El Cerrito DMV

Security lady is ABSOLUTELY RUDE to EVERYONE! Its absurd what they do with people, old, young, I dont care! I have been there twice on the 15 and 16th of Aug 2022 and I saw both days how RUDE she is and the way she treats people. We are not animals, we are humans and if she is not happy doing her job, she needs to QUIT immediately! ITS DISGUSTING what she did

I was scared to death to go to the specific DMV even though I used to live in the area because of the reviews that I saw online for this particular DMV. Upon going in, I was immediately taken care of by an outstanding employee named Leanne! My interactions with her were so helpful and pleasant and beyond what I have experienced before at other DMVs In the bay area, north and south, regarding customer service. She is a gem and deserves to be recognized by the DMV for how well she treated me when I came in. I will never forget her customer service was impeccable. She was kind and professional and made me feel at ease, and was happy for me. What more could you ask for in a role where customer service is needed? She went above and beyond because it was in her nature, not because she had to. Respect begets respect. I want to say thank you again to the whole team at the El Cerrito DMV, but give a special shout-out to Leanne and Mickey and the driving test team. You are very appreciated, and I cut these guys some slack. Their job isn’t easy. Treat them how you want to be treated, and they will treat you back in kind. If you go in there with a sense of entitlement, you’re not going to get very far, or if you go in there with an attitude anywhere, you probably won’t either.
These employees have enough to worry about as they work for the government, and there is a lot of bureaucracy and loopholes they have to jump through to get things done for us, and their job is to help us, so why wouldn’t they want to? !

I got the drive test at El Cerrito DMV and that was nice experience. Actually I am not yet perfect English speaker, but my inspector “Mickey” was very kind and considerate for me. You are nice staff and I thank you.

My experience to went very smooth had a little wait time gave me a chance to look over the hand book but was not there long

Rude, lack of respect, no chance to have a conversation to even explain things. No wonder they are fast the way they treat people

El Cerrito DMV worst customer service. Always rude! Guy at the front is so
Rude. Literally called me a liar. I have been going to Novato. The difference is day and night. I for got that it is worth the drive.

This place is tucked back away from the madness that is the blur of commuters along San Pablo.
It seems to be always busy, but the agents are helpful and imbued with the patience of Job as they are sometimes beseiged with the demands of emotionally/psychologically unwell individuals whose expectations are being directed at persons not trained or educated to provide the level of services they require.
It helps a great deal that there is a police station located immediately next door.
As a side note, there is a rumour that this location also training center for management members from all over the state.

Went into DMV this morning thought I was going to be there for a long wait. But I went in and got out in 20 minutes. Thank goodness I'm glad I went and got it over with. This time the clerk was very friendly.

Get an appointment.
I was there to finally upgrade my driver's license to a Real ID/DL, my appointment was at 1230pm, went in a breeze, was finished in 13 minutes!
Wow.
I submitted my documents online and brought all the required original copies.
There was a time when going to the local DMV required the patience of Job.
But with the online/ appointment option, it was a walk in the park.

Came in to renew my license for Real ID. Couldn’t make an online appointment due to a site glitch. Filled out the online application, walked in on a Friday morning at 9: 30 with no appointment and my documents ready, and was in and out in 25min! Great service.

A lot of improvement in comparison to my experience in 2016 with the same office. Still some staff members should step up and be more helpful the service they are delivering is crucial and sensitive with good number of customers are still thriving with the new language and communication culture

With the appointment I was able to get in and out within an hour. Service was helpful and friendly even with the chaos inside.

On this visit, I got a good Rep to help me and she explained what I needed to do. Even gave me information I should have gotten at the last visit. But still not able to complete what I went there to handle.

Passed my driver’s test on my third try here! Staff was very fair and friendly. I didn’t have to wait long at all each time. A thank you to Mickey for being so kind during my last try.

Today was the worst experience I have ever had at a DMV. Staff had no idea what they were doing. Parents let their children run all over. Some staff couldn't speak English. I had to get up and leave without finishing getting my license renewed. I am going to try and find another DMV to take care of my business. I am a Veteran with PTSD and just can't deal with the noise, confusion and terrible staff in that DMV. I am going to another DMV out of the Bay Area and try to get my license renewal done.

They are doing government job. They don’t have interest to solve your problems, different rules for different persons, it depends upon how you look like and their mood.
