El Castell Motel

This hotel was amazing. The room I ordered had 3 queen beds and surprisingly it was pretty affordable. The room had wooden floors (which is quite rare) and the bathroom was clean. This hotel was in a great area where it wasn't loud from the cars outside. There was also parking offered at the hotel. Overall it was amazing and if I visit Monterey again, I would definitely be staying there.

Husband and I stayed a night here. Our room was spotless, the bed was super comfy and the service was excellent! We will definitely stay again next time we’re in the area!

This is a decent place to stay at an affordable rate. Close to fairgrounds and places to eat. We had a nice stay here for my birthday. Will be back again.

It is a pretty nice motel it has a pool no breakfast or coffee. But try to get corner rooms they are very nice and have three beds.

The stay was nice but we left for around 2-3 hours and we came back to caution tape all around the parking lot and our room was half cleaned. One of the beds was completely torn apart and the spreads were on another bed. All of our towels were gone and the sheet for one of the beds was gone. The room smelt of bleach when we came in which wasn't a big deal, just means they had just cleaned it. The room was a good size for me and my pretty big family. Overall, the stay was nice, room service was a bit iffy but they did end up coming back and the lady was really nice.

Located in the middle of Monterey and less than a 15-20 min walk from Del Monte Beach, as well as convenient locations for Monterey-Salinas Transit stops. El Castell Motel does give the early 20th Century Motor Inn vibe, but that's not necessarily a bad thing! The sheets did feel a bit thin, but then again I sleep a bit hot anyway. Only complaint was I didn't see where the continental breakfast was here, but there were plenty of food choices nearby, as well as a CVS, 7-Eleven and Safeway. If I come out again to Monterey, most likely I'll be coming back here!

Im sorry but i have been reading these reviews and something is seriously wrong. To be fair it has been awhile since i stayed here but it has been a running joke ever since how no place I could ever stay at could be as bad as the El Castell Motel. My stay here was terrible. The beds were uncomfortable. The water coming out of the faucets was brown, so much so that I actually took a bar of soap to the pool area because i wouldnt get in the shower. My only good memory was that it was cheap and close to the attractions I came to visit.

Excellent and friendly staff, a nice, clean, and comfy room, and the maid staff did a great job keeping it nice and fresh every day. Also, the area felt really safe so overall a great experience. Would recommend!

The rooms are pretty nice, but service is mediocre at best. They had blocked off 75% of their parking to fix the cracks. Ot isn't a big deal but no warning was given. Then when we got to our room we found only half the service had been done. One bed was left completely undone and unable to be used. When I called about it the only thing they said to me was. Well the house keepers are at lunch and they'll finish when they get back. I asked them why would they start turning over a room before their lunch if they knew they weren't going to finish. Their answer to me was. They're at lunch and will finish when they get back. Hopefully this review helps others find a better hotel before they book here. The price is good but you get what you pay for.

Everything except for the staff was good. The staff tore apart my bed to clean and stopped halfway through. Also, they took our towels too. They didn't even give us a Do Not Disturb sign in the room when we checked in. The location was what you would expect for a motel.

One of the best values in the area. The entire staff are so kind and attentive to your needs. The room is very clean. The pool is fantastic and also clean. I would highly recommend El Castell Motel to anyone who is looking for a clean, safe, and nice place to stay FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY

No way these beds are Queen as advertised on Hotels com. They were full. Also on the Hotels.com website the say it is 11 walking minutes away from the water walking it is not. Staff was not at the desk for about ten minutes after I rang the bell and it was check in time. She also almost forgot to give me back my id. If I had not asked for it back she would not have. Tv was to small

The double beds room is spacious and the staff is truly exceptional. I recommend for family trips ans they have a nice indoor pool. Also it's in a great location pretty close to everything you might need.

5 star service, 5 star heated pool for kids and adults to enjoy and 5 star notability for an honest business. As I was leaving from a very pleasant stay, my wife left her shampoo (not that she needed it because they have a quite exquisite and fruity line of bathing products) and one of the managers / owners ran out to let us know. Thank you sir! The only downside is the area however they have to be the best Hotel on the block! Will come again!
