El Sancho Loco Taqueria y Cantina reviews
16 Burro de Cali was amazing, but the service was even better which is saying a lot!
5 stars all around
This is a classy, authentic-looking, sit-down alternative to the sister (take-out) location next door. I had a great dinner with some friends along with some awesome tequila cocktails and couldn't be happier. They have all the games on big screens and the food was the best Mexican I've ever had! Seems like it's as close to gourmet Mexican as it gets.
New Mex restaurant that has the tastiest, freshest Mexican food I’ve ever had. The shrimp burrito was really good. It was huge. The interior decor is gorgeous! My brother was one of Nobu’s top sushi chefs and is considered one of the top sushi chefs in the world. Whoever the chef is at this Mexican restaurant, she or he is very talented and has to be as good as they get! We love Sharkey’s but this is a few cuts above.
Nice place, like the decor. Really good burrito, tasty & filling to say the least. The staff very friendly and provided top notch service.
I’ve lived in this area for over 30 years, and this is a new level of Mexican cuisine. I had the Pastor w pina and it was so amazing I have to tell everyone. Also the Flan was the best I’ve ever had. A+
Tiny taco portions, frozen/defrosted tilapia, taste below average, expensive, interior not inviting, salsa not good, burrito rice and beans cooked either in old oil or animal fat. This place is not going to survive.
A wonderful dining experience!
We started with guacamole, made to order. Delicious. The chips were house made, fresh and thick enough to withstand the thickness of the guacamole.
I ordered the BRC (beans, rice and cheese) burrito. I chose refried beans, onions, cilantro and pico de Gallo. Substantial, fresh, tasty and authentic!
My Wife had the Tostada Salad with chicken. The chicken was grilled, cubed and lightly spiced, she doesn't like hot spices, and this was good for her palate. The fixings were fresh. The Tostada bowl shell was also fresh made, flaky, airy and delicious!
It is a cozy dining room with around 10 tables inside and an outdoor patio with tables and heaters. There is also additional seating at the bar, which has a spectacular Dia de los Muertos style mural on the back bar.
The decor is light and calming, with large floral prints on the wall and bits of Mexican art placed around the room. The tables appear to be made from antique doors!
The bar offers a few exclusive drinks which were created especially for the restaurant.
Speaking of decor, I usually don't comment on the bathroom decor, but the urinal is too beautiful to pass up! (see picture).
Sasha, one of the owners, was on hand, even during lunch, and very attentive and informative.
The pace of service and the meal was just right.
Our entire meal before gratuity was around $44. Not bad for this level of service and quality.
Will we be back again? You betcha!
My new, favorite Mexican restaurant!
Delicious Mexican food! Awesome tacos, burritos and ceviche. Do NOT hesitate to go to this new location! Kind staff, great service!
Truly delicious Mexican food across their entire menu.and the translation of Sancho Loco.too funny! I love this place.
I really wish this place was better. We had to ask for a glass of water three times. We had to ask for silverware and napkins twice. The servers were very nice but understaffed. The food was so bland! Needed seasoning. I ordered a veggie burrito. It had iceberg lettuce in it! Who puts cold lettuce in a hot burrito? Not good. I hate to say it but this place won’t last, unfortunately.
Great food, great service, and the BEST margaritas! Plus beautiful ambience. Highly recommend!
Very friendly staff. The food and the drinks were really really good! Loved the Michelada! And lets not talk about dessert. The deep fried Ice cream, Churros and Funnel cake. Out of this world! Must try!
Their meat dishes are good - but presentation is lacking. Mango Ceviche was not ripe at all, and 16 dollars to boot for a small amount of food.
Fried ice cream wasn't fried at all - no refund was offered, just a half hearted apology.
Very expensive for what it is, stick to take out and to the classic mexican food items.
I’ve had a few dishes there and I’ve never been disappointed. The menu is being fine tuned currently but whatever is in it, it’s good! All homemade Mexican, kind of gourmet at that. This is no fast food
Best homemade Mexican dishes I’ve had, and my family agrees. This is not Sharkey’s, it’s a level or two up. Specifically, I had a whole fried fish that was perfect. The family had tacos, and burritos and all agreed it was a cut above anything we’ve had. They just opened so they’re going through the birthing pains all restaurants do. Be patient, the chow will reward you!
