Angie was a fantastic hostess very knowledgeable about the menu
And the server Peter and the bartender was out of this world

This was my first time going here, the food was okay but the service well made up for it. I couldn't decide between the El pastor or the birra which is pork versus beef, so the waiter suggested that I just have both put in my burrito. It came out and looked great, all the flavors were there, but the beef was very dry. I ate some of it and then opened it up and was picking at it with a fork. My waiter came up and noticed that I wasn't really happy and asked me about it, otherwise I wouldn't have said anything. I told him that it was dry and he immediately took it away to show the chef and then came back and gave me a free dessert that was delicious. Then when he came back with the check the burrito was not on the check and he said that the chef said thank you for letting him know, and that he would make sure that the beef got refreshed. This is the kind of service that you don't find in a lot of places. Originally, I probably wouldn't have come back, but now I will make sure to try it again before I leave town to go home.

Not sure who they have hired to do security but hate to inform you they aren’t it. Was asked to show ID no problem then told I wasn’t allowed in. The reason given None. Just pushed to outside of restaurant and one Security working door on 9/28 tell me I wasn’t allowed in. I won’t ever come back here to entertain guest went right down the street and got seated and drinks right away. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, I’m trying to entertain business clients not sneak in drinks I’m 31 the security was unprofessional and disrespectful and wouldn’t give me any reason for entry sounds a whole lot like discrimination.

Tourists don’t go here the security will try to force you to wait till bottle service is required! I asked to be moved outside before the bottle service stared and they took an hour even though there was no one sitting out in the tables. The security outside was rude and we had some escorts or some sort of working girls trying to buy drink for them. It was weird never going back!

They have covers most of the weekend, but if your gina drink and party is worth it, always a good vibe, mostly hip hop, rnb, but they mixed it up. Fun bar, good drinks, nice people.

Great experience at this amazing Mexican food restaurant! This place is by far one of my top 5 places to eat. The drinks there are super tasty and food is delicious. Would definitely recommend everyone to come try out this amazing place!

This place is a restaurant and bar so there's indoor and outdoor seating. Very popular place as a bar but not much as a restaurant. Food was okay for what it was but our salsa tasted like it had soap water in it & my husband's torta had bad avocado. Could have been worse but don't think we'll go back.

The food was badass just as the establishment claims. The place has amazing service! Adrian our waiter was simply amazing! Would definitely go back whenever I'm in San Diego again

Really amazing tasting food and great atmosphere, but the restaurant and food is not super authentic and is very prone to stereotypes

The food and drinks were pretty good. Be prepared to wait a long time to be seated as it does get really packed. The service was pretty quick despite how packed it was. Some things are over priced.

El Chingon was Chingon! Their happy hour rolled taquitos and potato tacos were amazing. Full of toppings and their guacamole was on point. Their Baja style tacos were the highlight of what we tried along with their Baja fish burrito. Highly recommend this place if you are in downtown San Diego. #MakingMexicanGreatAgain

I came for the drinks, and will be returning for the bartenders! I had great service from a gentleman who was on his fourth day. He knew the menu, gave great reccs, and was entertaining. My table even called the manager over just so he knew the service we got was awesome.

Love, love this place. I can't remember all the staff names but whoever worked lunch on September 17th was absolutely the best! They made me birthday memorable.

Horrible service and food - very indifferent attitude by our server. 25$ drink madero is nothing great either. Ordered Shrimp fajitas and shrimp were not cooked either. I would think twice before going here.

The chips were stale and the salsa did not taste fresh. They're famous watermelon margarita looks great when they brought it out but had flakes or powder floating in the margarita which make me choke when drinking. I ordered three tacos one of which I would never order again.

I been to a lot of spots in SD I actually been to this one before but today service was on point my boy Howard took really good care of me and my shorty
He is very professional and fast at what he do

We need more A1 service like this!
