this situation.
Was soggy and I got some cute egg shell crunch in my egg.nice service but bagels could be better.
Most definitely agree with comment from Dylan. You are going downhill. Took 4 others bagels I WAS AHEAD Of Them! Bagel was awful NOT Toasted
I love this place they are so friendly the manager Maui and the assistant manager Ricky and all the other crew there are so sweet and polite can I ask for more
This place is steadily going downhill. I highly recommend ordering in person vs mobile because mobile orders have been consistently incorrect. My last order I paid extra to have 2 eggs on a farmhouse sandwich and they gave me none. Also they didn’t toast the bagel? Huge disappointment
Customer service not that great. The coffee was really cold. I was in a hurry so I couldn't say anything. The bagels were supposed to be toasted and didn't seem toasted at all.
Waiting 30 minutes to pick up an order from the doordash, lack of respect, we delay the order and the customer gives a bad rating to the driver
I really love this Einsteins bagel place, it is super organized/ clean & delicious… It has a nice outdoor patio & a very friendly staff! I think this is because of the Mananger Mawi he is truly superb and always in great spirits, greets everyone with a big smile, manages his staff well and he seems to be a very hard worker going the extra mile to help all the customers, making them feel noticed & care for… i have been coming here for a while and it has been consistently excellent so decided to write this review to give Mawi some praise because this kind of Spirit is rare to find these days! This is definitely my preferred neighborhood bakery to visit here in Solana Beach ️?
The cheese bagel was delicious, I had a white mocha latte wish I really liked. However my girlfriend had a regular coffee wish it's self-serve and it was cold. Other than that it was great.
The service and bagel selection is horrible! Short staffed and out of many bagels… they can’t keep up! I won’t return to this location! The manager is working as hard as can be but not a way to keep your customers happy…
This is the Einstein right up the street from my house. This is the 3rd/4th weekend in a row I have come and they did not have my bagel. I get here early in the morning and they claim they sell out before hand. When I addressed the situation the manager was not very nice and said that he has other things to do. If your store knows you sell out of a certain bagel super quick you would they they would catch on the the trend/demand and make more. Terribly run business.
These guys were short staffed, and had to deal with the rudest customers. They kept a smile and apologized to everyone for the wait! Keep up the good work!
