El Compadre, Atascadero CA

I’ve only gotten takeout but they by far have THE best chicken fajitas I’ve ever had. I don’t even live in the area and I’ve tried a few places where I’m at, but nothing compares. Idk what they do but they’re so good.

El Compadre had been a favorite of mine for years, it's a small little place but the food is great and staff is fantastic. I usually get the California burrito which I really enjoy. I tried their special on this visit which was a burrito with beef, pork AND chicken, it was very good.

If you enjoy Mexican and are in Atascadero I definitely recommend giving them a try.

Came here for dinner with my kids, my parents and my brother so it was a large group. The staff was very attentive, food came out pretty quick and it was delicious! We all left fat and happy

New owners are going to lose customers quickly. There were 2 of us and we were served a basket with 5 chips. The salsa tasted old and sour. The meat on tacos tasted old and was scarce. But looked huge with tons of lettuce on them. Food portions were very small. Not the greatest service. Oh and prices have risen. Not the marvelous place it used to be.
Will not be returning.

The food is great everytime we go there. Owners are very pleasant, kind and friendly to all that walk through the doors in their establishment.

Really bad service. They made us wait for about an hour and the burrito I ordered had no meat at all. The manager never came out and the personal was very rude.

What a bad experience I had today in this place, bad service and the food is not served at all well. I ordered 3 burritos with meat and they gave me only beans and rice. I asked to speak to the manager and he never came out, he never turned his face

Well, first time we went there, really not impressed, the salsa was bland, the guacamole was watery, and my taco salad bowl, was more like a soup, with no flavoring.but the server was great.
