El Mahroosa Restaurant & Cafe

I would say I travel almost an hour to go there. The vibes are so friendly and welcoming, the staff are so sweet, polite and helpful, they have a large outstanding variety of hookahs. The menu is pretty huge with plenty of items to choose from, whatever you like eating, they have items that will suffice. I usually get the mixed grill, the lamb is more than perfect, the kofta is very juicy and the beef is delicious. They got turkish coffee, konafas are so tasty and the prices are extremely reasonable for the value. Very much recommended.

I love their food and they made a really good hookah, they are the best, I like to drive all the way from san Diego to Anaheim just for to get their food and smoke a great hookah

The Bold guy, hussain has a very bad attitude,

Here is my story,

So i and my other friends were sitting on table 12, we figured we were not comfortable we decided to change our table informed the person other than hussain that we are changing our table we were given the approval and we moved from table 12 to table 2, however a few minutes after hussain (the bold guy) approached us in a very bad manner said hey you guys should not do this and and make sure you inform me next time,

We said but we did tell your colleague, he (hussain) goes like you should tell me not him dont do this again in a (very bad attitude), we asked him why are you talking to us like that he said you should behave we said but we didn't even say anything to you, where as this should have been communicated between them,

However a few minutes after he approached us again and said we will not provide you hookahs, to my knowledge while everyone else had hookah and this was not our first time we asked him why he said he didn't want to give us service and then he accused me that i always had a bad attitude i said before you say this talk about yourself not your colleagues everyone else knows me here and i have always been nice here, he said no you have a bad attitude with Mohammad too i said bring him lets see who is Mohammad and why would i have a bad attitude with anyone this is not personal nor i know them why would i have a bad attitude, in the mean time hw goes bluffing so much stuff,

His own colleagues Basam said no you were never disrespectful nor had a bad attitude ever.

However my next step is to take this further to Sameer the owner and will continue my review accordingly,

This was really disappointing i have been coming here for 2 years now and i decided to never be here again and spread the word now to my circle and social media i have the right of speech and i will take this further.

Is this place under new ownership? I came here a while back and the food was fantastic. I came in a couple of weeks ago and was extremely disappointed. The food wasn’t prepared how it was the previous time I came in. They had the audacity to give me a tiny portion of salad that was straight out of a bag you buy at a grocery store. Middle eastern restaurants are known for having fresh middle eastern style salad. Not this place. The other issue I had was the fact that my plate came with hummus and they didn’t give me ANY bread. When you order hummus anywhere else you ALWAYS get bread. I was very upset as I didn’t have pita bread at home. This place has seriously gone downhill. Unfortunately, I will never return.

EGYPT (via Eat the World Los Angeles) - The menu is many pages long and meanders in and out of just about everything that can be enjoyed in Egypt and throughout the Levant and Arabian Peninsula. Families come here together to enjoy big platters of mandi and/or kabsa with chicken or lamb, shawerma and kababs, and a host of mezze and fried appetizers, but the kitchen really excels with specifically Egyptian dishes that are not available in nearby restaurants with Lebanese, Palestinian, or Syrian owners.

This is a hooka bar in addition to restaurant. The ceiling fans do pretty well for keeping the smoke away. The Mediterranean food was very good. Portions are large. I was with a party of 6. We ordered different things and everybody was very happy with their food. There were big screen TVs everywhere and the volume was pretty loud with middle eastern music and video. Adds to the atmosphere.

Today I went to this restaurant and the service was unpolite the food was warmed up I asked the waitress is the food fresh she said yes after she bring the food my husband told me the food the looks left over. I told him no there’s no restaurant heat up the food it Hass to be fresh then I called the waitress I told her is the food fresh she said yes we prepare it and then we heat up the food to serve it I thought that doesn’t make it fresh from 9 AM till 4 PM that’s left over she said that’s the way they run their business so basically the food was left over the chicken bone was brown so my husband left the food and walked out he said I’m not gonna eat this food I called the manager she said he’s not here. The lady came out and told me I’m going to refund you back the money after 25 minutes I go back to her tell her are you done she said no but I can’t refund you all the money back because you ate your husband ate part of the chicken I told her why do you gonna charge me $15 for one chicken that was returned wow I cannot believe this so I don’t advice of this restaurant because they feed people leftover food. I didn’t take a picture of the food because of she was argument with me. I told her that’s why I prefer To go to a restaurant that serves fresh food.

You can always expect great food when you're there. Atmosphere is great too. Hookah needs a little work but overall it's a good place to just meet up hang out and get some delicious food

The food is so good. We ordered chicken Kabsa, kebda and mombar and all were delicious. I’ll come back when I visit California again

My first Egyptian restaurant and cafe in OC, loved Ramadan atmosphere, decorations, songs, food is delicious, big portions and nice shisha aka hookah. Keep it up Relatively crowded but alive in a cozy way.

Nice to see it is pact with customers. But I think the owners or managers are very very tight they don't spend any cash to keep place clean I wood not buy anything any thing any more. Food 5star clean _ _ 10

Double check your bill! Unscrupulous and unethical servers! Came here and were promptly seated but had poor service during our stay. Food was okay. Koshary is my fav but sometimes its hit or miss. Khanafa is good too usually.

Waitress added small items to our bill thinking we wouldn't notice, and also gave herself a generous tip for lousy service! So ghetto and with no morals!

Your clothes will also smell like a deep frier and smoke when you leave: X

Never disappointed when we eat here. They serve authentic, great tasting middle eastern food. Food portions are big. Environment is lively with music playing and people playing cards. I would just leave the kids with a sitter while dining there as hookah, and cigar/cigarettes are often smoked there.

Terrible food and small and unhealthy very low ceiling and poor ventilation. Small buffet and cheap quality, over priced. Iftar at 7.25 you are lucky if can eat before 8.30. Slow moving because a small table for self service. Never again

I did visit AL Mahroosa to have dinner, hookah, and sweet. I ordered pigeon with Mulokhia, double apple hookah with apple head and umo Ali desert. Food & hookah as usual fantastic, but service was really on the sour side, the kid brought my food he almost spilles the food on the floor, soup was all over the dish, then after finishing dinner, I asked Sandra my waitress to clean the table which was really dirty from the spilled soup she didn't do it until I already remove my self to different table, she showed up to clean after almost an hour.
Really disappointed. My bill was $ 71 by my self which is fair, no complaints for that, I expect better service.

Don’t go this place if you are alone because you’re not going to be welcomed. If you go alone you will wait for a very long time to be seated and they may even forget to find seat for you.

It was my first time ordering food from this place. The first person didn't really speak English. The cashier which was a male was nice. But at the end this rude lady didn't even call my name just said half order chicken then said hey you! Didnt get my pita bread. On top of that she said did you pay in a rude tone. Never going back here every again.

The lamb biryani is pretty good but kanafeh is the worst I have ever had.

The service is cruddy but the hookah is actually made very well along with the food.

The lemon mint drink is really good. The overall vibe is always pleasant. After coming a few times I decided to change from two stars to three stars

I had a gum/cinnamon flavored Hooka (less than average), Nescafe (way less than average). I tasted fava beans with Tahini (very tasty) and Falafel (super tasty). They also serve Turkish coffee (only with cardamom) and it is good.

The atmosphere and ambience is not bad.

Prices compared to quality are relatively fair.

That's my spot and one of the good spots to eat, smoke, and enjoy authentic food and atmosphere in Anaheim (Orange County)
